R/R: Back in WTO, ugh. I have to go into the office today. I sent my boss an email on Friday and his reply was “let’s talk when you’re in the office” okay dude there is a pandemic going on and even though we’re mostly reopen, our state’s guidelines say that telework should continue where possible. But it’s not worth it to actually say that haha.

  • @bows22 happy belated birthday! Sorry for AF. So annoying about your boss and the email.

R/R: It was another great weekend! We made good progress on the gardens and did some planting. I actually have some potted flowers too this year. We spent the whole day outside on Sunday. It was wide open sunshine and 70 degrees which is perfect summer weather for me. We ended the night with a bonfire and smores, and then some Animal Crossing.

    CS/Q:
  • @bows22 hope you had a great bday weekend otherwise.  and ugh to your boss.

@gingermama29 sounds like a perfect day!  we just dismantled our fire pit and we hope to install a more permanent one in the ground by end of summer.  super jealous of your s'mores!

R/R: had a nice weekend! saturday was lazy overall.  yesterday we had our friends over.  it was supposed to be their wedding day and they had to push back to september because of COVID.  so we cooked them a really nice 3 course meal, DHmade some awesome cocktails ("i am doing a dry June"), and we sat and talked.  the feedback today was they loved getting their mind off of what the day should have been and i was so happy to be a part of that.  today work is already rip-roaring so should be fun!  but we have to go to Ikea later for our order pickup (new patio table!), so ill have to cut out around 4pm.

CS/Q: my opk strip was a little darker this morning so lets see what that turns into. otherwise nothing interesting

  • @bows22 GL going back in today, get in and out quickly!!! Is everyone in there wearing a mask? I hope so!

@gingermama29 So happy you had a nice weekend, the weather sounds perfect!!!!

  • @mvt2003 yay for a great appointment!!! fx for you!
  • @bows22 ugh that's annoying! Are you going to stay in the office the whole day or just for a bit and then work from home?

@gingermama29 that sounds like a perfect day! I did more pots this year too since we're just going to be home all summer. Usually we go away for a week or two in the summer and all our pots suffer, even if we ask people/neighbors to water them. I'm excited about all the flowers I have going this year.

    Month/Cycle: 14/12

    CD: CD2

WAYDTGKU: I just googled "old wives tales for conceiving" sooo yeah. The article I read was as bad as you'd think LOL

R/R: CD1 snuck up on me- my Fitbit and FF were predicting anywhere between Monday- Wednesday and it showed up on Sunday. My cycle seems to be pretty wonky still from the CP in March so that's my rant. FF has no idea what to predict as my fertile days for June and currently has a 6 day window highlighted so I'm ordering opks for this cycle.

Rave: I wrote about our strawberry patch last week in TWW. We had some rogue strawberry plants take over a corner of our yard this year and they went insane. We got 180 berries off of them this weekend, and another 55 this morning. We had 3 of our neighbors come pick some off this weekend so that 180 was split up a bit. They are soooo good, the best we've ever grown. Has anyone ever tried to preserve them or make jam? Any tips?

    CS/Q:

  • @_orchid_ sorry about AF.  no experience with the strawberries but that's so awesome they yield so much fruit!  are deer not an issue for you?  they're rampant here!
  • @bows22 So annoying about having to go into the office. UGH.

@gingermama29 Hi! That sounds like an amazing weekend. Outdoor time is so important!!

@asf0613 That's so sweet of you guys to make such a nice meal for your friends! And glad that they gave the feedback that it was a nice way to take their mind off of their not-wedding-day.

@mvt2003 Glad you had a great appointment!! Will be sending you good vibes for your transfer and beyond!

@_orchid_ You have me in strawberry envy again :)

R/R: Woke up in excruciating pain last night from AF. I swear my cycles are getting more and more painful. I'm planning to bring it up with my obgyn when I see her later this month. Otherwise - it's a beautiful day today and should continue to be nice this week, so looking forward to spending some time outdoors!!

    CS/Q: nope

  • @inthewoods23 Ha I totally did the due date calculator, and it would be March 1! I'd probably hang around both bmbs, hoping if I get there I have some friends join me! FX!!!!!!!

@priyadoc Ugh I'm so sorry, AF sucks. I've noticed she's changed as I've gotten older, which is the ultimate mind game IMO :D

@_orchid_ I'm so jealous of your strawberries!!!!!!

