GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read? I wish I had time to read these days. I love a huge variety of books so it’s hard to choose one. Jodi Piccoult books are always good.
Raves/Rants: Starting to get mild heartburn in the evenings, I’m really hoping it doesn’t progress as with my last pregnancy in 2016 it was horrible (no matter what I ate) and I had to take Zantac every evening.
Questions: None
GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read? I’m not a big book reader, but my 6 year old received The Hobbit for his birthday and we are reading it together.
Raves/Rants: The past few days I’ve been super sick bouncing between just not being able to keep anything down and a migraine but today I’m feeling a little bit better. This whole time my toddler has been so freaking patient, you guys! I’m so proud of this little monster. He’s been building me duplo sculptures and bringing me his water bottle. What a sweet bean!
Questions: How much weight have you gained so far? I get weird about this because I am sick so much when I’m pregnant my weight gain seems slow to me. This time I’m almost to 26 weeks and I’ve gained just under 4lbs.
GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read?
I love books and worked in book stores for 12 years so I have so many favorites it would be hard to pick. The 2 that I’ve been recommending lately are The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern which is a gorgeous fairytale for grownups and Sacré Bleu a comedy d’art by Christopher Moore which is like a masterpiece combination of humor, magic, romance, and art history. Warning that Christopher Moore’s books can be a little on the side of naughty humor. Currently I’m trying something new and I’ve checked out an audiobook on a free app from my public library. I never get to read since I had Victor and it’s been bugging me lately so I’ve found this way to be ‘reading’ while I’m chasing a toddler/doing chores and so far I love it! I’m reading Trespassers by Tana French (an Irish mystery writer that I love) and it is really intriguing so far plus it is fun to have it read to me in an Irish accent.
EDD/weeks+days: Sept 2nd 27+1 3rd Trimester!!! Only 12 weeks left!
Gender/team green: Pink!
Baby is the size of a(n): Fennec Fox
Upcoming appointments: Reg OB next week and hematology at the end of the month
Raves/Rants: Rave: My weight gain appears to have slowed. Thank you good weather and feeling okay for making it possible to have more activity. This pregnancy the weight has came on fast and strong so I am happy that the last 3 weeks appear to have leveled. Rant: We moved my boys in to a joint room with two twin beds and whoever designed/built our house did not center the window that is on the wall with their headboards and it is making the perfectionist in me completely wig out. I cannot stand it!!! I am literally been researching putting in a larger window so that it will be centered. It is off by 11.5".
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read? I am not a big reader, but when I do it is normally has to do with minimalism or personal finance. I did read To All The Boys I Loved Before by Jenny Han in March because I liked the movie. I think it had been years since I read a fiction book before that. I am a TV watcher.
@beaandthebabes I'm just now getting back to my pre pregnancy weight. With F, I was closing in on 20 lbs of gain at this point so I'm not sure what to think lol
EDD/weeks+days: 25w6d

Questions:
GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read? This is hard for me. I used to read a lot, but haven't lately for multiple reasons. My all time favorites though, the ones I could go back to over and over, are the Handmaid's Tale (although it's difficult emotionally to read) and Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Whenever someone is looking for a book rec, I ALWAYS say Redeeming Love. I read it three times in a row, and when I gave it as a gift to my work mom, it made it's rounds through my work and everyone who read it had the same reaction.
Momma to 3 angels and two amazing children

Upcoming appointments: I’m planning to do the glucose test Wednesday
Raves/Rants: I’m glad the weather is nicer but I’d love for it to hang more in the 70’s. Also I’m starting to look for decorations for my DS new room. Already moved his clothes over to the new dresser! I’m thinking a dinosaur theme because everyday he pretends to be a dinosaur lol.
Questions: things are reopening here. Has anyone thought about taking their other Littles to the zoo? I’m still feeling it’s too soon but I’d love to go.
GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read? I’m pretty basic about books. I love the Harry Potter series but also read not too long ago the Guernsey Literary potato peel pie society and it was really good!
@beaandthebabes I’ve gained 20 lbs now. I can feel it too! Hoping I slow down and don’t gain much more.
@beaandthebabes I had gained 23lbs by 24 weeks this time, but haven't gained any the last 3 weeks. I am hoping the slow in gaining continues and to keep the gain within 35lbs, but I also am not trying at all to reign it in. I had rhubarb pie for breakfast.
@ktholysz Good luck with the glucose test! Do you have to wait in the office? As for the zoo ours isn't open yet. I am not sure how we will handle it. I cannot see me taking them in weekend crowds, but maybe early morning on a weekday. I don't know though because if I am going to take risks it will be to see family. I so miss the zoo though. We get a membership for Christmas each year and it is making me sad. Your dino theme made me think of this. I have it in my cart to buy for my boy's room. https://www.target.com/p/decorative-dino-hooks-pillowfort-8482/-/A-77660992
@boymommatwo my heartburn is insane! Two nights ago it kept me up for hours ... I get it between my shoulder blades and in my jaw when it's really bad. I've been maxing out on tums daily haha ... at the end of my previous preg I was taking Zantac but imagine I will be getting on those sooner than later!
