Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: My app told me a potsticker today. But that seems smaller than a lemon? Sometimes these comparisons throw me off haha.
Upcoming appointments: June 17th
How are you feeling: Good! Still tired, but not as much as before. Also getting some headaches from time to time. Feeling really good otherwise.
Rants/Raves: I’ve been doing all my ranting to my city’s mayor and city council these days ✊
Questions: None I can think of!
GTKY: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? I love any combination of carbs and cheese - Mac and cheese, pizza, etc. If it was only one meal forever, I think I’d have to go with Pizza, but really good NY pizza!
How are you feeling: so nauseous. And it always comes on around 5pm, when I'm trying to get everyone dinner. I'm trying to will this lo to be a boy by refusing to puke though. I got sick maybe once with DS, but like half a dozen times with DD, and I feel like if I can just keep it down, I can make it a boy. Also ignoring the acne on my chin and blaming it on mask wearing, and not the beauty stealing true for me wives tale about girls.
Rants/Raves: sorry I skipped the last 2 week's, I've been emotionally drained and just didn't have any bandwith left to post here or on FB. Rants: systemic racism and the necessary protests are so heavy on me these days, plus the quarantine's effect on my toddlers, and the low grade anxiety over covid, and I'm just exhausted at the end of the day. I don't even think I can blame it on pregnancy because it's the same for my non-mama friends. Raves: we flew to Florida for vaca for the week of 5/22-5/29 . it was awesome, even though I was extra worried about covid. My kids needed some non me & DH playmates, and I needed a change of scenery. And as usual, I needed 2 weeks to recover from a 1 week vaca. Also, DH has been quick to accommodate whatever food demands I have made.
GTKY: cup of creamy tomato soup with sourdough bread and herbed olive oil for dipping, small iceberg salad with ranch dressing in a wood bowl, glass of malbec, rare-med/rare 4oz NY strip with an over medium egg on top, large baked potato with a little butter and a lot of sour cream, mocha creme brulee for dessert. I would absolutely eat that 3x per day forever. But I would also be fine if I got stuck with any of you pizza people.
@laurenspdx ✊ and also, I will happily come live on your cheese+carb island.
@tryingktogku yes! Im 40+ lb overweight though, but like, come check this out, it's definitely my firm uterus and not a beer gut, I swear! Wait, no, dont touch my abdomen weirdo.
@cassafrass15 a small coffee with cream & sugar usually helps me.
Team Green/Pink/Blue: Green for as long as I can hold out lol
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Lemon
Upcoming appointments: 7.2
How are you feeling: Still a bit of nausea
Rants/Raves: GD sucks. I can’t imagine having diabetes and it’s runs in my family so much that I know it’s a big chance and it’s just I want to eat something sweet and good and I know I can’t.
Questions: None yet
GTKY: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Spaghetti and meatballs
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: December 11th (13w3d)

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Lemon
Upcoming appointments: Just some telehealth appointments with cardiology and OB
How are you feeling: Better! I'm still dealing with some fatigue and food aversions, but overall feeling much much better!
Rants/Raves: I found baby girl's heartbeat on the doppler this morning!
Questions: Has anyone done a private ultrasound yet? Thinking of doing one next week so DH can come and experience it first hand!
GTKY: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be: Hmmm probably a seasonal greens salad with tuna from Panera, with a baguette on the side. It's my favorite meal and I now make it my once a week pregnancy tuna indulgence. Or sushi, I could eat sushi all day every day.
@laurenspdx - Yummm now I want potstickers for lunch! haha
@tryingktogku - I'm glad your acne started to clear up! I think most people just assume I've gained the quarantine 15 in my gut haha
@cassafrass15 - Probably not a healthy approach to that issue, but I always just have a few bites of something I'm allergic to. Had two bites of DH's cannoli this weekend and bam problem taken care of!
@sejica - Sorry you've been struggling. Good to hear that you were able to take a little vacation and relax though!
@jbal918 - I've really got to start watching what I'm eating, as I eat way too many sweets (fruit snacks and gummy candy)! Now that I'm feeling better I'm going to focus on eating cleaner/healthier again!
@feather_heather So glad to hear that you’re feeling so much better! And not a true allergy but I don’t digest milk well, so maybe I’ll give that a whirl!
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: Dec 14th / 13w + 2D

