Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Wednesday 6/24

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. WAYDTGKU: Waiting on test results, gearing up for IVF

R/R: Happy Hump Day! I decided I am going to take some vacation days next week leading up to the 4th. Maybe just the 2nd after my project is done on the 1st (and we get the 3rd off) but I am super looking forward to the break/long weekend (even if we can't really do anything lol). Otherwise just working and waiting on test results, nothing exciting to report!

  • @acleverusername I had repeat CD3 AMH/FSH/Estradiol testing done this month by my RE (my OB ordered prelim testing last month and I had low AMH/high FSH) as well as Prolactin (which was fine), carrier screening, and infectious disease screening (both required here for IVF). MH has to do infectious disease screening too but we have been holding off to see if he also needs carrier screening (if I am positive for any mutations) but I am thinking maybe he should just go ahead and do the former and do the latter later as needed. I am an impatient person in general and the pandemic makes time stand still so I am struggling with my lack of patience even more than usual!

@legallykate I’m glad you are going to be able to take some time off! I’m sure it will be so nice to just take a mental break from work.

@priyadoc hope you are having a nice day! What’s for lunch?

R/R:  Work is insane but I seem to be keeping up. I need this other guy on my team to take on a little more and he is resisting. He’s going on vacation next week so I’m giving him a pass for now and once he gets back it’s going to be a different story. I brought it up in conversation with one of the partners who confirmed this guy isn’t as busy as he thinks he is.  It’s awkward because I’m in charge of this area so the work is coming in through me, but he doesn’t report to me for his work outside of this area, so I don’t always really know what he is working on if that makes sense. Anyway, in TTC news, going to have sex tonight for good measure and then moving over to TWW tomorrow! See you ladies over there!

R/R: Work has been very busy and today I am working at my clinic which meant I had to get up at 5:30AM instead of 7AM when I work from home. I also dropped my car off at the dealership this morning to have it looked at and I haven't heard any updates about 6hrs later it so that's always fun. lol

@bows22 GL in TWW!!!! See you over there in about a week!

@priyadoc Hope you are enjoying your laid back day.

@legallykate I'm really looking forward to a few days off too! Hope you get the results back soon.

  • @jenotontx Thanks!! I'm dreading going back to clinic for the same reason, hope you get some rest and hope there's nothing too wrong with your car!

@bows22 Thanks! I made roasted veggies and quinoa. Good luck for the TWW!!

@legallykate I'm glad you can make it an extra long weekend after your crazy work deadline. I am a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis which was insanely stressful waiting for my husband to get tested but obviously mine needed to come back for insurance to cover his. He was negative, thankfully. I got my results back within a week if I recall correctly. Do you need the infectious disease screening? Are labs delayed at all with covid testing? If it wouldn't cost any more and the lab area is following guidelines well, I'd probably push for MH to get the first set of testing done so it's over with. Odds that something would come up they'd need to test him for again based on your results are pretty low.

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD: 20

WAYDTGKU: PNVs, BBT charting, EOD, and just started OPKs but might have ovulated already.

R/R: I have about 30 books I've purchased for my Kindle when they were on sale or as paperbacks during deals at Amazon or B&N and I feel immobilized and can't decide what to read next so I end up reading nothing. I'm in the middle of the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society but am not loving it so far so I think I need to switch it up to something I'm a bit more interested in.

CS/Q: Day 4 of spotting but a small temp spike today. Tomorrow will show whether it was ovulation or not. I'm trying to find how to add my chart here but having difficulty. I'll keep looking but if anyone can point to where the instructions are, I'd be forever grateful (sorry if I missed it in the "read this first" posts - I did read them, but quickly). All of the share buttons I'm seeing in FF are to share a webpage, ticker, to their community, etc. but I can't find the thumbnail share link to embed here. I've done it before so just need to figure that out.

  • @legallykate Yayy for long weekends!
I’m sorry so many of you are so busy at work! Since I’m a teacher, this is my off season and I fill my time with an insane amount of house projects.

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

CD: 14 days post IUD removal

WAYDTGKU: temping, OPKs, CM, PNV, EOD timing

R/R: MIL came over today and refuses to cancel the family vacation we have scheduled for end of July/early August. COVID is exploding in our area of the state and I’m not comfortable at all going on a vacation this summer and I don’t want to pay for a trip I’m not going on. So that’s super annoying.

CS/Q: My LH is low again today, but is double what it was yesterday, which is giving me some hope!

@bows22 Sorry your work is crazy too but sounds like you are rocking it. Yay for your superiors recognizing that your male coworker is dropping the ball, I work with a guy like that and for whatever reason the partners seem to love him even though he is clearly less capable than the female associates, it is infuriating! See you in the TWW soon!

@jenotontx Hope things worked out okay with your car. My mom’s car was held hostage at the Honda dealership last week, I think the car places might be struggling with the additional sanitation requirements and such.

@kvh22 That is stressful about being a CF carrier. The Invitae website (they are doing my test) said most people are a carrier for one or more genes so I feel like with how many they test (200+) maybe I will be so H will have to also get tested? I’ll talk to him about doing the infectious disease testing anyway maybe today or tomorrow since I think I only have ~10 days left in my cycle. I am terrible about reading these days too, it is hard to “commit” to a book when everything seems so up in the air I guess, lol.

@chindimples04 So YMIL is holding your money hostage or just asking you to pay? I definitely wouldn’t be planning on a trip in a month, it is exploding in my area too so I honestly don’t anticipate any type of trip/fun this summer. FX O is arriving soon for you!

  • @legallykate both? We put down a deposit, but never finished paying. Everyone else is comfortable going except my husband and I. We can cancel the trip and get all bug $60 back or reschedule for next year and lose nothing. This trip us to a massive log cabin resort. They said they’d just stay at the cabin, which is no fun. What’s the point of even going. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@legallykate Ahh okay if testing for 200+ I can see how that would come up. If the infectious disease tests would slow things up and the carrier screening wouldn't, I'd have him go now but if you have to wait for both, maybe do them together? Idk. I think I wasn't tested for as many things.

@chindimples04 yea, we're out $200 for our deposit on a VRBO for DH's parent's 50th anniversary in October. We were supposed to go to Hilton Head which would be a cross-country flight + layover for us. SIL lives in Georgia so would drive with her kids and their families. But my ILs are mid-70s so not risking it. I know your family is younger. Luckily, everyone on our side was down to cancel (although SIL wanted to still make it a sibling thing without the ILs despite the point being their big anniversary but we said no and got it cancelled).

Not sure the protocol on responding here vs. over in the new WTO thread so sorry if I should have carried it over there.
