How are you feeling this week?

Okay, tired but mostly good tired. Been doing a lot of cleaning, tidying, decluttering type nesting so it feels good to have a little momentum with all that.

Rants/Raves? Questions?

I finally pulled the trigger on a few maternity dresses from pink blush, and I'm pretty excited for them to come in! Also scored what I'm hoping will be a super soft, possibly semi-comfy mask from Solly baby. If I have to wear something in triage, I at least want it to be something tolerable. I also scored an organic cradle mattress at some random website bc it was such slim pickings on Amazon! So now all I need is the cradle. 😄 I'm a bit annoyed how the toddler step stools I've been looking at keep going out of stock, and I feel like I'm going to have to break down and get some of that stuff soon here, too. :/

Any upcoming appointments?

Chiro on Thursday, next MW appointment in a week.

GTKY: What activity instantly calms you?

Prayer or meditation. Does getting a massage count??? 🤣 Even a good hug does wonders.

• How far along/EDD? 35w – July 29th
• How are you feeling this week? Getting more uncomfortable every day but still manageable and kind of getting used to it. Peed myself again :# , but this time I knew what was going on, so no rushing to the hospital. Same thing, emptied my bladder and then walking from the restroom I felt this gush of fluid, so I guess this will happen multiple times from now.
• Rants/Raves? Questions? With a little more than a month to go I am still far from being ready!!! And now I know my due date is not going to be THE date, so I need to start working on having everything ready. Last MFM appointment confirmed my fibroids (4 total) are getting quite large and also an anterior placenta. The Dr said that considering that on top of the 3 previous surgeries for fibroids/endo he is leaning to agree with my OB and move my c-section 1 or 2 weeks. Starting this week I will have weekly appointments with both and I should have a final date probably in the next week or so. The baby is looking good, MFM is not really concerned about that, his decision is more based on trying to avoid an emergency c-section. I was a little disappointed and worried but he said nothing will assure no NICU time, but at 38/39 weeks he expects little to no time, if thing progress as they are and of course there are no complications after. So, I am just trying to breath and to convince myself that they are the experts and know better than me -similar feeling to listening to my RE while TTGP – also I am 35 weeks and need to be thankful I made it this far.
• Any upcoming appointments? MFM on Thu and OB on Fri.
• GTKY: What activity instantly calms you? Knitting! No need to say I knitted like 100 scarfs during the 2ww and first tri 😊

• How far along/EDD? 29w0d / Sept 8
• How are you feeling this week? Heartburn has been insane at night! And still achy.
• Rants/Raves? Questions? This little girl is funny and she definitely makes me a little nervous for what's in store when she's finally here. I guess she didn't like a sleeping position I was in the other night and she made it known. First, it was the normal light kicks. And then she gave a wallop of a kick, where all I could was laugh and rollover. She settled down once that happened. I'm like, ok little girl...we both have to share this body!
• Any upcoming appointments? OB June 30.
• GTKY: What activity instantly calms you? Music
@angelina1919 - so you really only have a 2-3 weeks before your little one is here! How exciting. I have a feeling I'll be in the same boat, not ready when I'm close to my date.

@BusinessWife - You've been busy! Good for you. I so want a massage! I've been wanting one for the last 3 months, but I'm still practicing social distancing. :(

@31magnolia for the longest all I ever left for were midwife appointments, anatomy scan, and one doctors appointment was converted to tele. So actually the chiro has been open this whole time (with limited hours and limited traffic, and not for normal well visits), I just didn't venture out for that till last week. Pain, and pain during pregnancy is something I have no doubt they would have seen me for the whole time, I just wasn't ready yet.

But they are doing masks and temp checks, just like at the midwife, so I feel pretty comfortable there. The massage would be at the same office. It's all still medical care, kwim? Especially given my hope not to need surgery, I'd say the benefit far outweighs the potential risk, which I feel is pretty minimal. Granted, the numbers have all been very, very low in my county. I'm not sure how it is in your area. :/
• How far along/EDD? 11/17 (19wks)
• How are you feeling this week? Still feeling pretty good. I’m having a harder time getting comfortable and falling asleep.
• Rants/Raves? Questions? We had our anatomy scan last week and found out that we are having a boy. It was so exciting to see him wiggling around in there! The placenta has moved off my cervix and is now in a posterior position. Also, I have been feeling him move for the last week. It’s been a great week!!
• Any upcoming appointments? I had an OB appointment today, and have a MFM appointment 7/15.
• GTKY: What activity instantly calms you? Reading works well.
@BusinessWife Massages are the best! I have one scheduled in 2 weeks, and can’t wait. My massage therapist sees pregnant women for the first appointment of the morning, so everything has been really well sanitized and no one else is there. She checks temps and wears a mask, so I feel like it’s as safe as possible.

