Babies on the Brain

WRW December 2019

***General TW that this thread might contain discussions mentioning MC and loss.***

Welcome to Waiting Room Wednesday! You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on not TTC and connect with others who are in the same boat. TTC can be a long journey, and having to wait makes it feel even longer -- even if it is for a good reason.

I invite you to resurrect this thread at any point in the month if you have something to say. Treat this like an ongoing conversation.

Re: WRW December 2019

  • Hello ladies! I have been completely MIA for awhile so welcome to the newcomers that I’ve missed!

When do you think you will start TTC?
    November 2020

    What brings you to WRW?
    Crazy ridiculous baby fever

    Any R/R?
Well, an update for you guys. I’m still signed off of work by my doctor and I will be until at least the 17th and then IF I can go back, it’ll be part time 3 days a week (part time of full wage and the other two days will be Statutory Sick Pay). My anxiety is through the freaking roof. I constantly feel like I can’t breathe. I’m going to talk to my doctor about changing my medicine because while the depression has gotten much better, the anxiety is way worse. DH says that if I’m still in this place next year (when we plan on TTC), that we will just push back our TTC date which I understand completely but would break my heart.

GTKY: What has been your favourite year of this past decade?
There’s definitely been some really good and really memorable years. 2015 was probably the greatest year of the decade for me: worked at Disney, met my now husband, went to England for the first time, and my overall confidence was the best it’s ever been.

  • Hey everyone!

When do you think you will start TTC?
ASAP, lol. We have been waiting on buying a house before beginning TTC. We just got some good news so we're thinking it'll be earlier than we originally thought! Hopefully within the next few months.

    What brings you to WRW?
    Baby fever!

    Any R/R?
Rave: So, our hold up in the home buying process has been my terrible credit. However, our realtor recommended that I join with National Credit Care last month to see if they could help. In one month with them my credit has gone up 70 points!! I was so happy when I got the update. So now we are officially able to buy a home, and even better, one of the areas we really like is considered rural and we can get financing with 0 down. So exciting! And even more exciting, this means we can start TTC soon!

GTKY: What has been your favourite year of this past decade?
Probably this one! We got married, I am doing great in school, I have gotten my mental health issues under control and we are just in a great place overall. I've had a rough decade for many reasons, and things have really turned around in the past couple years. So grateful for that.

  • @bcrystal1012 yay!!! So exciting about the house, credit score, and TTC news! Lots of raves! And kudos on having a great year and getting your mental health under control 👏🏻👏🏻

  • @jackie_dunny Thank you! It's been a good month! I definitely understand the frustration of dealing with mental health issues. I have both depression and anxiety and it has taken me a long time to get to a stable place. I'm so sorry you are dealing with all of that on top of wanting to TTC. One of my fears about being pregnant is having to come off of most of my medications and then having to get stabilized all over again. I will say that I had to switch medications so many times to find the right combination for me, so FX that your doctor can find that for you soon!!!
  • @bcrystal1012 yeah I’m going to ask my doctor tomorrow about a switch because I don’t think this one is working for me. As for the meds while pregnant, I’m not positive but I’m pretty sure that there is a good handful of them that are safe to take while pregnant. I have the same concern, though so you’re not alone.

  • @jackie_dunny I'll definitely have to check with my doctor on that. I just assumed I would have to stop them all, so thank you for letting me know!
  • Hey all! Completely forgot we started a new thread at the beginning of the month and forgot to pop in earlier.
When do you think you will start TTC?
    September 2020.
    What brings you to WRW?
Wanting to talk about my desire for a baby.
    Any R/R?
Rant: Last month I had a doctor's appointment and discovered I had a small nodule on my right thyroid. I got an ultra sound, and right now it is small enough that my PCP doctor isn't worried, but I've been refereed to a EMT specialist for care. I just scheduled a doctor's appointment for end of January 2020... so we shall see about where this leads... I'm not overly worried about it yet, but there is the chance it could be cancerous and I'l need to be removed down the road... is it weird that my biggest fear right now is this is going to impact TTC next fall?
GTKY: What has been your favourite year of this past decade?
Wow, this is a hard one. I'll probably say 2018 as that is the year my son was born. Although 2016 would be a close tie as that was the year I got married.
  • @darkrose88 Hey there! :) I am sorry to hear about them finding the nodule, health stuff like that is always a bit scary at least for me. I think part of what sucks is the not knowing! Hopefully with the holidays coming up you can focus on that and before you know it, it'll be time for your appointment. Hoping that it is nothing serious!! And I definitely don't think that is weird at all, but I am also here posting on the bump before being pregnant lol! Nice to (online) meet you.

  • When do you think you will start TTC?
Probably not until January 2021. I think about it all the time but financially we need to wait until our oldest is almost in kindergarten. I also want to wait until my youngest is at least 2
    What brings you to WRW?
Thinking about babies all the time
    Any R/R?
Rant: I'm teaching a new employee at work and she is driving me crazy. She isn't a good fit in the ICU but my managers want to give her a little time. Ugh
Rave: my oldest is almost 3 and she is loving the holiday season. I'm loving watching her
GTKY: What has been your favourite year of this past decade?
That's a hard one. 2016 I graduated with my bachelor's in nursing, got married, went to Maine on our honeymoon, found out I was pregnant, and started my dream job as a nurse in an ICU. It was a great year. I also love being a mom and January 2017 made me a mom.

@bcrystal1012 thank you for the encouraging words and nice to meet you too! I actually LOL'd when I read your comment about posting online before you are pregnant. Some people might think we are eccentric for posting online before  TTC... but I personally don't care. I need a community that understands what I'm going through... and you all are it!

@leahrnp DS is turning two in less than a month and I'm excited about the holiday season with him. I can only imagine how awesome it is with an almost 3 year old! Also, can I just say - love that you have January babies as well. <3

    Edited to add additional thoughts.
  • @darkrose88 exactly :) It is really nice to have a safe space to chat about this time in our lives. I can only talk about it with my spouse and friends so much. I was so grateful to find these forums! I ran across a few other sites as well, and the forums on some of them are just wild, lol!

@leahrnp I bet Maine was amazing! I am originally from Vermont and I miss it so much. I live in Tennessee now (where my DH is from) but I am itching to head back up north. Fall is incredibly beautiful in New England. And a career as a nurse in the ICU sounds so great, my dream is to go to medical school eventually (I am an undergrad biology major now), and my mom is a nurse and loves her job.
  • @bcrystal1012 @darkrose88 I am definitely also laughing at myself for being on a board before TTC AND before being pregnant/parenting. I will also have been on this board for nearly two years before I start trying :# already been here for over a year! I feel so sad :D

  • @jackie_dunny Lol, I feel you! I don't think it is crazy though, it is nice to be able to lurk and chat with you ladies. Also, I changed my username, but it's still me :)
  • @darkrose88 the holidays were amazing this year! Just tonight I asked DD if she wanted to make cookies tomorrow and she asked if they were for the reigndeer.

@bserena Maine was great. We stayed in bar harbor and had a great time. We actually went to Manchester Vermont on our way back home. I really liked it there. I'm currently trying to figure out what I want long term career wise. I got into a leadership residency at my hospital so I'm going to do that and then decide if I see myself in leadership or going back to nurse practitioner school.

@jackie_dunny I agree with @bserena I don't think it is crazy or sad you've been here for a year. When I finally start trying, that's how long I'll have been here. I also think of it this way - DH would literally go nuts if I talked about how much I'm ready to have another baby and possibly end up divorcing me for sanity reasons :p so I have to have an outlet to discuss my feelings so I don't lose my husband (aka my future baby's daddy). I think it is very sane reasoning.
