Hi! Everything is going well right now. Feeling much better, getting so so so excited, and only a little terrified 😉 I started my registry and have been getting lots of good recommendations on items from my sisters and friends who are mommas. Listening to The Birth Hour podcast and checking if I have a bump yet are my newest obsessions 🙈 I am counting down the days (35) until we find out if we’re having a boy or girl!!
I'm doing pretty good as well Excited for my anatomy scan at the end of the month and cannot believe I am almost halfway through pregnancy already. I've started my registry too but it is a bit overwhelming to me. I am definitely anxious about a lot of things (especially with the state of the world right now) but I am doing my best to stay focused on the positive and not get overwhelmed!
@lalarose22 I have been listening to The Birth Hour too and I am obsessed!
Everything is good on my end too! Looking forward to feel baby kick, and wondering if I'm just not recognizing the feeling...
I'm also super excited for our anatomy scan - 12 days to go!
I'm quite excited about the whole thing and am always looking to learn more about what is coming.
My registry is pretty much done! There might be some modifications or additions to come, but I definitely have a good basis!. I'd like to have it finalized by July 13 - 24 weeks. I agree that it is overwhelming @bserena, I gave it a big go and over 3-4 days I think I had it completed.
since getting into the second trimester I just feel so much better. My anatomy scan is June 9 so only 6 more days!! I can not wait to finally know!
As for the registry I haven’t thought much about it. Makes me slightly anxious thinking about it but want to take the time over a few days to get everything set up.
The hardest part (for me anyways) has been not being able to set up anything for a baby shower and everyone keeps asking- especially my out of town relatives. September is a hard time of year and most places are already booked but hoping to find somewhere that can get us in before we get too close to the due date
Today I woke up and actually looked pregnant (not chubby). I guess making it to 18 weeks caught up with me!
I've actually completed most of my registry. I had initially started it at BuyBuyBaby, but I ended up moving over to Babylist since it gave me so much more flexibility to choose items I love from smaller stores. I found the registering process on Babylist to be a lot more intuitive, also. I employed the help of my SIL (mom of 3 and a registry expert) and my BFF (who has a 7 month old and also lives in a small NYC apartment) in order to make sure I was asking for the things I really needed and would definitely use.
@mimser User experience is so much better and being able to add things as I wish through the Chrome extension makes it really nice. The other day I saw this really adorable denim romper from a random boutique and was able to add it at will. I really like that all my items don't have to come from one store.
I'm doing really great. I'm impressing myself with running in the mornings and how good that feels. I agree @lalarose22 I'm obsessed with looking for a bump but mostly just looking more plump 😅
I’m overwhelmed by the registry. There are just so many things. I looked for over an hour at car seats online and couldn’t decide. Haven’t been back to look at other things since then. I’ll get around to it hopefully this month though...
I tried to get DH to spring for an elective US to find out gender early and see some 3D/4D shots, but he said it was unnecessary. AS isn’t until 6/24 so I’m trying to be patient.

@lovelee3 our anatomy scan isn’t until July 8, so I hear ya! I feel like the weeks are going by much quicker now than they were in the beginning of pregnancy though, so hopefully that continues 🙂
I hate to complain, because I really am happy and enjoying my pregnancy, but...We announced on social media recently and now with the limited social interactions, I feel like almost every conversation I have starts with my pregnancy. I've never liked the attention. When I see people in person who don't know yet, since I'm not blatantly showing, I'm now waiting to tell people so that I can have a normal conversation. I know it all comes from a well intentioned place, but I just miss my daily routines and everything in the world seems to have changed.
@warmwinter it's funny I'm experiencing the opposite. Nobody talks about it very much, I feel it's because we don't see each other so maybe they forget?
@lalarose22 the weeks do seem to be going faster! I partially wonder if it’s because I have a lot more going on now too.
@warmwinter Don’t worry about complaining - we all know it’s not sunshine and rainbows all the time. I’m trying to avoid telling the parents of the kids I work with because I don’t want them to think I’m less capable. I’ve noticed people are treating me more delicately and that’s kind of annoying me. I’m pregnant - not broken/fragile! 😂

@warmwinter @ lovelee3 I'm with you ladies. I hate the extra superficial attention (like, passing commentary and "look at that baby bump" and the dreaded belly touching)(contrariwise I like talking about the pregnancy if it's with someone who actually wants to talk about it for real). And I REALLY hate how people treat you different. Like you said lovelee, I'm pregnant, not broken. I can carry my groceries and other heavy things, I am still strong and capable. I know people are just trying to be considerate, and I remember being appreciative of a couple of times in late pregnancy when someone would ask if I needed help, but the implication that I can't take care of myself bothers me.

@warmwinter Today a lady who lives in my building told me I look like I lost weight. I replied, "Ummm, definitely not since I'm 5 months pregnant!" Not sure why it's ok for people to comment on my body (either to tell me I've lost weight or ask if I'm pregnant). It's my business!
Anyone else anxiously waiting to feel baby move?! Feeling nauseous and exhausted in the first trimester was a good reminder that baby was healthy and growing. I’m definitely struggling with the no symptoms & not feeling movement yet stage 😬
@lalarose22 Yup! I'm also not entirely sure what I should be expecting either, so maybe I've felt movement? People describe it differently and also mistake it for gas, so I have no idea! On top of that, some people have been asking me routinely since like 10 weeks...
@hedgepig This week... one person INSISTED that I didn't need to help move a lawn chair. Then, another person put a chair out for me so I wouldn't have to endure standing for about 3 minutes. I do like getting first say when we're trying to decide what to eat though. Nobody questioned "ask for extra tartar sauce for all 4 meals" yesterday when we ordered fish and chips.
@vetgirl2011 right!? I haven’t had an in person visit since May 18 and my next one is July 8. Too long to wait!
@warmwinter same here! I have felt something a couple times in the middle of the night when I’m half awake to roll back over onto my side, but I don’t know if it's for sure baby!
I've recently started feeling baby movements. The very first time I was actually a little freaked out. It was just to weird to think there was a human growing inside me🙈 If I sit really still after dinner, slightly reclined, I can feel little thumps that could be like a gas bubble but its too consistent and in the same place to be gas. I like to use a stethoscope (If you have one at home) and put low on my belly and I can hear the baby moving even when i can't feel it. I haven't heard the heartbeat this way but google says that around 20 weeks the heartbeat begins to beat loud enough to hear through a stethescope. I've heard that some people won't feel the baby until 25 or 26 weeks though so like with everything, it all depends on the pregnancy! Im trying to enjoy being able to sleep without so much movement going on because before we know it, hands and feet will be jabbing us everywhere making themself known😁
@babywiik I believe I've started to feel baby move too for about a week now 😊 At first it felt a bit like a muscle twitch. Now it's a bit more like a gentle tap or a bubble popping. I love the feeling, I feel like he's already participating in our life.
I’ve been lucky in feeling baby movements pretty early but never being quite sure until about a week and a half ago that it was for sure baby bean. Now I’m just waiting for the day I can feel it externally and let DH feel too!
