Baby is the size of: Banana 🍌 ..but probably bigger as he was measuring in the 97th percentile based on LMP at the AS last week! 🙈
Upcoming Appointments: Routine midwife visit on August 3.
Rave: My midwife gave us the option to do a phone visit or an in person visit for our 24 week appointment. Looking forward to only having to wait 3 weeks until we can hear baby’s heartbeat again 🥰 The 10 weeks in between in person visits last time was WAY too long for this anxious FTM.
Questions? None this week!
GTKY: What's your best/favorite childhood memory? My family used to vacation to Wisconsin Dells every summer for a long weekend with all of our cousins. It was always my favorite weekend of the year! ☀️
Upcoming Appointments: Fetal Echo next Monday and phone visit a week from Thursday
Rant/Rave: I'm feeling pretty large and in charge just the past couple of days, but also am feeling much more movement, so that's good.
Questions? I haven't had a phone visit yet. I am guessing I'll need a scale and blood pressure machine? Anything else?
GTKY: What's your best / favorite childhood memory? Oh man.... My mom is one of 9 children so I have 25 first cousins. We would have epic family reunions during the summers and they were just the best. Other than that, on a smaller scale, I just had an overall great childhood. I shared a bedroom with my sister and remember so many great nights before bed of our parents reading to us. My mom would do chapter books and my dad would make up stories to put us to sleep.
Rant/Rave: I can't wait to not to come to work anymore! Also feeling so many more kicks!
Questions? Not that I can think of!
GTKY: What's your best / favorite childhood memory? I always enjoyed Christmastime when I was a kid. My did a ton of little traditions and just made the season so special.
Rant/Rave: our AS went great last week! It was so fun seeing him do acrobatics in there. Also I’ve been feeling him kicking in response to his big brother’s loud voice. Unfortunately my sciatic pain is at an all time high. I’m about to go back to the chiropractor but it seems that any exercise I do makes it flare up, even just taking a walk. I’m not ok with not being active for the next 19 weeks, so I’ll have to see what else I can do.
Questions?
GTKY: What's your best / favorite childhood memory? Christmas at my grandma’s was magical. She went all out on the decorations and the food and gifts. She passed in my 20’s but she’s definitely one of the reasons I love to decorate and make Christmas magical for my son ❤️.
Rant/Rave: I’m super excited for the AS this week, can’t wait to find out the gender!! On a side-note, my mother is already insisting that our whole family (i.e. about 20 people) will see the baby the first week its born 🙄 She’s saying that its tradition, and due to the fact that I’m living with them and she will be helping with the baby, I’m trying to be respectful. However, I keep reminding her that it’s my choice, and my baby, and that if I’m not comfortable with just general germs or covid worries that the family may have to wait a bit!!
Questions? None off the top of my head!
GTKY: What's your best / favorite childhood memory? We used to go apple picking almost every year with my cousins. I loved climbing all the trees and getting hot cider and cinnamon donuts after 🍎🍂🍩
Week of pregnancy: 20 finally almost over the hill
Baby is the size of:banana
Upcoming Appointments: the first of august . I had my ultrasound and all is well with cervix /baby thank god! My midwife really freaked me out last Monday and I was thinking the worst . Bedrest and an emergency cerclage ( very similar story with the twins ) and I was a hot mess all week . Thankful none of that is in the cards !
Rant/Rave: @surlyjaneausten what does sciatic pain feel like ? My entire pelvic region / groin basically where the end gets of a bathing suit would go is so sore it’s awe full ! It was like this with the twins but I just figured well twins ... exercise is pretty painful and by exercise I mess normal chasing toddlers around all day . Maybe I need to get it checked out ?

GTKY: What's your best / favorite childhood memory?
I was raised by my momma and I remember every time it snowed on the way home my sister, mom and I would loudly sing Christmas songs all the way home like no one was watching ! Good times
@ecolton01 mine is a shooting pain on the left side of my butt when I take a step. For me it’s localized in the piriformis muscle. I wonder if you’re dealing with pelvic girdle pain? I’d definitely mention it to your care provider!
Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan Thursday! DH gets to tag along, so this will be his first glimpse at the little babe. Hoping it cooperates so we can find out gender and start thinking of names.
Rant/Rave: I've been feeling a lot more consistent movement these past few days, so that has been comforting!
Questions?
