Re: Anyone still active??

  • @wildrainbow awwww <3 I'm so sorry you're going through this :(  I wish I could give you a big old creepy stranger hug.  Your fears are so justified.  This is a bit earlier than baby 2, correct?  I imagine it's even scarier with having been through some of this before.  I hope you don't have to  wait by yourself much longer and that YH gets there quickly and is able to help you keep more calm.  You are such a warrior momma!  You and baby boy can do this <3  Just remember there is an end in sight and you will have your little guy there soon and will be able to see your boys at home again in no time.  Plus, you should be feeling a heck of a lot better soon too!

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts Yeah, this babe is my earliest. Ds1 was born at 35w and ds2 was born at 36. I am hopeful H will be able to get off a little early so he can get here. My sister sent me a coloring book, which was nice. I look to color when I'm stressed. Or crochet, but I don't have any of that with me.
  • Loading the player...
  • @wildrainbow hugs too. I’m glad to hear that your dh will definitely be allowed there with you during the birth. Fingers crossed that he can get back to you today, like, now.

What are you coloring right now? What is your coloring instrument of choice? Markers, pencils, crayons?
  • @highsteaks All the gift shop had was Star Wars, so that's what I got. I have crayons and pencils.
  • @wildrainbow I'm glad you have a coloring book to occupy some of your time. Star wars rocks ❤hoping YH is there by now 🤞
Thinking of you all and hoping for a smooth delivery and recovery ❤❤❤

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts I feel ok. I had some nausea and vomited when I got in my room.  I'm also itching like crazy. crazy.

Baby boy is doing really well! He is on bubble CPAP, with room air and a peep of 4.

  • Wow, @wildrainbow, he is big for 32 weeks and so totally adorable! Absolutely incredible. Very happy to hear he’s doing great!

I hope the nurses can hook you up with some stuff to make the itching go away. How’s the nausea now? Sending wishes for a quick recovery. I hope you’re getting downtime to rest.

@wildrainbow 😍😍😍❤❤❤ be still my heart! He is beautiful! I'm so happy to hear he's doing well! He is a big little dude especially for 32 weeks! My nephew (B/H twin) was under 5 and born at 35wks!

I'm so sorry to hear about the nausea/vomiting :( hopefully that has subsided! And I pray they gave you something for the itchies! Is it from the cholestasis? Btw, do you mind if I share the news with the other Nov '18 ladies in the FB group?

How has pumping been going so far today (that is if you are pumping)? I ended up having to EP for DD she had an itty bitty bird mouth and never latched well.

Hoping for the fastest of recoveries and that baby boy does excellent and is in your arms asap ❤

@lurvleybunchococonuts honestly, it’s been a rollercoaster since they learned to walk :D aside from the revolving door of seasonal yuckies this past winter, health-wise the twins are doing great. emilia was the one with the kidney malformation in-utero: we’re keeping tabs on it with the specialist and it hasn’t become an issue yet thank goodness knock on wood. they are both petite still, but staying firm on their growth curves. total opposites in every way (except looks) and lordy fighting over toys and me all the time lately. i am frazzled. back when I was still taking dd1 to preschool and the twins weren’t fairly self-sufficient yet it was such a crazy, mile-a-minute, busy time for me. now life has slowed down and there’s more flexibility to do stuff but nowhere to go; we’re all getting stir crazy from this dumb pandemic. catch-22 lol and  :'(
    eta pic in spoiler
eta2– i had to go back and check the birth announcement thread for your dd1’s name— how could i forget Lulu!?! love that name. how is Lulu doing?
  • @highsteaks awww they are so adorable ❤❤ I can imagine they're quite the handful. I know I'm in for a roller coaster once the twins get here along with a 2yo DD! The pandemic definitely has been nice for the slowdown aspect but the stir crazies are soooo hard especially rambunctious toddlers! So glad to hear the Emilia's kidney issue hasn't been problematic so far!

I don't know if you and offtoneverland kept in touch but her DD2 was in NICU and had surgery to have one kidney removed not long after birth. I know they've had a bit of a time fighting UTIs and a subsequent surgery to fix her ureter and is also fairly petite. She's doing great overall though!

Funnily enough Talulla, initial nickname Lulu has now morphed into Lula or Lu although MH likes to call her TJ. She's doing great! She is such a stubborn, wild, and silly girl. She loves baths and anything outside, especially if it involves dirt, sand, grass, or rocks 🤣 and goodness she is SO independent and starting to talk up a storm. I half fear that once my twins are born and starting to talk that they will develop their own twin language that only Lula can understand and all three will be plotting against me with Lu as the mastermind 🤣😂

SD (9yo) is doing great and she and DD are so sweet together. She is such an amazing big sister. Perk of the pandemic is we've been getting her every other week since school closed vs every other weekend during the school year 🙌 she has grown up soooo much over the past year and is a total pre-teen one moment and still such a little girl the next 😍

Thankfully with state parks being back open we've been able to get out a bit more recently and have gotten to go swimming and fishing and camping and hiking which has been great!

