The medical system is a twatwaffle, especially private hospitals.
I work at a private hospital in TX and we are overflowing with COVID pts. We are out of ICU nursing capacity. We had to cancel our big surgery for a patient with cancer bc she needed a postop ICU bed. Meanwhile, bariatric cases continue to be done since they only need a floor bed usually.
Admin doesn't care about the safety of these patients they continue to bring in for "elective" surgeries (and many bariatric patients would be high risk for covid complications due to diabetes). They just care about continuing to make money. I realize it's a complicated problem (have to make money to keep a hospital open and keep caring for patients, etc.) but it's an unethical system IMO.
My H was the TW last night. When it was time for dinner my H said he wasn’t hungry yet, he wanted to eat after DD went to sleep, which is around 8pm. I snacked on whatever leftovers DD didn’t eat for her dinner to hold me over. Got DD to bed and things situated around the house, it’s 8:30 and I ask if he’s ready to eat yet...uhh he’s still not hungry...wtf??? Just let me know you didn’t want to eat dinner so I could have eaten at a reasonable hour! I am pregnant and get pretty hungry every 3 hours or so....
