  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 1/8, 10 weeks 3 days
    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM
    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: size of a tart kumquat, apparently "using hands to feel face and mouth to practice coordination"
Upcoming appointments: Next Tuesday, 1st appt with doctor, prenatal testing.
How are you feeling?: Okay I guess...last week I had like three days where I felt pretty good and was sleeping better and had more energy but over the weekend I went back to feeling bloated and gross and headachy. Today I'm somewhere in between so I'll take it.
Rants/Raves: Grr I have a case of the Mondays. Our hot water was out this morning and someone has to come look at it b/c I couldn't figure out how to reset the furnace/it didn't work when I tried. I really hope they can fix it by tomorrow morning. Plus I goofed off during my lunch break instead of taking a short nap like I should have. Oh and I ate an entire bag of Goldfish for no reason. I'm just having a day of stupidity/not feeling like a functioning grown-up.
    Questions: nope
GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly? When I can't sleep at night I read in the living room and drink a cup of warm milk (I know, people think this is gross but it usually works for me and it's comforting!). I also watch Gilmore Girls when I'm cooking and have certain movies that are my comfort movies that I've watched over and over again. And also for sleeping I use lavender essential oil on my wrists and temples at night.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:  hot wheels car
Upcoming appointments: Friday we should have the result from NIPT and next week a quick us
How are you feeling?: tired. So tired.
Rants/Raves: I’ve actually been able to eat / drink comfortably the last few days! It’s amazing.
    Questions:
GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly? I read trashy romance novels, lol. They are my mental escape.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:   Bumped up 3 days: EDD Jan 5; 10w6d

    FTM/STM/STM+:    FTM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out:  Green

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:  a cherry tomato

Upcoming appointments:  Probably not until 20w; just had my first appt Fri and the Dr. said no need to come back in person until then. She offered telehealth for a check in 4w from now, but I'm not really into the virtual check in just to talk about the pregnancy.

How are you feeling?:  Was feeling pretty great as last week the nausea stopped, but that was short lived. It's back. Craving mint chocolate these days.

Rants/Raves:   Like I've seen many of you post, now I'm in the anxious waiting period to hear results from NIPT.

GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you?
My friend just gave me her belly oil (Zoe Organics) that she doesn't need now that she's given birth. It's really more amazing (the smell and feeling) than I ever imagined. She said she tried several and this was the best one. I've only tried this one, but I can attest it is legit. I'm really treating myself and have been using it not one, not two, but three times a day! Scandalous. It's just so relaxing; I don't even care if it doesn't help in the long run.
I also really used to be into epsom salt baths, but got out of that habit the last few months. Just took one on Fri and it was a real treat.

whitealbum29 Mmmm, you said Goldfish and now it's all I want. The power of suggestion is real. Sorry about your water.
the_road_to_oz lol, hot wheels car. That's a good one.

@whitealbum29 I’ve also put down an embarrassing quantity of goldfish today. Oops.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: wild strawberry!
Upcoming appointments: Thursday is our first appt And ultrasound. Fingers crossed all looks good.
How are you feeling?: like death. Nauseous all the time, so tired. I am barely functioning, I hope this all subsides soon. I think by 13ish weeks with my others I felt like a person again, that feels so far away!
    Rants/Raves:
    Questions:
GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly? I have to get out for a couple mile walk everyday with the dogs. If I don’t I get super stir crazy. It’s feeling less like self care lately since the kids are home I’ve been taking them with me, but it’s still nice to get out of the house for a bit!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Strawberry
    Upcoming appointments: 6/23 (NIPT)
How are you feeling?: Nausea hasn't been as bad lately. Shorts are starting to feel tight.
Rants/Raves: DS started his summer day camp today, which meant 3 hours to myself. Not sure if I'm in a better mood because of the "me" time or the fact that the house is actually clean now.
    Questions: n/a
GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly? Reading or listening to audiobooks, blaring music while I shower, listening to podcasts

How are you feeling?: Tires, nauseous, blah
Rants/Raves: while I enjoy being able to work from home for a couple weeks, trying to work and take care of a toddler in the first trimester is rough.
    Questions:
GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly?
Taking a shower every night before my son goes to bed, it's a a little extra time to myself that I so enjoy. I also used to be good about working out every morning, I need to get back in the routine.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a Lego man

Upcoming appointments: next week I have an OB appointment

How are you feeling?: Some days are better than others.  I was super sick this weekend and basically stayed in bed almost all day Saturday after throwing up.

Rants/Raves: I found out that the NIPT is going to cost $850 out of pocket due to my deductible.  I guess I can bypass insurance for $300 but honestly I'm not sure I want it that much to pay several hundred dollars.

