Here's a good question - where's the cheapest place/way to buy FRERs? Are cheapie Wondfos worth it or are they not sensitive enough for early testing? My mind went a little crazy last week in the TWW so I'm thinking I should actually start testing early so save myself

@inthewoods23 Both the regular wondfos and pregmates can detect as low as 25miu/ml, if you get the Wondfo early result they're about as sensitive as FRERs (10miu/ml). I have several friends who swear by the pregmates over wondfos. I personally try to not test with a more expensive test (like a frer) unless I'm late or I have a convincing line on a cheapie.

@ashaislurking all I have right now is 1 FRER, 1 dollar store test, and a 2 pack box of digitals. I'm holding onto that FRER like my life depends on it lol. Is the Pregmate also early result? I've been liking their OPKs

@inthewoods23 They're 25mIU/ml which is still fairly early detection. I know people who have gotten results on those around the same time as FRERs even though FRER claims to be much more sensitive (around 10mIU/ml).

@ashaislurking does that also go for easy@home? I’m in the Premom group and the number of vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvfl “positives” I’m seeing are insane! It’s almost annoying. I bought FRERs and FR digitalis, too, because I just didn’t feel like I could fully trust the easy@home pregnancy tests based on what I’m seeing.

@chindimples04 A quick google says that easy@home is the same 25mIU/ml sensitivity as mentioned about wondfos above.
TW prior pregnancy

They are what I've used previously. It detected a squinter at 10DPO and was definitely positive at 11DPO (according to FF, although my OB moved my ovulation date up a day when she looked at my chart at my first appointment, so the squinter was 11DPO and the clear positive was 12DPO). I then continued to track as the line got darker b/c I had O'ed on CD37 so I took quite a few of them since with an O that late, my OB was worried I was having a CP.

With DD I got a squinter the night of 10dpo with a Wondfo and then got a positive on a digital (CB) the next morning. So I tend to trust Wondfos and for the price they can't be beat. With FRERs I have had some bad indents this go round

Just to add - I used the Wondfo Early Response last cycle and was pretty happy with them. They’re still not as sensitive as a FRER, but I definitely saw a difference from my Pregmates I’ve used in the past.

Speaking of tests, have y'all seen that clear blue now has pink dye tests? (I feel like we've talked about this somewhere... maybe weekly randoms a while back?)

@inthewoods23 It started with a tiktok thing either late last year or early this year. The misinformation spread like wildfire among teens and young adults and, well.... here we are!

@ashaislurking I've never had to use plan B in my life (haha...ha...) But isn't it a pretty small pill? Much smaller than this disc in the test?

@inthewoods23 I think the bottom of the picture is where the white part would be that you pee on, the thin white thing is where the pee goes to be read, and the tab would be in the far back to collect any excess? I think? I don’t take pregnancy tests apart so... 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

@chindimples04 Yeah, the desiccant tabs are meant to absorb any excess moisture within the test which might include urine once the test is used. Also hella toxic. All around it's a bad idea.

What is the cheapest/ reliable opk's....I did read the "read this first" and I believe it said premom, but I thought I should ask you all. And how reliable is the app readings, for those that go with an app?

@inthewoods23 I buy my FRERs on amazon - it’s like $13 for a 3 pack? I think they are the same price at target but sometimes there is one of those coupons you peel off and use for I think $2 off? But I haven’t been inside target since March 13th so amazon it is!

@Kenneylynn3 I use the Wondfo OPKs are they are cheap and always super reliable for me.

@Kenneylynn3 I use the pregmate OPKs and they're very accurate for me. I also use the easy@home OPKs earlier in my cycle (mainly because I got about 300 of them for under $10 when they had a massive sale going on) but I find that they aren't as reliable. I use the Premom app to keep track of my OPKs and I like it. It keeps all of your OPK photos in one place so you can easily compare how dark they're getting.