@asf0613 Sounds like a really nice weekend! Cheers to your friends!!!

  • @mvt2003 yay for a great appointment and that you don't need to go back this week! I hope this week goes by quickly for you!!

@asf0613 that was so nice of you to celebrate your friends. I can't imagine putting all that work and energy into a wedding to have something like this happen. Yes we get deer mostly in our backyard - we have a river that goes behind our house and they walk up it and sometimes go in the yard. Our strawberries are in our front yard. We're in the part of NNJ that houses are basically on top of each other so rarely see the deer out front- too many cars/people.
  • @mvt2003 yes please!! Depending on how I fudge conception date around, I get somewhere between March 3rd and 5th. Which shit, is usually our first week of robotics competition and it's always the travel regional. Uh oh  :D It possible the entire season/competition may stay virtual though so who knows if it will be a big deal.. Depends on how the pandemic looks come the next school year. I bet it would be just our luck that the cycle it all finally comes together for us makes the worst due date haha

  • @priyadoc sorry about the painful AF! Hope your had a good weekend celebrating YH bday. I'm hoping to get outside today too!

@inthewoods23 your post inspired me to move myself out on the deck, so I got everything ready and then the neighbor's lawn guy showed up LOL. hoping to get out once he's done! Our deck faces east too so sometimes it's hard to work out there bc it's so bright, but I like it for lunches/dinners outside.

@bows22 that sounds like a perfect birthday! I'm so jealous of June birthdays - I'm a December and it's always freezing and dark on my birthday lol. But I never feel bad about eating a ton of cake bc bathing suit season is so far away so I guess it balances out 😂 birthday naps should be a thing every year!!

R/R: Happy Monday!! We had a really nice weekend, but it went by way too fast!! We got some stuff done in the yard, relaxed a little, and I actually did some work so this week would hopefully be a little less crazy/stressful! IUI was this morning...all went well and DH’s count/motility was good! Now, we wait! I’m feeling hopeful about this cycle and just trying not to stress/worry! Whatever happens, happens!

    CS/Q: None.

@bows22 so sorry you are back over here...and just in time for me to head over to TWW! 😢 That’s annoying about your boss’s response. Hopefully you can just make it a short visit to the office today! So glad to hear you had an awesome birthday!!

@gingermama29 your weekend sounds absolutely wonderful! Yes, that is the perfect Summer weather...it was too hot here this weekend, but it’s supposed to be in the 70’s next weekend! Yay!! Another Animal Crossing fan here! I had never played it until this one, but it’s so fun/relaxing! Who is your favorite villager?! Mine is Sherb...we actually lucked out with him as one of the first we found on an island!

@asf0613 that’s great you had a good weekend...and that you were able to help your friends keep their minds off of the fact that it was supposed to be their wedding day! That’s rough, but hopefully they can reschedule soon!

@mvt2003 I’m so dang excited for you!! Come on Sunday!!! I hope this week flies by for you and is as relaxing as possible!

@_orchid_ sorry AF showed up unexpectedly! I hope things normalize for you this cycle! That’s awesome about the strawberry patch...enjoy all those berries!

@priyadoc so sorry AF shows and is so painful!! I hope the pain gets better quickly! Good job on looking at the bright side about the nice weather, I hope you can get out and enjoy it!

@inthewoods23 doing your morning meetings outside sounds lovely! Lol to the cozy slippers...maybe go for some flip flops or even barefoot tomorrow? Hope you do have an easy work week ahead!

  • @_orchid_ hahah damn lawn mowers!! That's why we have a robot lawn mower - so quiet you can talk to someone right next to it!

@bluetickgal I took the slippers off but kept my socks on  :D It always much colder in our basement where my home desk is. I just talked to DH about getting some kind of hanging outdoor chair and he likes the idea. That way I can be in the shade in the mornings!!

@inthewoods23 DH wanted to sit outsite and work too and i passed.  its nice out but too hot with sun on top of you.  plus i need all my stuff from my desk it would just be a pain
@_orchid_ ah yes we're NNJ too but we're pretty spread out and deer run the block, ha!  the strawberries must look so pretty though!
@bluetickgal i did the same with work in hopes it would help, but i'm still having a crazy day.  better luck next time!

  • @asf0613 glad you had a nice weekend and were able to help distract your friend.

