Should we cancel?
We had invited our preschoool class over for play date, scheduled for tomorrow morning. Yesterday, Finn started to get a runny nose. I thought that it was just from teething, but this evening he has started to cough. His mood, sleep and everything else seems fine. So, should I cancel the playdate? DH thinks I should let everyone know that he has a runny nose and little cough and let them decide.

I would cancel, just because they are young still.

I've been told that hte clear vs. yellow/green doesnt' mean anything. ANd since it sounds like he's ramping up, he's probably at his most contagious right now. In my play group, we'd probably all still come, but our kids don't suck on toys anymore. At 8 months, I'm pretty sure we would have bailed.
Okay- Thanks for the feedback. I did some e-mailing/calling to the group. We'll still have the play date as 3 our of the 4 people I have heard from think it is no big deal. I let everyone else know, and left it up to them.
Scarletti- I am not sure what type of snot it is. I am at work and DH is home with him. BTW, I am confused about the snot thing. I have read and heard clear v. colored but my Pedi said that is not true. Finn often has a runny nose and I have taken him in for it and the Doc almost always says "just teething." I have kept him home from activities before though, when the only symptom is runny nose. Some kids ALWAYS have runny noses, and it seems silly to never take them out.
