Re: July Randoms

  • @carrotsandpeas3 ugh I had acid reflux last night. So gross.
  • Loading the player...
  • @carrotsandpeas3 @BabyCakes3 Yup. It’s horrible. Makes me puke if I let it go too long before taking a tums.
  • only delivery pizza has given me acid reflux so far and I’m really hoping it stays that way.
  • We’re at the zoo! @anitamargarita_82 our arrival time was 9:30-10:30 and we arrived at 10. Line looked long but that’s mostly because everyone was spaced. It was less than 10 minutes. They are not letting people in before their arrival time—someone in front of us had 10:30-11:30 and they were asked to stand off to the side and wait. They are scanning barcodes, not looking it up manually.
  • That mittendorf calculator put me at Oct 22nd (40+4), which ugggghhh I don't want to go overdue. But, that would be kinda cool because that's Zac Hanson's birthday lol (I'm a hardcore Hanson fan and proud of it!).

Due with baby #2: Feb 2022

  • @mamahosch those first gifts are always so exciting!

Guys, the pumpkin swaddle with the headband was still available so I got it! Today's my son's birthday and it's been busy. Honestly can't wait for the day to be over lol. So much stuff to do even for the smallest party. I don't know why I just didn't cater food and decided to make pizza from scratch even if it's just us and my in laws...

@kalesix3  I'm glad that your scan looked good!

  • @kalesix3 I’m glad to hear your little looks good!   That must bring some reassurance to you!

I can’t remember what thread we were discussing comfy jammies in but I bought these today in the store and they’re absolutely amazing.  So soft!  I got 3 pairs so I have some extra comfy things to essentially live in after this little guy comes home.  The price is right too!
  • MH made it to Texas, and this is so dumb, but I keep fixating on him getting sick and hospitalized while there. He has promised me that he doesn't plan on doing anything besides visiting his family and that he will wear a mask if they leave the house at all. I don't like it when he's gone overnight in general, so I think I'm just letting the anxiety compound.

I'm also exhausted after my first day solo with DD since he left, and I'm trying to go to sleep and my neighbor just starting mowing their grass. It's 9:15, and I'm super annoyed. 🙄 Guess I'm that person now.
  • @anitamargarita_82 those look so so comfy, thank you for the recommendation!
  • @carrotsandpeas3 SA has a mask requirement city wide anyway so he should be okay for the few days he’s going to be there. Try not to worry about it too much! Not to mention there were a lot of closures this weekend so I think a lot of people are going to stay home because of it.
  • @carrotsandpeas3 I know exactly what you mean. I hate when my boyfriend travels, and right now is even worse. He usually travels every weekend all spring. This year we were lucky (in that regard, not lucky the pandemic hit) because they canceled almost all his travel. It completely ceased when the shutdown happened.

Good luck getting through the weekend. Hopefully you can do a little something for yourself tomorrow for your birthday. Even if it’s just ordering your favorite food.
  • @aefsparrow Don't feel bad about hoping for a specific day or range of days. I hope the doctor works with you on the date. I have a couple of days I absolutely do not want that are in the week timeframe they're suggesting currently, and I'd honestly rather go about 4 days earlier that what they're saying so I don't have one child right before the cut off date for school here and one right after (thus 3 years apart but 4 grades). And that is definitely not as good a reasoning as you have. Lol.
If it's any help, we were scheduling a 39 week c-section for my son (because he was breach) and he gave me a couple dates to pick from, one of which was 38+5.
  • I need that pumpkin swaddle, so cute! Where is everyone getting it?

@kalesix3 so glad everything went well with the ultrasound.

I had DD1 at 40+3, DD2 I was induced at exactly 37w, so I have no idea what to expect for this one. I think she’ll be an Oct baby though, I’m not due til the 19th.

Today is my birthday. We are just going to my parents to swim and BBQ. Happy birthday to @carrotsandpeas3 also!
  • @coldbrew here you go! The one with the hat is sold out, but since you’re having a girl the headband one is still in stock! :) also happy birthday!!!!

