Upcoming appointments: nothing fun- cardiologist on July 9.
How are you feeling: ennnnh. Ended up back in the hospital for fluids last week. I’ve lost more weight, doctor wants to see a gain next time or she said we will need to talk about more “interventions” -
Rants/Raves: we are headed on vacation next week. Staying safe- staying in my parents trailer at an RV park, cooking, remaining self contained. The state park has a river to swim in and lots of trails to walk so it should be nice!!!
Questions: any suggestions for upping potassium? (I don’t like bananas) my doctor said my levels were low, probably from the vomiting.
GTKY: Who is your favorite author? Charlotte bronte! I’ve read Jane Eyre like 50 times.
@the_road_to_oz. Lurking from another week, but would smoothies help? My friend was very sick while pregnant and she ended up drinking a smoothie daily. She got it made at a smoothie place, so they could add different ingredients and protein powder and such. Not sure how comfortable or accessible that is with the virus at the moment, but a thought. It is also easier for me to drink calories than eat them when I don't feel great. There are a number of potassium rich fruits and veggies that they could maybe put in them (I hear you on bananas!).
How are you feeling: Tired, but that's mostly because I've stayed up way too late the last few nights.
Rants/Raves: My family is coming to visit this weekend! My parents made my siblings stay at their house for 2 weeks to quarantine before they come out here. I haven't seen my parents since January and my other siblings since November, so I'm excited. I'm hoping for good weather so we can spend most of our time outside in the pool. Also - we went to a brewery with friends this weekend and it was a lot of fun. It's on a farm and they have picnic tables spread out under trees for shade so it was super easy to distance ourselves from everyone else there. It was so nice to see friends in person again. We're planning on meeting up again next month.
Questions: None
GTKY: Who is your favorite author? That's a really hard question - I read a LOT of books every year. Last year I read over 200 and that's the goal for this year too. I'm a big romance reader so right now a few of my favorites are Sarah MacLean, Kristen Ashley and Lisa Kleypas.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: Dec 29th, 13w6d (last day of 1st trimester!)
FTM/STM/STM+: FTM
Team Green/Pink/Blue: It's a boy
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a jalapeno pepper
Upcoming appointments: July 15th for just a checkup
How are you feeling: Good, still kind of tired. I think I might get excited and over-exhaust myself when I have the slightest bit of energy. Doesn't help that while kayaking last Thursday I got sideswiped by a thunderstorm so it was tough getting back to the dock.
Rants/Raves: Rant: was totally worthless yesterday, just wiped out Rave: husband cleaned the house since I was exhausted! Also smoked ribs on our grill for the first time, and they came out great. My husband was so happy while eating I thought his eyes were going to fully roll back into his head.
Questions: My husband has to go back into the office starting next week. It's only one day a week, but he'll probably be taking public transportation. Aside from the obvious (mostly things for him to do: wear a mask, carry hand sanitizer, wash hands) is there anything else we should do to avoid him getting sick or infecting me?
GTKY: Who is your favorite author? There's a bunch, but I always love Erik Larsen. Nonfiction that reads like a novel
@the_road_to_oz Lots of in-season produce suggestions here (apricots, melons, cucumbers, zucchini, eggplant), plus things like beans and fish. Also tomatoes, particularly concentrated tomatoes (puree, sauce, etc).
Ooh, maybe you could do some sort of cod, tomato (chunks and paste/sauce), and white bean dish, I Googled and tons of good-looking recipes came up, serve with some steamed broccoli. Or ratatouille (tomato sauce, zucchini, eggplant)? It's great on polenta or crusty bread.
@akoros. Apparently I am just being the creepy lurker today and need to go post on my own week's board. I also work outside the home with a large number of people. When I get home, I put my clothes in the laundry and take a shower immediately. Might be overkill, but that is what my father who works in a hospital does.
@akoros yum - now I want to make ratatouille on polenta! We have zucchini and yellow squash growing in our garden, hopefully we'll get some eggplant in our CSA.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 14 weeks 6 days. Dec 22

Rants/Raves: had an appointment today and it took 1min and 12 seconds to find the heart beat. It felt like 10 minutes in the moment I was terrified. Glad she finally found it and baby is healthy!