I'll spam some pics in spoiler ❤

SD & DD (don't let the closed eyes fool you, she was up running around like a crazy girl moments after that pic was taken) 🤣

She is in deperate need for a trim for her bangs if her hair isn't pulled up and back but I can't bring myself to cut her hair at all yet 🤣🤦🏻

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts Yes, feel free to share and tell them all hey from me.  As of last night,  he was taken off the CPAP and put on regular cannula 25% O2 at 4 liters. I didnt pump yesterday,  mostly because I couldn't sit all the way up to do it.  So,  I'm hoping I will be able to start today.  He may end up under the bili lights,  waiting on labs to confirm that.
  • @wildrainbow yay! moving from CPAP to cannula is a good thing right? 🙌 good work baby boy ❤ hoping his labs come back okay although bili lights generally are no big deal. DD was a glowworm for about two days after we got released to come home. It was so heartbreaking at the time but barely just a bump in the road in hindsight. I hope you're able to be up and about and with him soon.

Ooooh 🤦🏻 I didn't even think about sitting up after a c-section and pumping! Take care of yourself momma ❤ I hope you're able to be up a bit but after everything do not overly stress yourself! Hoping the itchiness has gotten better also!

Wonderful! I will let the other ladies know, I didn't want to update them without your okay and potentially have an influx of them coming back here to contact you and be too overwhelming ❤

I assume DS 1 & 2 haven't been able to come visit due to the covid percautions? I hope you get to see them again asap!

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts No the boys can't come up here,  so they are with my dad. Just got my catheter out,  so I can start moving around soon,  which I'm happy about.  NICU opens at 8, and i plan to be there right around then.

Yes, moving from CPAP to cannula is a great thing because he is controlling his breathing!
  • @wildrainbow ugh... I hate that your boys can't come to see you, but glad they're able to be with your dad!

YAY! No more catheter 🙌 🎉🍾 I'm so glad you can be down at NICU and get to be with him soon 😍😍😍 YESSS!!!! For controlling his own breathing! Good work baby! Keep going going going! 💪

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts that smile! she definitely looks like a charmer. thanks for sharing. gosh, she looks so grown! spam all the pictures!!

we’re constantly pushing or blowing hair out of their eyes too. i think i waited too long to start putting their hair up in a whale spout because they hate when i do it now and either pull them out themselves or chase each other around and pull them out for each other  :D

i’ve been meaning to send a pm to @offtoneverland to check in on how S is doing! i think the last i heard, she mentioned the docs talking about the ureter surgery, but she had not done it yet. glad to hear that’s behind them and she’s doing well.

@wildrainbow i’m so impressed little one is already controlling his breathing! fingers crossed that he’ll fast track his NICU graduation, but I know it’s a long process to that point. are you able to hold him or is it still too early? are the postpartum nurses taking good care of you, too? they better be.

did your new bmb go crazy with the news? i remember how real everything got here when our first bmb baby arrived suddenly!

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts Omg!! Lu is adorbs and she looks like trouble, lol.

@highsteaks We are on a private group now for whatever reason,  so it was more shock than anything.  I can't hold him. They are wanting minimal interaction since he's still in a danger for brain bleeds. He's been really alert,  he opened his eyes when he heard me talk earlier.
  • H went to see baby B and got some good pics of his hair!  Y'all,  met my third redhead!

  • @wildrainbow I'm so sorry you haven't gotten to hold him yet, but that makes sense for the brain bleed risk. Oh my heart ❤ at him openong his eyes up and being alert when he heard your voice 😍 he knew his momma was there.

Thank you 😊 Lula definitely is trouble with a capital T 😂 problem is that she knows she's cute and has everyone wrapped around her little finger! She is such a character! It's fascinating how opinionated a toddler with (relatively) few words can be 🤣

@highsteaks I know she looks like such a kid these days! Where did my baby go? 😭 she looks soooo much like my older sister who passed away this past summer especially her smile ❤😍 Keeping her hair up is pretty hit or miss. If I put it up while wet she seems more apt to leave it be than if I do it while her hair is dry. But she loves pulling out her hair ties and bows.  That is so funny that the twins pull them out of each others hair😂

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts He is doing OK. He had a rough day of it the other day. Yesterday, they switched his CPAP to the vent one instead of the bubble. That really helped him. He wasn't working nearly as hard, and he was able to rest. I'm hoping he can stay on it for a bit and rest, because he needs it. I am ok. I got discharged yesterday, which was bittersweet since I didn't have him. I got some good sleep, which I needed. My milk is finally coming in, so hopefully I can start keeping up with his feeds fully.

