  • @drsddc I have a 4 year old and a 1.5 year old (both boys) and my older son when talking about the baby says "she" all the time without thinking about it! He even did this when we first told him about the baby. Maybe they know something we don't??😆
  • @drsddc @acdc1109 my son kept calling the baby a girl and was so sad when we found out “she” was actually a he! 😭
  • @surlyjaneausten Oh no! I've asked him what if the baby is a boy and he doesn't seem upset at the idea of it. He usually tells me that if the baby is a boy then we'll have 4 boys (he includes DH in his boy count) and if the baby is a girl then we'll have 2 girls (me and the baby). So we'll see what he says when we find out in a few weeks!

I guess we will find out if they are right in November! Haha.
  • Estimated due date (EDD): 11/27

    Week of pregnancy:  17

Baby is the size of: a pomegranate (foot the size of a gummi bear!)

    Upcoming Appointments: Tuesday

Rant/Rave: Headaches still going strong, but my 2 new lovely symptoms are itchy stomach and can't be comfortable while sleeping. I finally took out the "C" pregnancy pillow my friend let me borrow and it definitely helped, but very hard to get out of bed when you're wrapped in a giant pillow under blankets!

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were a kid? Did you follow your dreams or choose to do something different? I never had a big "this is what i want to be" thing when I was a kid. It always changed. I guess I've always seen myself being more family oriented than career oriented. I work in customer care, but plan to be a stay-at-home mom after November, so... *shrug*

    Week of pregnancy: 17

Baby is the size of: pomegranate!

    Upcoming Appointments: AS July 6th

Rant/Rave: I feel like a great big house! It’s so depressing. I’m a FTM and I feel like comparison is stealing my joy for this pregnancy. I’m constantly looking at other pregnant women and seeing how cute and “all baby” they are, and then I look at myself in the mirror or just when I’m in the bath and I feel like a tub of jelly with HAIR lol. Everyone says it really is a baby belly but it’s so jiggly!! I don’t know. I know I’m being sensitive and hard on myself, but I really feel more FAT than pregnant. I have always had body image issues — this is not helping. I’ll throw a pic in the spoiler for those who are curious. I really really am not fishing for anything and I’m not trying to make anyone feel any type of way at all. I just needed to get it off my chest — ITS CREEPING INTO MY DREAMS NOW (2 dreams that I’ve been called fat by waiters/waitresses at restaurants😓). I know everyone says to be proud and know I’m growing a human which I agree. Its just hard to FEEL that.

I am raving that on Sunday (Father’s Day) we will be announcing to “everyone” that we are expecting, and then the following weekend we will be doing our gender reveal.

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were a kid? Did you follow your dreams or choose to do something different?
I always wanted to be a chef — I still do! I have a goal to own my own food cart/truck. I work in IT right now, but I’m known for my food at the office and with friends and family. I’m always trying new things in the kitchen. The other day we had a grilled cheese night and I had everyone RAVING at how good they were — ready to invest in getting my cart going haha. 🤔 this is probably why I feel like a lard haha 🤷🏼‍♀️ Self inflicted.

  • @mama-buckets bellies are so weird when the baby is still small. I feel like when the baby is low and pushing up all your organs and fat, you just have this oddly shaped abdomen. To me you don’t look big at all. I didn’t really like my baby belly until I was about five or six months along and the baby was higher up. I know it’s not kind of criticize our bodies when they’re growing babies but I’m totally guilty of it!
  • @surlyjaneausten YES! Thank you for getting it! I’m busy in my brain rushing it along so I feel “better” about myself. I just need to be kinder to myself and remind myself the nugget is growing like it should be and will soon make themselves known. I should be embracing these little moments and find intrigue in the way my
body is changing so quickly. Mindset shift for SURE!
  • @mama-buckets When I was pregnant with DS I had such a hard time until like 6mos because I have always struggled with my weight and body image problems. I was so uncomfortable just letting my body get "fatter" and not really looking pregnant at first. It hard to adjust to for sure. This time around I am not as bad about it and honestly I embrace the "bump" because I feel like this is the only time when putting on weight is expected.
  • Welcome to our "new" friends!

I just got off the phone and was told that DH will NOT be able to come to the anatomy scan on Monday like I had previously been told. I am so so disappointed. I would have been fine if that had been the expectation all along, but they definitely got my hopes up. I've been dealing ok with this whole pregnant during a pandemic thing, but today really sucks.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @crizz13 Boo! That really really stinks. Especially since you thought from the beginning that he was able to come. I am so sorry!

@crizz13 That is so disappointing! I'm sorry they cashed your hopes. :(

@mama-buckets  You look great and as baby (and your belly) continue to grow it will look more and more like a baby bump. I feel like I’m stuck in the stage where people can’t tell if I’m gaining weight or pregnant. It’s so hard not to get into our own head, especially with all the extra hormones. With my first 2 pregnancies, everyone kept asking me if I was having twins because my belly was huge! People don’t understand that body issues/ self esteem are still a thing when we are pregnant. Hang in there- this stage will pass and when you feel and see baby moving in there, it does get better.
  • Estimated due date (EDD):
    Nov 29th
Week of pregnancy: 17 weeks tomorrow!

Baby is the size of: taco :)

Upcoming Appointments: I have a mid wife in 2 weeks and an anatomy scan in 3. DH can come to all my appointment but after loosing his dad he hasn’t because he has just been so overwhelmed which totally sucks ! Hopefully he will come to the anatomy scan , and start getting out of his blur so he can be a bit more supportive with this pregnancy (he is a saint with the kids and everyday life , we just have A lot of emotional baggage we are tracking through the mud right now )

Rant/Rave: mostly just laid it out lol ... ugh death sucks! @katepercy I feel ya ! I puked twice this morning and the second was full blown violent puking up everything that was inside me , this is how my other 2 pregnancies were also so not expecting anything different but man it sucks and is so exhausting !

GTKY: What did you want to be when you were a kid? Did you follow your dreams or choose to do something different?
well I was dead set on being a tiger trainer and that didn’t pan out lol thank god (just watched tiger king 😂) ... so I went head first into construction/real estate . I have my mortgage license but don’t actively practice and I am a licensed real estate agent . My husband and I also fix and flip houses although with baby #4 on the way I think that ship has sailed once we get this last one we are finishing sold .

@mama-buckets I totally get it ! Being a first time mom to , it takes forever to show and its so frustrating . Hell even being a 4th time mom I feel like a fat cow before I am actually “showing” so your feeling are 100% validated by me ! With my daughter I looked exactly like you, with the twins I was huge early , and back to the singleton I'm in the same boat as my first again . I just care less now that I have gone through it once . Hang in there it gets better
  • @ecolton01 Sounds like a tough time for your family -- I imagine it must be really hard for your guy to handle the competing feelings over such a big loss and anticipating a new life. I hope he feels up to coming to the A/S!