@31magnolia Sorry about the heartburn. It’s the worst!

@angelina1919 Do you know at what point your fibroids started getting bigger? I have three, but so far they are not changing much. I’m hoping to avoid a c-section if possible, but it depends on if/how much they grow.
• @angelina1919 oh dear! Well at least now you know what's happening and you don't have to be so anxious about it!? That sounded like such an ordeal last time. I hear you on feeling so so super close; my mind has been racing with all these little things that need to be done... Sigh. At least I ordered a few things for the hospital bag, so that is helping me feel a little more calm. :)

@vetgirl2011 Congratulations on team blue! And on that wonderful placenta moving out of the way. 👍 All good things!
• @31magnolia - Nooo heartburn!!! Pepcid AC is working for me.
@vetgirl2011 - From the first scan with my OB at 13w. Then at the AS - 20w the MFM saw 4 with 2 getting larger and that has been my story since. All 4 are very visible now and even though they are not in the way of the incision they are close, same for the anterior placenta. Both Drs have mentioned it is normal that they grow and should shrink after the delivery. The main reason I am having a c-section is the previous surgeries (3), so if the issue is only fibroids I hope you can avoid it and have a natural birth.
• How far along/EDD? 19w5d - 11/13
• How are you feeling this week? Pretty good! The progesterone shots I have to do weekly give me a headache for 1-3 days so dealing with that over the weekends. I’m okay falling asleep but if I wake up during the night have so much trouble getting comfortable again and falling back asleep.
• Rants/Raves? Questions? Anatomy scan was last Friday and baby is looking great! We decided not to find out this time so closed my eyes during that part. OB said baby is measuring at the 63rd percentile and no amniotic band this time (had one with my daughter and she was measuring small at this point). I can’t believe I’m almost halfway there!!
• Any upcoming appointments? OB phone appt on July 10. I’ll get ultrasounds at 28 weeks and then every 2-3 weeks until I deliver to make sure there are no growth issues with this baby as I had some with my daughter.
• GTKY: What activity instantly calms you? It used to be baking (I baked SO much during my last pregnancy) but it’s tough to do with a toddler. Reading, taking a walk or getting hugs are my go tos right now
@vetgirl2011 yay for a great anatomy scan and having a boy!! So relieved the placenta has moved!

@31magnolia I’m right there with you with the social distancing still. I have been to target a few times, but during their “special hours” for high risk and it’s been so empty but it’s nice to get out and feel somewhat normal.
• @angelina1919 - Yes! My Pepcid Complete has stopped working. :( But to be fair this heartburn is like none other I've ever experienced. So the pepcid does tame it some. It just doesn't completely get rid of it like it used to.

@mtpbadger - We went to buy buy baby last week and I think it was just me and one other customer. But I haven't been to any grocery stores or anything like that. And you're right, it does feel good to get out the house.

@vetgirl2011 - Congrats on the baby boy!

@BusinessWife - Unfortunately, the numbers have gone up where I live. Ppl are not social distancing like they were before and only about half wear masks.

• How far along/EDD? 13 weeks! and Dec 31. Anyone else feel like pregnancy goes SO quick after you'd been trying for years? I was thinking about it yesterday, I will be pregnant for 1/3 the time we tried for this baby. Some friends who started TTC at the same time we did for number 2, are on their THIRD.
• How are you feeling this week? Back in the hospital day before yesterday for fluids. Feeling much better, but I keep losing weight. Hopeful second tri treats me a little better! Got a quick US and baby is sucking her thumb.
• Rants/Raves? Questions? Rant and a Rave - we had our gender reveal Sunday! It's a GIRL!!!!! Her name will be Claire-Ellen. So excited to have a boy and a girl!
Rant - My MIL posted the gender announcement on FB before I could. She did the same with my son's birth (actually - before I even MET him) so it brought up all kinds of negative emotions.
• Any upcoming appointments? US Friday!
• GTKY: What activity instantly calms you? home remodel. It drives my husband crazy because I get stressed and start ripping things apart. Last weekend I was annoyed (see above) so I swapped out the hardware in our bathroom for something more modern. He broke his back, I added a back splash to our kitchen.