Team Green/Pink/Blue: Pink
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Size of baby's head is roughly 1/3 of it's body! Size of a 🍋
Upcoming appointments: July 10th
How are you feeling: Currently, my back is killing me but I'm so happy my nausea has died down significantly!
Rants/Raves: I just recently had an ultrasound and the doctor said baby was a girl! I wanted to cry right there in the office I wanted a little girl so it was crazy hearing it!
Questions: Is anyone not participating in ALL the blood testing? I personally am so terrified of draws... I started panick crying for my last draw.
GTKY: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Likely some form of pasta I love pasta!
@laurenspdx Ive had headaches here and there too but so glad symptoms have subsided overall!
@tryingktogku Breh honestly that reminded me! I showed a friend my bump and she said "that's how I look now" (she's not pregnant) it kind of annoyed me. Sorry I don't have a huge belly right now? I don't know it upset me lol
@cassafrass15 Yeah I have the same maybe not healthy approach (@feather_heather)I might eat something I know makes me not feel great cus I'll go to the bathroom forsure
@sejica That's awesome you were posting before! this is my first time participating because on the phone it's a headache but I want to be a part of this community 😭. Honestly the protests going on have been making me physically ill and I keep crying about it - I don't think it's much about the pregnancy either. Experiencing racism and kind of just pushing it behind me my whole life... Seeing everyone so tired is making my repressions subside and it hurts. I am so glad you were able to have a vacation and feel good enough to come back to the forum though ❤️ I'm so sorry you had so much for me to respond to haha - all the midwives tales for me were spot on for baby girl! Breaking out on the face, preference for which side I sleep on, crazy nausea but because I wanted a girl so bad I guess it was all a good thing heh.
@jbal918 Mhm there we go some pasta options! I love spaghetti but feel like I'd end up wanting something with a thicker shorter noodle!
@feather_heather Breh I've tried to like tuna so many times, it's so good for you I wish I could. My food aversions though have been coming full swing I'd say! Nothing fried, no milk or milk substitutes 😭
@maisas Lurking from a different week, but I hear you on blood draws. When I was a kid, I was hospitalized for a long time with blood draws daily and numreous IVs. Terrified of needles. I have learned a few tricks: 1) if you know ahead of time, make sure you drink a lot of water. It is so much easier for them if you are hydrated. 2) Ask to have all blood draws when you are lying down. It helps me to calm down since there is just more space and I can look up. They also try to get the best person to do them then, since they know I have an issue with it. 3) Breathe! I would get so nervous I would hold my breath and then am more likely to faint. 4). It does get better!
@maisas. Big hugs !!! All the protests and rioting have made me so sad, I don't understand how their are people or places where everyone is not treated equally, I guess where I live is sheltered in that fact as most families have known each other for generations (my dh's family had been in our small town for at least 4 generations)
I am also horrible with blood draws (not as much with shots) as I have tiny veins that are deep and roll, and collapse easily. Blood draws are the worse part of pregnancy for me. I have found it helps of you let the technician know your fears and any issues you know that might make it difficult, generally they will get onthe off the more experienced people to draw 1st instead of poking you several times. Also drink a lot of fluids the day before the draw. Personally, I also find if I look away and concentrate on something like a picture aand take great big deep lamaze breathes it helps keep the blood flowing. That being said, I do get all the blood draws, and sometimes I cry.
I wish the bump would put a link to the community on the main screen outs a pain to navigate to it on the phone.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: due 12/14
FTM/STM/STM+: stm+
Team Green/Pink/Blue: team healthy
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: these are so whack .the size correlations don't seem to be growing everyday.
Upcoming appointments: next Thursday
How are you feeling: ok, until I try to eat a full meal and then it all comes out almost immediately through the exit.
Rants/Raves: pretty neutral this week, not so grumpy.
Questions: nah
GTKY: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be
That's so hard. Today I would say Ceasar salad, grilled chicken with sauteed mushrooms and onions on top, cucumber salad, purple rice and cheese cake. I know tomorrow that would change lol!
@dobiemom11 Yeah maybe I should start requesting to be able to lay down! I always always drink hella water before starting the day before when I know it's coming or think it is!
@babymakes9 Your veins are my veins 😭 I have little baby veins that roll so people tend to miss and that's what makes me fears worse. Not last time but the time before, I told the lady that and she picked the tiniest vein and it rolled so SHE tried again and I fainted cus I was scared that SHE personally was gunna try again when she already failed 😭. But yes I am getting better about speak up about my fear! The last doctor was trying make me calm before hand but he was just giving me more anxiety so I started crying lol he's like oh no! I'm sorry don't worry! We re gunna use a butterfly needle (smaller and better for rolling veins).
And look at us matching veins and matching due dates 😎 haha, I'm also for that team healthy! My mom always told me when I was little "never pray/hope for a beautiful baby you always pray/hope for a healthy baby".
Yeah some people just don't see it, my aunt for instance didn't believe things like that still happened today but she also had a very sheltered life and came from a very nice neighborhood with kind of no minorities there 😅 My experience is different I think I was pretty sheltered as well! But I am a mixed child and got to see a lot of and experience a lot of unpleasant things

@sejica Glad your back!
@sejica I totally get it. It can feel so overwhelming out there. I just keep reminding myself that it’s all about just doing what I can each day!
