Re: Weekly Check In, Week 2 (10/8-10/14) 6/29

  • How far along are you? —25 weeks

    Due date?— 10/12

Upcoming appointments?— 26 week appt on 7/9

    Rant/rave?
Rave— 25 weeks pregnant and finally off nausea medicine!
Rant- DS (2) has had a fever this weekend and I’m worried about COVID. Just called his ped to see if he needs to be tested. His only symptom is a fever but I would hate to not check and possibly spread it.

    Questions?— none

GTKY: What is your go to 4th of July potluck dish? — Cowboy caviar. It’s a kind of salsa with corn, black beans, black eyed peas, pepper, onion, cilantro with olive oil; white wine vinegar and chili powder. It makes a ton and always goes over well

    Due date? 10/13

Upcoming appointments? Last monthly appointment next month and then I move to every two weeks 😬 Currently testing my blood sugar for a week to get out of the standard glucose testing

    Rant/rave?
    Rant: still not sleeping well
Rave: we’ll be finished putting in the flooring in our bedroom later this week. After that we’ll just have to do the living room and then we’re done 🎉

    Questions? None

GTKY: What is your go to 4th of July potluck dish? I don’t have a go-to dish for it. We also don’t typically do anything for 4th of July because DH and I really enjoy sleeping 😂 So if we do make something for 4th of July it really just depends on what recipe I’ve been dreaming about at that particular moment.

    Due date?10/12

    Upcoming appointments? End of july

    Rant/rave?
Rant: I miss sleep and this heat and humidity is rough.
Rave: started moving ds small clothes into space saver bags- the start to nursery tasks

Questions? Anyone have good ways to deal with the heat?

GTKY: What is your go to 4th of July potluck dish? I make lemon cupcakes with zucchini instead of oil and butter and the frosting is cool whip mixed with lemon jello packet and a blueberries on top. Easy to make and lighter desert.

    Due Date? 10/9

Upcoming Appointments: 28 week checkup and glucose screening test on 7/17

Rant: I had a bad pregnancy day yesterday, just let my anxiety get to me and stress me out. I’ve had anxiety problems in the past and I’ve been doing better than I thought I would while I’ve been pregnant, but yesterday was just a bad day for it.

Rave: We’re starting to really prepare to have a baby, we signed up for in-person parenting classes for the end of August and I think we’ve found our pediatrician, I’m going to call today and see if they’re allowing expectant parents to meet the pediatricians.

Questions: I’m really only feeling her move in my lower belly and even my pelvic area, only flutters anywhere else. She was breached at our US two weeks ago, but just feels weird I’m only feeling movement in that lower portion. Is that normal?

GTKY: 4th of July potluck dish? I make a lot of different potluck dishes, it depends on what everyone else is bringing or if someone requests something particular I make. My go-to’s are salsa and chip dip, sweet and spicy sausage bites, slow cooker meatballs, or baked zucchini with lemon and Parmesan

  • @profmcgonagall I really hope they let you get him tested and that if he is tested, it’s negative. We’ve actually got a lot of tests in my area, they’re basically telling anyone who even thinks they have it, even if they have no symptoms, to get tested
  • @ccstlln1, he doesn’t qualify for testing here with only one symptom. They think it might be Roseola and he started with a rash this afternoon so that’s likely what it is.

As to the movements, if she’s breech, then it’s likely you would feel the majority of movements down low. There is really no normal when it comes to baby kicks because we all carry differently and they can switch position pretty easily still at this point.

    Due date? 10/11

Upcoming appointments? glucose test in 3 weeks, bleh

Rant/rave? rant: I really want to get back into my workout habits, but I have such a hard time actually doing it. I think about it all the time but then I'm too tired! Rave: we have so much fun stuff planned for this week, I am so excited :)

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: What is your go to 4th of July potluck dish? We don't typically do anything that requires bringing food anywhere for the 4th- our town does a huge 4th celebration and we are usually there all day eating crap, ha. My regular potluck go-to is probably salted caramel pretzel cookies.

@profmcgonagall oh that sounds rough, how's your lil guy doing?
  • @jgrodo, he did much better yesterday. Almost himself and had more of an appetite. And I haven’t had to give him anything for a fever in over 24 hours now. I’m just grateful the worse part was over the weekend when DH was home

  • Sorry I've been MIA for a couple weeks being kicked out of TB and constant sleeping has kept me from posting.

How far along are you? 25 weeks

    Due date? 10/8

Upcoming appointments? Glucose screening and other labwork tomorrow and 28 wk app July 16th. My OBGYN is starting regular appointments again so I am hoping to finally hear baby's heartbeat for the first time! Kind of crazy that hasn't happened yet...

Rant/rave? I am not looking forward to going to the lab tomorrow. I booked the earliest time possible as they're reserving the first hour for only high risk/pregnant women. But I am excited to have a 3 day weekend and will hopefully get some much needed de-stressing time. Work has been crazy and I have seriously been falling asleep on the couch around 7:30 every night.

    Questions?

GTKY: What is your go to 4th of July potluck dish? I typically do salads, usually with cucumbers, raspberries, blackberries, goats cheese and any kind of vinaigrette. It's simple and looks festive! I hate cooking and my husband is usually in charge of food. My town typically does a big 4th celebration and we can watch the fireworks from our front porch, but they've postponed it this year. Honestly, I just want to watch the fireworks so I wish they were atleast doing that.