  • @coldbrew thank you! Happy birthday to you as well! We are twinsing with DD1 here born at 40+3 as well. I'm expecting just as late with this one (but who knows really) and due on 10/21, so we could be similar there too!
  • Speaking of due dates, DH just got his elk tag for hunting in the mail and I saw his dates listed as 10/10-10/14. He just assumes this baby is coming early since DS did and I’m measuring ahead, but for all we know the baby could be late. My EDD is 10/23! I’m not sure why he requested to hunt first season, but he’s going to be out of luck if this baby isn’t born before those dates!
  • Happy birthday July ladies! Celebrations for my son went well, he has been a total peach around the grandparents of course...part of me wishes they could experience at least one full toddler meltdown 😂

We took some pictures yesterday and I feel so huge. Also really need to get on a routine with my yoga and daily walks since it seems like working out and lifting at this point is kind of out of the equation 😳
  • Happy birthday @coldbrew and @carrotsandpeas3 and all the other early July-ers! Hope everyone finds something fun to do. Yesterday I had a prenatal appointment, did some pool time, and got takeout.
  • @amapa20 mine is on Monday.
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • @wineren thank you! I just keep feeling a little guilty about that hope... then the little bit kicks me in the lung and I feel a little less guilty lol. My husband just shakes his head at me... but birthdays and the months of October- December are my favorite!
  • I had a bit of a scare today and spent the afternoon in L&D for contractions.
They stopped and they think I was just dehydrated. All tests came back negative and no preterm labor! Definitely taking it easy this weekend though
    Me: 27 DH: 27
    Married 6/15/13
    BFP #1 5/8/16, EDD 12/31/16- DD born 9/10/16 at 24 weeks
    ~In our hearts forever~
    BFP #2 10/14/17, EDD 7/1/18

  • @profmcgonagall glad it was good news!! Yes take it easy :)
  • @ProfessorMcGonagall Oh no! Definitely take it easy for awhile!
  • Thanks all!

@ProfessorMcGonagall I’m glad it wasn’t PTL! I had issues a few times in the past from being dehydrated.
  • @profmcgonagall Yikes! I had that issues twice with DD. I’ve been super proactive about chugging water like my life depends on it this time to avoid any hospital visits. I get dehydrated pretty easily especially in our humid climate here. Glad to hear it turned out okay.
  • Have you guys seen this video of a fetus moving at 20 weeks?!?! I’ll admit I’ve watched it multiple times. After watching it I’m surprised I haven’t felt more movement.
  • @animalandplantrescuer With my first, I had not felt him moving yet before my AS, and I was BLOWN AWAY by his activity. Just incredible. (I think baby brother might have been sleeping during his scan because he was much more mellow.)
  • It’s so crazy how much movement you don’t end up feeling. I remember with DD getting a sonogram done at 36 weeks and I would see her move and feel nothing 50% of the time. It was so crazy to think there was movement I wasn’t feeling.
  • @profmcgonagall so glad you're ok! I'm trying to drink more but my son loves my water bottle and constantly steals it...
  • @profmcgonagall oh no! I'm sorry for the extra stress but I'm so glad you and baby are doing well now! Hopefully no more scares come up, they're no fun!
@animalandplantrescuer I love that video! I read at this point baby is the size of a cantaloupe and your uterus is the size of a basketball but in my case I feel it's the opposite case! My baby has such huge movements all day long I'm a little afraid for my 30+ week self 😅
  • @baseballismyfavoriteseason Yeah mine was sleeping. My placenta is also anterior, so the ultrasound tech was shocked at what I couldn’t feel when she was moving.
  • @animalandplantrescuer that video is amazing! This baby moves a lot more than my other 2 did. I think there are so many variables to movement!
  • KurtniKurtni member
@animalandplantrescuer that baby looks giant (like baby to mom’s spine ratio) for 20 weeks! I believe it though, I feel a lot of movement but not half of what we see during ultrasounds. So cool!

  • Who else is OCD and lists all the onesie types they have??? I am feeling super overwhelmed after going through the 4 bags of hand me downs AND my son's stuff which I had already minimized. So today I literally wrote down how many of each type I have because I tend towards minimalism and our house is not huge so I kind of want to keep enough but not too much. Here's a picture of (part of) my friend's clothes after I sorted them 😳

  • Happy Fourth everyone! Hope you're having a wonderful day, covid style!
@anitamargarita_82 that made my whole day 😂
@morethanamama If I had hand me downs, a detailed list is the only way I'd keep my sanity, so you're not alone!! I need to do inventory and get a better idea of how much more of everything I need to get before it's baby month!