    How are you?
  • I had the best visit today!! B peed all over his isolette and soaked everything. The nurse had to change everything, so i got to hold him!! Omg, it was soooo amazing!! H was so jealous. He just laid there and listened to me talk, and I'm pretty sure I O'd on oxytocin.

  • @wildrainbow *hugs* glad you got some good sleep! Being discharged without him must have been rough 😔 I'm glad he's not having to work so hard and getting to rest more ❤ hooray for your milk coming in!

That is the absolute BEST news ever 😍😍😍 I am sooooo glad you got to hold him! Good job peeing everywhere baby! 😊

We're doing good here. The twin belly is getting more and more out of control every day 🤣 DD is a maniac child lol. Her new favorite game is to blow raspberries on &/or lick my stomach 🤦🏻

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts We haven't picked up the boys yet. I need to heal a bit more, and maybe get off the pain pills before they come home. Ds2 won't understand why I can't pick him up. So, we might get them Sunday or later next week. My dad and stepmom are eating up the time with them.

Twin belly!! I still can't believe you're having twins. I'm so ridiculously excited.
  • @wildrainbow ahhh that makes sense! I'm glad your dad & stepmom are having fun with them :) Definitely rest and heal up! DD gets so mad lately when I do short ups and then hand her off to dad. She's 30 lbs plus the twins is a bit too much for longer treks.

My 20 week pics from DD popped up as 2 years ago today aand they made me laugh cause my belly was sooooo tiny IMO.

Ughh... The heartburn is unreal tonight 😔

@lurvleybunchococonuts Omg! Your belly is so cute!! Isn't it funny how that works? My belly this go round, like the week I delivered B, I was as big as I was with ds2!! I will add the pics in spoilers, I can't believe it.

Eta, actually looking at the photos, I was bigger at 32 weeks with B than I was ds2, holy crap!

    Me 32+1, with B

Me at 35 weeks with ds2, about 1 week before delivery

  • @wildrainbow it is crazy! Your belly photos are too sweet ❤ that red dress in your 2nd photo is adorable! MH is constantly reminding me there's two of em in there this go round but it's so bizarre how big my belly is now compared to DD. How've you been feeling?

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts I'm ok. Still sore, but I'm overdoing it a bit,  so there's that.  I think I'm gonna crochet NICU a bunch of hats.  I made one for B yesterday and it did a lot to center me, so I may make a bunch.  It will get through my stash for sure,  lol.

  • @wildrainbow awww that's a great idea ❤ it looks nice and cuddly 😍 and a good way to go through fomr excess yarn :) I haven't crocheted or knit since I was pregnant with DD 🤦🏻 it's difficult because she's always into everything.

  • Woohoo!! That is awesome. I highly recommend the Spectra pump, fyi. That thing is made of magic. I pumped 4 oz in one sitting yesterday. It was crazy.

My Lefty is all cut, fried, and tied. Lol. I told my dr he was tying Lefty up, and his comment was, and I quote, "No, not Lefty!" Sometimes, having a dr that thinks and acts like you is both awesome and terrifying. But really it is very calming when shit's hitting the fan.
  • @wildrainbow the spectra is the bomb! I have to check my spectra from DD and see if it's still in working condition and I'm debating if I get a 2nd spectra or if I get a freemie system for the convenience with the twins. I'd love to try a Willow or Elvie but no way am I shelling out $500 for a pump I don't know will work well for me.

That's great to have a dr with a good sense of humor. My OB and her nurse are great. My favorite thing to tell them is everything hurts and I'm dying so it's a typical day in the life of pregnancy.

If I keep leaking closer to my due date I might ask my OB about pumping short sessions or hand expressing to start collecting some of the colostrum to freeze for once the twins are born.

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts Yay! My good friend and I were pregnant at the same time, she is due in 2 weeks. I was due 4 weeks after her. I teased her that we would prolly be delivering together, but joke's on her, I won that race! Ok, that was a terrible joke, but that is where I'm at now, lol.

Congrats to your cousin, that is awesome!

I feel like you lose something important of you can't laugh or have fun with your doctors. They hold your health in their hands, the least you can do is provide the entertainment.
  • Omg!! Today, was the best day ever!! I got to hold him!! 7 long days! Tomorrow skin to skin!!

  • @wildrainbow aaahhhhh YAY 😍😍❤❤ that's the BEST! Has YH gotten a chance to hold him yet? Or just momma? I'm so excited for you to get to do skin to skin tomorrow! Did you pee yourself in excitement? 😆