@beaandthebabes at my 21 week OB appt I had already gained 24 lbs. I gained 37 at my max with my first so hoping to stay in the same area ... I'm relatively fit so not stressing and still work out a few times per week (& eat tons of shit haha)
@Louise_Belcher could you hang curtains in a way that makes it look like the window is centered? You know how people hang curtains higher to make windows look longer, maybe you could do that with width?
EDD/weeks+days: 23+6
Gender/team green: Green
Baby is the size of a(n): Honestly can't remember haha
Upcoming appointments: OB appt June 9th
Raves/Rants: Heartburn. So much heartburn.
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read? I read All the Missing Girls last year and really liked it.
@Louise_Belcher I have to go to a lab I’m hoping they let me go sit in the car. I was thinking I’m just not ready for the zoo. We have a membership too and I just figure if I don’t go at least it helped feed the animals. And that hook looks just like the signs I just ordered from Hobby Lobby!
@megsmcp That was my original plan when I discovered that it was not centered, but after further figuring I realized it would make the viewable part of the window oddly small. It is a small window to begin with and we would have to cover almost a foot of it to give the appearance of it being centered. Also our windows open right to left so it would still appear off center due to where the center line of the stationary part of the window would land between the curtains. My grandfather thinks it wouldn't be hard to replace, but he is far more gutsy and handy than H and I and H would have to do most of the work.
Upcoming appointments: Glucose test coming up this month
Raves/Rants: I have been stressed about being stressed. Anytime I feel angry or stressed, I worry it might be hurting the baby's development.
Much more minor but I also need a filling repaired in a back molar and I'm not excited for that.
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read? Right now, I'm reading Agatha Christie books to distract myself. I also just read "Hidden Valley Road" which is about a family of 12 with a high incidence of schizophrenia. It made me want to add a choline supplement to my prenatal.
Upcoming appointments: Had my appointment today. Next is the glucose test sometime before my next appointment.
Raves/Rants:
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read? I like dystopian teen type stuff usually. Not too long ago I read 'Redeeming Love' and while not typically what I would read I loved it. Since then I've really struggled to find something to read. I've started so many books that I just can't get into. 'A Dangerous Act of Kindness' is another I've been slowly reading.
@beaandthebabes at my appt last week I had gained 14 pounds. Compared to my other two pregnancies I’m pretty slow to gain but after being sick and disinterested in food for the first 16 weeks I’m not surprised. I didn’t feel that way with my other two.
EDD/weeks+days: Sept. 14th/25 weeks+3 days
Gender/team green: pink
Baby is the size of a(n): cauliflower
Upcoming appointments: televisit on June 25th
Raves/Rants: Not either because I’m not sure how I feel, but we talked at my appointment about inducing at 39 weeks to avoid baby getting too big to avoid too much vaginal trauma. I had a lot of scar tissue from my first and then a 4th degree tear with my second so more scar tissue on top of that. I’m not opposed to inducing, but that would make it 9/7 and my niece’s birthday is the 8th and my dad’s the 9th. Maybe I’m being silly, but I don’t want this baby to have to share. DS2 shares a birthday and its not ideal.
Questions:
GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read? The Harry Potter series is my all time favorite. Recently I’ve read Where the Crawdads Sing and it was great. I’m in the middle of Jessica Simpson’s book to satisfy the inner 19 year old me.
@itsmehere1212 I completely understand not wanting shared birthdays. My due date is 2 days after DS1’s birthday and I really don’t want them to share. I should be induced a week or so early though so hopefully that helps avoid it.
Upcoming appointments: had my intake appt over the phone today and my next in-person appt isn't until 7/6. I'll be 29 weeks! They want to try to get me in earlier & i'm on a waiting list so we will see.
Raves/Rants: today was my first day off this week and it was nice! I have another day off tomorrow. My mil bought a box of diapers so they can start making a diaper cake for my shower. They're so cute!! hello bello brand, they seem good! As far as weight gain i've gained 5 lbs since my first appt but since I lost weight after that it's technically 14 lbs? either way i'm okay with it. I love to eat though so I should probably stop eating as much as I am lol
Questions: none
GTKY: What’s your favorite book you are reading or have read? Hmm I don't really read enough to have a favorite book
@greyl glad you found a new office! They will catch you up once you go in at 29 weeks. You’ll be at every other week at that point anyway.
@itsmehere1212 that’s a conversation I still need to have with my office. I was thinking about bringing up induction next appointment but I also don’t like all the covid rules going on. So the less time at the hospital the better. We do have an early September birthday in my family but we also have other September birthdays that share the day. They are cousins and think it’s really fun! No way am I making it to the 19th so this guy can share that day too lol.
@beaandthebabes so far I have gained 12 lbs since I found out I was pregnant. I was overweight already at the start of the pregnancy so I know my OB doesn’t want to gain significant amounts of weight but hasn’t said anything about my weight being an issue so far. I don’t know how much I had gained my last two pregnancies at this point but gained in total 35 lbs with my first pregnancy and around 25 lbs my second pregnancy (I started overweight with my second pregnancy too). I’m expecting to keep it around 25 lbs this pregnancy.
@megsmcp sorry to hear you are having bad heartburn too. I haven’t maxed out on Tums yet but expect I will be soon (which reminds me I need to buy more).
@robyn2201 I haven’t read the books but love Outlander on Showtime.