@mvt2003 sending all the positive vibes for your transfer on Sunday! So excited for you!!

@_orchid_ sorry about AF. And wow, that's a lot of strawberries!! No suggestions for preservation.

@priyadoc ugh sorry for the pain from AF. I hope you enjoy your outside time!

@inthewoods23 outside sounds like a great way to do morning meetings. Sorry it was so hot today.

@bows22 yes, the bonfire was at my house. We haven't visited anyone yet (but hopefully soon).

@bluetickgal glad you had a nice and productive weekend. I saus it in the IF thread, but reiterating here that I'm crossing everything for you! I'm still learning a bunch of the villagers. I don't mind Shari but I don't know enough of them to have a favorite yet. I just got 3 new ones that moved to my island.

@gingermama29 @bluetickgal Are the villagers on your AC the same names as those in pocket camp?  i recognize both names ha!  If they are and this applies, my favorite is Beau!
    eta: words
  • @inthewoods23 you got me at robot lawn mower. Is it still a push one or a roomba like one? I got out on the deck in the afternoon in the shade and it is woooonderful. Being outside 200% more than I would normally be at work is one of the things I'm so thankful for despite everything going on.

@asf0613 I'm always amazed at how many deer I do see, and then I go a little further out and it's crazy! I used to work way up at the top of Bergen county and I'd eat lunch outside and have them walk by like 5 feet from me. Always amazes me that they didn't care I was there!
  • @inthewoods23 a hanging outdoor chair sounds like a fun option!
@asf0613 ugh, that stinks you are still super busy! I hope things slow down a bit after today at least! To your AC question...I think they are, but there are some additional ones on New Horizon. Sherb is just the best! Klaus is awesome too (don’t know if he was on Pocket Camp or not)...it’s funny because DH and I both disliked him when he first visited, but now we totally love him! I haven’t met Beau yet, but I’ll be on the look out for him! ☺️
@gingermama29 thanks, friend...I definitely appreciate it! I only know the ones we have now or have had (we have gotten rid of a couple and replaced them already)...so I don’t actually know anything about Shari. It’s fun having a variety of personalities and animal types though! Hope you like your new villagers!
  • @_orchid_ yes it's like a Roomba, but it cuts your grass! We don't own it, but have it as a service. It stays on our property and then the company stores it during the winter months. It cuts everything randomly vs the nice straight lines. Essentially our grass never looks more than 3 days old or so. We went on vacation last year for a week (the first year we used this service) and when we came back it still looked fairly well manicured! No more "man it looks like they haven't mowed their lawn in 2 weeks". It's been so helpful 1 - DH has more time for other things and doesn't have to deal with the sweltering heat, 2 - no more having to move cars to get the lawn mower out from the garage, 3 - all liability is on the mower service company so if someone tries to steal it from our yard they get notified! Also, if we ever decided to update our yard with new garden areas, etc they will come out for free and redo the wire they place in the ground that acts as the border. I can talk up this service all day, it's great!

  • @_orchid_ yes exactly!! i see multiple deer per day!
@inthewoods23 i will never tire of hearing about the lawn moving robot!  everyone on my street has perfectly manicured lawns with the lines though, and i do love that look.  not that we have that, but a girl can dream, right?!?!
  • @asf0613 haha my neighbors have a couple large trees in their front yard and I chuckle watching them mow sometimes because they'll circle the trees a bunch, like way more out from it than necessary before they start doing their back and forth stuff. DH is also driven a little crazy because they seem to ride the mower way too fast so they don't quite get an even cut everywhere.

For anyone actually curious, we the company we use is Robin Autopilot, but I don't think they're in many areas right now. If you're interested in the mower itself, it's a RoboMow brand robotic mower. They only weigh around 40lbs so even I can pick it up and move it around if needed.

  • @inthewoods23 that's awesome! I'm imagining what it must've been like the first few weeks you had it there... I'd probably forget and then be like WTF is that thing going across my yard??!! I forget, do you have pets? Were they mystified it?

Our yard is so tiny that it only take about 25 minutes to mow front/back. All of our neighbors have the same yard service and get their grass cut on the same day, so we always look like "that house" bc they're all on the same schedule. But paying someone to do a 25 minute job is not worth it to us except in the spring when it seems like we have to do it every other day lol
  • @inthewoods23 SO happy to hear it was benign.  now you can rest easy!
