I have 1 remaining OPK right now and have yet to get a positive OPK this cycle. My shipment of a new box is currently out for delivery but I am still sweating bullets about using this last one later today

I'm planning to dive into OPKs next cycle. How many times a day do you take them? @inthewoods23 I saw that it was negative - are you supposed to take another one tonight (so 3 in one day)?

We just signed up for 30 days free of Netflix after letting it lapse when the credit card on file expired (we didn't update it with the new one) and I can't remember everything we missed the past 6 months or so. Any Netflix recommendations?

@kvh22 they recommend twice a day once they start rising. personally, i start around CD8-9 at once a day with FMU. then around CD13 (or t/c rise) i start twice or more a day. the last two cycles my O was super delayed and there were a few days i used them with literally every urine of the day. i might be crazy though

@kvh22 I do 1 in the morning starting at CD10, then move up to 2 CD14. When I get close to positive I might start POAS 3 times a day until it's definitely negative. Since I may have been diluted for my last one, I'll just check again tonight to be sure it's going back up

@asf0613 ha I bought a giant box of them so plan on using them a bunch if need be but I also have long/confusing cycles sometimes so I can see how you'd end up burning through them. What is t/c rise?

@kvh22 I usually do 2x a day. Except now that I have to pinpoint my surge for IVF I'm using them like a crazy person.

I just got off a video conference interview (follow up from my initial interview last week). I can't stop sweating!

@kvh22 T/C ratio is from the Premom app (not sure if other apps use it). When you take a picture of the OPK it interprets the contrast of the test line and control line to give you a number. If you look at some of the screen shots in the OPK thread it will make more sense.

Random question ladies (for the randoms thread ha)... any idea what it costs to have someone come to our house JUST to clear weeds?

Weeds are just so rampant in our yard and with our current lifestyle/year-round activities that we do, it just seems like we'll never get ahead of everything because it's too hot and humid to do more than a few weeds at a time. Which then of course come back in a matter of days anyway so it feels pointless to do it ourselves. Can you hire people to do just that vs having them uproot every single plant and re-landscape?

@inthewoods23 I'm not sure how much it would cost but I imagine it would be pretty reasonable. You could contact a few local lawn companies for quotes. They would likely just spray heavy duty weed spray to kill them and then maybe come back to clean the dead ones out as well as put a preventative down. It's funny you asked this because I literally just got done Pinteresting natural weed killer ideas to keep the weeds growing in the walkways and driveway at bay!

They say that spraying them with white vinegar or bleach will quickly kill them (you just have to be sure not to spray grassy areas that you WANT to keep grass growing in!) And then to sprinkle baking soda as a preventative. So I'm going shopping tonight for the supplies!

@kpearse99 a lot of these weeds are intertwined with the plants we have and want to keep. I mean, if they kill a hosta or 2 it's not the end of the world because we really have an overabundance of those. We've split them probably twice at least already and could easily do that again to fill in the areas that got oversprayed.

I guess we'd probably want to add them also laying down landscape fabric. The one area where we did that properly, with lots of overlap has just had a few small things come up. But it's sooo much work to do that ourselves around the entire house. And sure, we could probably ask family to help out but I always end up feeling more in the way than helpful when there are so many people doing the same thing.

@kpearse99 I struggle to get DH on board with things like this because his family is very much DIY. I mean they basically built his parent's house. All of the internal work was done by them, etc. SIL and her BF did a bunch of remodeling in their house and that was all done by them and FIL. Weeds though... That's a tough job because it's so humid often.

@inthewoods23 We actually just had this priced out this summer. For six weed treatments throughout the spring summer and fall it was $200. Our yard isn’t very big maybe 3000 ft.².
