Fi and I met and dated very briefly in high school. After graduation we went our separate ways. Many years later he kept sending me Facebook requests that I kept declining. I finally gave in and accepted his request. We got caught up and decided to meet up for a one time booty call( no judging). Here we are 7 years and soon to be six kids (combined) later with a wedding date set for 6 weeks from now.
We met online actually. We got matched on two different sites and finally after liking each other on both he sent me a message and it’s been history from there. Dated for a year and half, got engaged and married 6 months after that.
At a house party at my house, sophomore year in college. We started dating when I was 19, and now we’ve been married for almost 11 years with 3 kids and the 4th and final on the way.
We met in university. He graduated two years before me. We both studied the same thing and in my second year we were just dating. Didn't really have a first date, we just were together all of a sudden and that was that. None of our friends were surprised or anything. Pretty lame but that's okay.
Pretty similar to @hp242! We met in college and didn’t really have a first date, we just got together and have been ever since. Our 10 year wedding anniversary is next month.
We met at church. We were friends for a long while before we ever dated. We went for Chinese food and he took me to a Backstreet Boys concert that I had been rambling about for weeks 😂 I think our strong friendship is what has kept us going all these years.
@carleym93 Now that you've mentioned Chinese food I can think of literally nothing else.
We met 4.5 years ago online on OKCupid. Our first date was a play that he took me to and it was seriously the closest I *ever* came to cancelling a date - I thought he would be a pretentious theater person. I was always super strict with myself about not flaking on dates in my approx 678 years of dating but I came so close! Now it freaks me out to think I almost didn't go! It was the best first date, we had tacos after the play and then went out for dessert b/c we had a lot to talk about. We stayed out for like 7 hours.
We're not married but we're talking about doing that when we're able to have a gathering that people fly to...or going to City Hall at some point. We're just not into planning anything about it but are also very particular about how it will be, haha!
@whitealbum29 😂 Chinese food and Taco Bell are always my pregnancy cravings. I requested Panda Express for my Mother’s Day lunch (I can’t even remember the last time I had eaten there before that) and DH was like “Uuuhhhh I think you need to take a pregnancy test.”
We also met in college! His fraternity rented rooms to sorority girls over the summer (the sorority houses closed in the summer so those girls had nowhere to live) and some of my friends were living at his fraternity. I was over there pretty often and we met when everyone was outside grilling. We went on our first date a week or two later and now we’ve been married almost 8 years!
There is a young professionals group in our state, and I joined a couple of years after college. At the time, members of the group could create their own meetups, and the group itself also had events. I'd already been to a couple of events, so when some guy created an event at Wegmans (yes, it's a grocery store, but there's a place to grab food and hang out), I thought, sure, why not? We didn't start dating just yet, but we became part of a group of friends from the group and eventually started dating a few years later. So we were friends first who met at a grocery store.
I was working as a bartender and he husband was a cook at two different restaurants in the same town. Alllll the restaurant workers from both our restaurants would always go to the same bar after work because it was cheap and guaranteed to keep their kitchen open late so we could eat and drink after our shift. I walked in after a 13hr shift and was in a terrible mood, I knew his roommate already but not him, his roommate stopped me to say something and my (future) husband offered some smart alecky comment to which I replied “Who the f*ck are YOU?” So yeah, that’s the first thing I ever said to him 🤣 Thankfully we had quite a few mutual friends and ran into each other a few more times. Our first real date was lunch at a Mexican restaurant, browsing at a giant bookstore, and the last Harry Potter movie.
My husband's cousin was an assistant manager at my job in college. She was listening to me complain about my streak of bad dates/relationships and said she had someone in mind for me. She gave my number to him and the rest is history. I moved away for 2 years shortly after we met to finish my healthcare program/degree. We've been together for 8 years and married for 5 in a few weeks. I always joked that his cousin wanted to keep me around after I graduated college and got a real job.
We met at a bar. I was there with friends to see a cover band and it was a few days before Halloween but we didn't realize that there was a Halloween party there so we weren't dressed up but a lot of people were. I love to bake, particularly cupcakes and used to have a blog about them. I saw DH across the bar dressed as a cupcake (he coincidentally loves cupcakes, his fantasy football team was Ilovecupcakes) so I walked over and started talking to him. He asked for my number and I actually considered giving him a fake number but didn't and we went on a date a few days later. This Halloween will be 10 years since we met and we'll be married 5 years in September.
We met at the flower stall at the local farmers market. He bought a flower as a way to introduce himself, and got so nervous he just broke it at me and went “ahhh...guh” luckily I thought it was endearing. We had the farmers do the flowers for our wedding- 5 years married, six together.
Met on the train. He liked a book I was reading, we talked about it. Ran into each other a few more times in the next few days on the same train so we exchanged contact info.