I'm so on the fence about Proov strips. With a usual 15-16day LP, I'm not worried about low progesterone. My temps are a bit rocky and this may have been a 38 day cycle (with 19day FP and LP each) but this is the first time I've gotten actual solid cross hairs on FF. I admittedly have a hard time temping at the same time every day and don't see that changing (it's always between 4:15 and 6:30). I also just came off of BC and my body can take a bit to regulate (I O'ed on CD 37 last time I came off of BC). Thank you to everyone who commented over in the TWW. Just wondering if Proov would be good to help me confirm O next cycle since my temping won't be at the same time every day and my cycle was so wonky this time (I thought you can't have a LP longer than 18 days so I'm all confused - hence an-O possibly?). I'll throw my chart in the spoiler. I have 7 day AFs usually so if I get it today like I think I'm about to, I have a day or two to decide and still get it for cd 6 or 7 for a baseline.

I have a silly question cuz my brain is weird.

Our bodies recognize when an egg is released by producing progesterone. So... does it recognize when the egg gets fertilized? HCG isn't produced until the embryo has implanted, but would the ute/fallopian tubes recognize that there's a developing embryo?

I don't even know what I'm looking to gain by having this question answered

@inthewoods23 my gut says no, but who knows?? The reason I say that is because the body recognizes ovulation and implantation based on the physical changes inside the body. But when an egg is fertilized I feel like it’s just kind of floating in space and not affecting anything. So I’m not sure that the spaces that it’s floating between would know the difference between a fertilized egg and one that isn’t. But now you have me thinking about all the things we don’t know about the body and what if it does know the difference??

@inthewoods23 I think that's a question that scientifically can't be answered. My RE has repeatedly told me that as doctors they are so stupid on the knowledge of what the body does before and during implantation because there really is no clear way to know. Tests don't tell them anything because hormone levels don't really shift, like you said, until implantation. But this is why doctors don't know what goes wrong during implantation to cause an egg not to stick. It's crazy!!

@inthewoods23 I agree with@kpearse99. My RE is a brilliant woman, and she chalks up so much of this IF mystery to all that they still don’t know about conception etc. She said some studies suggest that the embryo does send out signals so that the body begins to make hCG even before the embryo implants, so that the body is prepped & implantation is more successful.

New to the forum so apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to post this. And I know this has probably been discussed before but I’ve been using the Clear Blue Advanced Digital Ovulation test. It’s my first time using any OPK and today is my 6th day of the flashing smiley (high fertility). The very first test I took was the empty circle and since then have been all high fertility/flashing smileys. I also ordered the Pregmate OPK just as a “second opinion” and have had only negative results for the past 2 days (testing AM & PM) when the CB says high fertility. Would love to know others experience with this type of thing. I also didn’t start testing until the 13th day of my cycle. So maybe I missed my O...? And like I said, just starting this TTC journey and first time OPK user so maybe I am naive on all of it! Thank you for helping as I learn!

Hey @knottieee3d27eedc3202c2 We have an OPK Help Thread pinned to the top of the board where you could also post this. Between the two threads I'm sure someone will be able to help you out! I also recommend changing your username. There are a couple ways you can do that. One, log in using your Bump info over at theknot.com and change your username there OR you can send an email to support@thebump.com if logging in at The Knot doesn't work for you. Individual usernames and photos help us get to know who's who and keep track of each other better as we move through our journeys together!

@knottieee3d27eedc3202c2 I was also going to suggest the OPK Help Thread would be the appropriate place to post this in. I myself too use the CB advanced digital ovulation tests when TTC and have had good luck with them and they are pretty bang on and accurate with the LH surge. I like them the best for OPKs even though they are more pricey. In the past I have had them show the flashing smiley (high fertility) for like 7 or more days in a row thinking I missed O day but I kept at it and used them and sure enough I would get my peak fertility smiley shortly after that and would O. You mentioned that you didnt start to use them till CD 13, is that the day the instructions told you to start on based on how long your period cycle is?? I usually start on the 8th or 9th day as my cycle was always clockwork 28 days.

@ashaislurking Thank you! I was trying to change the username because it’s so obnoxiously long with numbers but couldn’t figure out how.

@mindyb2019 I didn’t start testing until day 13 just because that’s when I actually was able to get tests. I think based on the directions it recommended starting day 9. But that’s promising to know others have seen up to 7 days of high.