@BusinessWife you'll have to let me know how pink blush is!
@angelina1919 we have known from the start that my due date is irrelevant. It's definitely a mental shift, especially that close to the end!
@31magnolia My son was like that! Opinionated. He didn't like the non-full panel maternity pants, didn't like the echocardiagram, (in fact, we got false negative results because he kept kicking the probe away.) had opinions on music... he's 4 and still like that! Get ready, lol! This baby seems to be more chill. My son at this stage would zip around the US screen, she just kinda wiggles occasionally and lays there sucking her thumb!
@vetgirl2011 congrats on a little boy! They are SO much fun. That's great the placenta shifted!!!
@mtpbadger No way could I have waited, lol!!! I was supposed to wait an extra four days from the NIPT results to the gender reveal, and nope. I peeked.

• I'm going to skip the the format because this is a bit of an update. I got bloodwork on Monday and yesterday my dr called to say that I have severe Pre-E and Cholestasis. I was admitted yesterday and our original goal was to get to 34 weeks. That changed today based on my labwork taken yesterday, which my liver enzymes went from 200 to over 500 in just 24 hrs. Our new goal is 48hrs. I got my second steroid shot today so doc wants to give them 48hrs to work then he will take the baby. I'm looking at delivery on Friday unless my labwork tomorrow changes that.

The good news. Baby looks amazing and his growth scan yesterday showed him at 5lb7oz. Im 32+3 today. He's passed the NST with flying colors so I don't have to have 24hr monitoring, which is amazing. The other good news is that my blood pressure is amazing. It'd not high at all, which is prolly the only reason I didn't deliver yesterday. So, it's been a hard couple of days and I'm treading water, and trying to keep everything from falling apart. It sucks this is happening, and I'm beyond heartbroken.
• @wildrainbow I’m so sorry you are going through all of that. I can’t imagine how stressed you are. I’m so glad that baby is looking good! You are in my thoughts this week.
• @wildrainbow oh my goodness - what an update! I can’t even imagine how scary all that information coming at you might have been. Glad the Drs caught everything tho and are keeping a close eye on you in the hospital, as hard as that might be. Thinking of you and your family. Please keep us updated if you can!

• How are you feeling this week? Tired. I had to go into the office twice this week and both days had a long day and lots of physical tasks (well, wouldn’t have been that physically tasking except that I’m so out of shape due to sitting on my butt all day the past 3 months)
• Rants/Raves? Questions? Can’t wait to be on mat leave... see above.
• Any upcoming appointments? Have to make an appointment for an NST this week.
• GTKY: What activity instantly calms you? Napping, if you could call it an activity lol. A nice big hug is always nice too. Funny though, knitting aggravates me, has an opposite effect because I’m just not good at it.

• Just got the word, my liver enzymes went up over 800, my bile acids are very high. Baby is being taken tomorrow at 6:30 am CST. I'm a hot mess and fraying at the edges mentally.
• @wildrainbow - OMG Lady! Talk about stressful. Sending all kinds of calming positive thoughts your way. You got this. (hugs)
• @the_road_to_oz - oooohhhh! I would be so upset with MIL, too! I guess she didn't learn from the previous pregnancy? Wow. But CONGRATS on the baby girl! And your son sounds like a hoot! Not sure I'm ready for that though. Lol.

@cashewchicken - hahaha. Napping should be an activity!

• @wildrainbow That was unexpected and 100% understand how you are feeling. As much as we would like to, we can not control everything and the good thing is that your Dr was able to catch all this on time, so try to focus on all the good news and reports of your baby <3 Good luck tomorrow!
• @wildrainbow I’m so sorry, but I’m sure your doctors have this under control. Hoping the baby’s NICU stay is short and that your sons get to meet their new sibling soon!
