    Due date? Oct. 18th

Upcoming appointments? 3-hr glucose test on July 13th

Rant/rave? Kinda ranty, but I'm frustrated that just 4 days after starting in my new office, they went back to teleworking because someone in our building tested positive for COVID. I know this pandemic is far from over, but even during normal operations it sucks to be the new guy, and so this makes it even worse. I don't even have a really good grasp on normal day-to-day operations of my new position, so I don't know what is expected of me while I WFH. Not only that, but the work laptop they provided to me won't connect to our network from home, so I'm trying my best to utilize the online email web app, but it suuuuuuuucks.

Suffice to say, I'm over it.

But, I'm also so thankful that my new command is sensitive to the fact that I'm pregnant and should be working from home. So, that is a little bit of a relief, instead of feeling pressured to go in and potentially expose myself to the virus.

    Questions? Nope

GTKY:What's your cooking specialty?  What do you make that's tastier than anyone else's? Hmmmm that's a good question! I have a few go-to meals, but those are usually for when I'm in a funk and just want something comforting (spaghetti, tacos, chili). One recipe I make that got rave reviews is Creamy Garlic Butter Tuscan Shrimp that I serve over fettucine or linguine. My mom told me it tasted like it came from a restaurant. I don't make it often, though, because it's very high in fat and MH is on a low-cholesterol diet.

  • How far along are you? 23 weeks tomorrow

    Due date? October 20

Upcoming appointments? June 30 for 24 week appt

Rant/rave? I’m so excited that movement has been pretty much daily at this point!
Also DH’s birthday is this Sunday and he really wanted to do a last minute weekend getaway out to Custer in South Dakota with our dog, but it’s just too long of a drive for only a weekend. So we decided we’re going to do a day trip to Pike’s Peak State Park here in Iowa and do a little light hiking with the pupper to see the views of the Mississippi River and go see Effigy Mounds (the American Indian burial sites). We are going to have a nice picnic for lunch. Bug spray and sunscreen and lots of cold water will be our friends!

Questions? Not that I can think of!

GTKY: What's your cooking speciality?  What do you make that's tastier than anyone else's?   I also have a few go-to meals that I make. Lately my goulash has been the recipe everyone is loving. I made it when my family has visited the last two times and they raved about it! They’re actually coming today too (yay) but I’m doing grilled cheese and tomato soup lol.

    Due date? 10/19

    Upcoming appointments? 6/30 for 24w

Rant/rave? We officially put our house up and made an offer on another late last night. Praying they accept! If all goes right we should be moved in by mid August.

    Questions? Nope

GTKY:What's your cooking speciality?  What do you make that's tastier than anyone else's? I make really good chicken alfredo. Not sure that I have a specialty but I’m a pretty good cook IMO haha.
  • @coldbrew congratulations on putting an offer in! The waiting for their acceptance is the hardest part lol. We battled back and forth for a while on the price of our house, and then we had a whole other ordeal of them wanting to back out after they accepted because something fell through on their  end. It was a nightmare but it worked out thankfully. Crossing my fingers it’s all smooth for you!!

  • How far along are you? 23days and some days that I can’t think of right now.

    Due date? 10/16

Upcoming appointments? Mid July for glucose and check up

    Rant/rave?
Rant: went to Ikea to get some things for the nursery. I have a room with a bunch of hand me down things that I can’t seem to find the drive to start organizing. Finally went to Ikea to grab a few things I’ve been wanting and of course all the things I want are sold out. So there went my drive.

Rave: we were able to drop off DD with our in laws for the weekend and just catch on some rest. Not even sleeping, but just resting and doing nothing.

Questions? Anyone find something to helps the round ligament pains? They’ve starting getting pretty bad at night and sometimes I almost feel like they’re Braxton Hicks.

GTKY:What's your cooking speciality?  What do you make that's tastier than anyone else's?
My husband always said he hated meatloaf but he loves mine. He also says he hates Brussels sprouts but he’ll eat mine. I don’t think I do anything special but I know his mom makes really bland food.
  • @babycakesday - I take a half dose of tylenol to help prevent my RLP pain, and also sleep with a heating pad on my side (set to low/medium). That has really helped mitigate my RLP pain. I also wear a support band, especially when I'm on my feet for extended period of time. My OB also said it's okay for me to wear a Thermacare patch under my work uniform so I don't have to stay tied to a heating pad when I'm at work.

    Due date? Oct 19

    Upcoming appointments? July 2

Rant/rave? It was going to be a rant, but now has turned into a rave and hopefully will stay that way. I've spent most of my energy the past week contacting people renting homes, and have gotten very little response. This morning, though, I got a very promising lead...fingers crossed! We are hoping to move in about 2 weeks so it would be nice to have a place to move into!
Another rave, hubby and I had a mini-babymoon Father's Day, we did several pool sessions since it was roasting out, interspersed with movie-watching, game-playing and topped off with yummy roasted curry-breaded chicken drumsticks.

    Questions? Nope

GTKY:What's your cooking speciality?  What do you make that's tastier than anyone else's? I don't make it often, but my lasagna probably gets the highest reviews. My personal favorites are my Brussels sprouts and my candied butternut squash.

    10/18

    Upcoming appointments?
Next Monday for a regular checkup

    Rant/rave?
The weather is beautiful, my PGP has been feeling so much better, I've ordered our bassinet mattress and have my registry almost all done!
My leaking milk is waking me up though to cold wet sheets which is dumb and I don't want to start sleeping in a bra with pads but I guess I'll have to. But mostly good things!

    Questions?
Has anyone else found a good sleep bra that works being super busty? Where did you get it at?

GTKY:What's your cooking speciality?  What do you make that's tastier than anyone else's?
Probably fake-out chicken and gyoza, and only because nobody else I've met can make gyoza, but my SO works with a few guys who transferred from Tokyo to the states and they always compliment his lunch when I make gyoza so that's a rave!
  • @babycakesday exercise has helped me the most with RLP, especially pelvic tilts and cat/cow.
  • How far along are you? 22+5

    Due date? 10/21

Upcoming appointments? Not scheduled yet. Won't be until end of July.

Rant/rave? We had the most wonderful long weekend visiting our family. My parents kept DD overnight one night and we did a double date out with BIL and his wife and it was really nice. Plus I slept past 6am for the first time in months without DD there to wake me up. 2nd rave--today I've been making a ton of progress on DDs big girl room! It's a rainbow theme. I will post pics once I have something to show because I'm so excited about it!
Not really a rant, but the closest thing I have--it's been a week as of today and no word on my NIPT results. Twiddling my thumbs.

    Questions? Nope.

GTKY:What's your cooking speciality?  What do you make that's tastier than anyone else's? I'm all over the place. I make a good shrimp and mushroom risotto. I also make a mean burrito casserole.
  • @kalesix3 I love my sleep bra more than any other bra I have, https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MSTCJ5N I'm not super busty, but maybe a large would work for you. I've been sleeping with it since early on because I was having trouble sleeping without my super-sensitive boobs being wrangled.
