    No worries, @cassafrass15!

How far along are you? 10 weeks

Share your PGAL story if you'd like, or previously have not. TFMR at 16w3d this past December for T21 and cystic hygroma

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Physically fine, coming out of the fatigue/nausea fog and ready to be productive. Emotionally, as far as the pregnancy goes I'm still in the numb, one-day-at-a-time mode. My NIPT is coming up in a couple of weeks, so I anticipate that my anxiety will spike as it gets closer. Probably doesn't help that this appointment is the day before my previous EDD (my due date is also a day before the 1st anniversary of my TFMR...is the universe playing with me?). Beyond that, just feeling sad, angry, and frustrated with all the events going on. I want to help, but feel like I can't (physically I don't feel it's safe for me to be in a crowd, both for COVID but also the risk of falling, being pushed, or god forbid hit with a rubber bullet or gas canister; I could donate money to organizations that help, but with my husband's employment situation we need to save everything we can), so am very frustrated.

Any upcoming appointments? Check-in and bloodwork on Friday

GTKY: What’s the last thing you read digitally or in print? Read "The Unhoneymooners" by Christine Lauren. Stupid, but enjoyable and went quickly. Currently working on another novel from my mother, but can't remember the name.

Thanks @akoros! I felt bad when I realized, but it was already too late in the week to start it. Would have been weird!

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Better! I’ve had some random headaches, and some (TMI) constipation, but I have more energy and I’m less moody. DH is so glad.

Any upcoming appointments? Waiting for my NIPT results, so that’s nerve wracking. Next OB appt 6/17.
GTKY: What’s the last thing you read digitally or in print? I’m in the process of reading “Me and White Supremacy” by Layla F. Saad. So far it’s been enlightening!

@akoros I totally understand your frustration with current events. I joined a local FB group comprised of other concerned citizens and we’re discussing actions we can safely take in order to support POCs and the movement in general. Some ways to engage that have been suggested: do some research on the deescalation policies of your local PD and encourage them to adopt more (they almost always can/should), research your city/county representatives running for office and vote for those who support equality, support black-owned businesses (WeBuyBlack has a good list), call or write to your state legislators and governor about reducing mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug crimes. Sorry if you’ve seen these before!

Thanks, @cassafrass15! I've seen some of that before, but not all (and let's be real, my memory is not doing well these days, particularly when stressed).

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? EVERYTHING IS GOOD ON THE NIPT! Such a relief after last time when the NIPT was the beginning of the wheels coming off. No abnormalities. I wouldn't say I'm happy, exactly. Just relieved. Oh, and it's a boy! I thought it was going to be a girl - shows what I know! Now to just try to get my husband to be okay with a name other than Vincent. I know it's a fine name, but I really really dislike it. Especially the nn "Vinny." I think it's important to at least be willing to deal with any nicknames you come up with for any name you pick, and Vinny is a hard no for me.

Any upcoming appointments? Just a regular OB appointment in about a month. Can't even remember the date.

GTKY: What’s the last thing you read digitally or in print? My 9yo son and I have been crushing the Percy Jackson series. Nice and easy and light for the pandemic. So, I've been reading those.

@akoros and @cassafrass15 , I found this link that gave some good ideas on how to help out. I've been working my way through it.

How far along are you? 13 weeks today!

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Still exhausted and nauseous. I’ve recently started to get headaches, so I’m hoping the nausea will start to settled down. I had my NT scan last week and everything was good! The tech was a chatter box so I got to watch baby for nearly an hour! I have an appointment to have a phlebotomist coming to my home Thursday for NIPT blood draw. I’m anxious to get back results and don’t love how long it’s taking, I don’t like pushing this too far.

Otherwise I’m also just very upset, distracted and concerned with everything going on. I wish I could be out in the community helping to support but am just so scared of exposing myself to COVID or putting my pregnant self in harms way. Thanks for sharing the resources for options to help from home. This has been something I’m trying to look into. Otherwise I’m doing my best to support my students and being vocal as much as I can from my small bubble.

Any upcoming appointments? A regular check up in three weeks and then anatomy scan in 4 weeks after that.

GTKY: What’s the last thing you read digitally or in print? They all blend together, but likely it was “P is for Potty” or one of a billion Dr. Seuss books.

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?  Better than before, still not 100%, but probably will not til after baby.  Still feeling tired and weak with bouts of nausea, SI joint and lumbar soreness.  Bump is apparent to me now.
I'm also feeling like my mind is moving past fear of another loss again.  Even though I am far past the point of my previous loss, for the majority of the time up til now I've not had the urge to buy baby things, tell distant friends/relatives, or to think about delivery.  Now I'm there and deep down I'm feeling like there will be a real baby at the end of this year!  It's a nice feeling, as well as feeling the depression from a prolonged TTC course + loss has really gone away.

Any upcoming appointments?  Regular checkin with doppler HR check in 2 weeks.

GTKY: What’s the last thing you read digitally or in print?
I only read text for work (boo).  Since that's no fun, I'm an audible person and the last thing I listened to was "Between the World and Me" - Ta-Nehisi Coates
  • @notvincent Thanks for the link! And that’s great about your NIPT results!!

@jchpg Hooray for a good NT scan!

@gh1219 Glad you’re starting to feel more confident in the pregnancy. I need to jump on the audible bandwagon - it sounds a lot easier than finding time to sit down with a book these days!

@gh1219 Echoing that it's great that you're starting to really "feel" the pregnancy and get excited! Also that your depression is going away.