    How are you feeling?:
Right now just tired. Nervous because that is my only symptom...that is not normal for me

    Rants/Raves:
Rant: one of 8 year olds decided to start off Monday morning with a terrible attitude
Rave: we’re doing a “bring the farm to you” program where we hatch chicks at our house and our eggs arrive tomorrow morning!

    Questions:
Anyone else basically symptomless at this point?

GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly?
Nope. It used to be working out but once my gym closed I fell off the wagon hardcore.

@feelingjovani I hate how much everything costs until you hut your deductible. I miss the days of the $10 copay - I also ❤️ Bravo - I hope you feel better soon!
@anm126 I promise team green is the most special surprise of your life - I don’t think my husband will even ask this time after we did it last time and loved it so much
@whitealbum29 if there had been a bag of goldfish to eat at my house...I would have done it, too. I cruised through an entire pack of Oreos at an astonishing rate last week.

  • Oh, I’m so excited for those of you who are finding out the sex so soon!

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Raspberry

Upcoming appointments: First Midwife appointment on July 2nd

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling pretty good this week. My nausea and exhaustion have subsided quite a bit (less frequent and less intense). Even though I’m grateful to be feeling better I find it easy to worry about the sudden change in symptoms so early. I felt rotten until 12 weeks with my first.

Rants/Raves: My 16 month old seems to be getting an injury every single day. He’s got scuffed knees, split lips, a black toe nail, scraps and bruises everywhere. I know it’s all part of being a kid and it truly seems to bother me more than it does him! I’m glad he’s a little explorer, I guess I wasn’t expecting how it was going to hurt my heart so much.

    Questions: Not at the moment

GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly? Daily walks and daily baths (with my floating digital thermometer to help me keep the temp in check lol) once my toddler goes to bed.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: an olive

Upcoming appointments:  I have to book my next appointment and ultrasound between July 10-20. I`ll also do the Early First Trimester Screening then, which I understand to be a step before NIPT (I`m in Canada) and if it screens positive I move on to NIPT.  I also have an appointment with the genetics counselling office at one of the local hospitals today because I was the first person my doctor has encountered answering yet to one of the questions and she wasn't sure what to do with that.

How are you feeling?: Horrible, nauseous, tired.  I've basically stopped doing any physical activity and try to spend all my free time on the couch.

Questions: Is anyone else having trouble getting to a comfortable temperature?  There's like a 2 degree sweet sot, otherwise I'm sweating or shivering.

GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly?  I've been quilting again recently, partly because I'm home all the time and partly to do something without having to think too much.
  • @hp242 Feeling the same about temperature!!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A dice
Upcoming appointments: Not until July 1, which actually feels within reach now, but I’m pretty sure I’m the last one to have their first appointment.
How are you feeling?: So incredibly nauseous.
Rants/Raves: I’m super excited some of you are finding out the sex soon!
Questions: Did lemomma post somewhere about how her appointment went yesterday? (I’m not going to tag her in case she’s just wanting peace) I’ve been mia for a few days because of life/nausea.
GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly?
I used to wake up early and exercise, read my scriptures, and get ready. But the nausea and exhaustion have put an end to that. Even just warm showers make me so dizzy and want to throw up.

@the_road_to_oz I can’t wait to hear the update from your NIPT results!

@lavenderclouds I just looked up that belly oil and it sounded so amazing I bought some, can’t wait to get it! Thanks for the great suggestion.

@aels12 I am in the same barely functioning boat. Here’s to the countdown to second trimester!

@mamasloth Yay for summer day camp!!!

@feelingjovani Those prices! I haven’t called my insurance about it yet, but if it’s similar I would definitely have reservations about spending that much too.

@BuckeyeNut05 That bring the farm to you program sounds awesome!

@oaktree6 I have a two year old boy that also constantly has bruises, scrapes, etc. 😢

@hp242 I fell the same about temperature!

How are you feeling?: Hungry, sore boobs; no nausea, but I still don't want coffee or eggs.

Rants/Raves: Daycare started back up! We were considering having our daughter go for just 3 days this week to ease in, but she had a good day yesterday, so we decided to have her go every day.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly? During my hour and a half of free time at night before I go to bed, I enjoy sitting on the couch with the TV on. So I guess sitting on the couch and enjoying a show or zoning out is my self-care. :)

Rants/Raves: a friend is sending me all her maternity clothes and newborn clothes, I’m so excited! I have almost nothing from my last pregnancy and babyhood; we lived in a small apartment with no storage so as soon as things weren’t needed I gave them away.
    Questions: none right now
GTKY: Do you have any special rituals/routines that are just for you? Self-care stuff or routines you just always find yourself doing regularly? Hot showers while listening to audiobooks.