GTKY: What's your best / favorite childhood memory? Christmas/the month of December. My mom would come up with daily activities (from watching "A Christmas Story" to driving around looking for Christmas lights) that filled up the entire month. Christmas Eve my parents would get my sisters and I new pajamas, and we would have a race to see who could unwrap the gift and get changed into the pajamas the quickest. Whoever won got to read The Night Before Christmas to the rest of the family. 😊
Upcoming Appointments: Regular prenatal check up/follow up from AS last week, next Wednesday. Follow up AS with High Risk DR to check little bits’ growth next Friday.
Rant/Rave: My husband still hasn’t been able to come with to any appointments (with the exception of the NIPT at 12 weeks or whatever). I’m so frustrated and especially more so now that we’re having some concerns. I wish they would be a bit compassionate and let me have someone with me for support. Rave: I’ve been feeling baby girl A LOT lately. Especially last night. Just about everytime I got up to pee, she’d wiggle around in there. I think at one point I counted 10 little thumps within a minute. She’s going to be a night owl like her daddy.
Questions? Not this week! 🥰
GTKY: What's your best / favorite childhood memory? Every Friday when I got dropped off for school, my dad would tell me “It’s Friday, pizza day, sevvy day!”. Which meant the obvious — it’s Friday, the end of the week. But it was also the day they served pizza at school for lunch, and payday for him so after being picked up from daycare after school, he would drive me to the convenience store around the block and let me pick a treat. Seriously the best sort of ‘tradition’ that bonded me a little extra with my dad. Can’t wait to see what kind of Pop Pop he becomes.
Baby is the size of: the rose from Beauty and the Beast 🌹😍
Upcoming Appointments: I don't remember! Sometime in week 24.
Rant/Rave: NAMING A KID IS SO HARD. That is all. Oh, and pregnancy brain. 🙄
Questions?
GTKY: What's your best / favorite childhood memory? So I've been thinking about this since I saw the question yesterday...I narrowed it down to 3. Yearly trips to Ocean city MD with my grandparents and cousin (we're 2 weeks apart in age so we got to go together and our older brothers are 6 weeks apart so they got to go together!), weekends at the lake near our family cabin, and Christmas Eve at my grandparents house!
Upcoming Appointments: had my AS today and everything was normal for me and baby . It was nice to see movements and the heart beating away. Husband joined via video call. Not the most ideal, but he got to see baby along with me.
Rant/Rave: OB confirmed anterior placenta which is fine and normal, but means I won't feel baby's movements as strongly. Kind of a bummer but I still like feeling the internal tickles
Questions?
GTKY: What's your best / favorite childhood memory? Some of my favorite memories are the big family gatherings at my grandparents when I was small and my closest cousins were still living in town. Usually lots of people, family and "family", celebrating a holiday or birthday together, plenty of food, kids getting up to kid nonsense, and grownups showering you with attention and silly stories.
Upcoming Appointments: reg OB not until 24wks, but MFM appt a week from today (7/21) and sometime next week going to PT to pick up/get fitted for a belly support belt (got measured yesterday and they're ordering me a custom one since I'm having twins 🤣)
Rant/Rave: nesting nesting nesting! We have a small area downstairs near our front door/stairs that historically been a catch-all for junk. I've been wanting to turn it into a baby-free play/reading nook for SD (9yo) for a while now. A few weeks ago we got the junk cleared out and today got it vacuumed/swept/mopped and started moving her toys down there. This way the girls room can be a DD safe play area without her getting into SDs legos and little stuff and SD can have a space all her own to "escape" to. Also switched DDs crib to a toddler bed setup. Wish me luck the transition goes well 🤞🤞🤞
Questions? Nope, loving feeling all the movement lately though.
GTKY: What's your best / favorite childhood memory? Hmm... Probably the "cousins weekends" my (at the time) childless aunt/uncle would do. My older siblings and I, along with my 2 older cousins would go over and instead of "gifts" at Christmas/birthdays they'd take us for a long weekend and do things: Circus, disney on ice, fancy tea time, skiing, etc.

Anatomy scan today! Hubby was able to come along. I think we JUST made it as far as being able to have another person at the appointment. The ultrasound tech said they were having a meeting after work to reevaluate the situation. Baby didnt want to cooperate so I have to go back for another scan in 4 weeks, but we were able to find out baby is a GIRL!
