Bouncers/Swings you're interested in: I was initially gonna go for the Graco DuetConnect LX with Multi-Direction. I have been offered Babybjorn's Bouncer Bliss from a cousin who is done using it (they used it the past 7 months).

Cost (either actual dollar amount, or just $, $$, $$$, etc.): $$$ for both, but I would get the Babybjorn for free

Any questions for S+TMs?: Does anyone have any feedback on these bouncers?

  • @mimser I totally wanted a Baby Bjorn bouncer last time and never was willing to spend the money. If you can get one for free, do it!

Has anyone used the Bloom Coco Go bouncer? It's pricey ($200?), but I like the look, and it seems quality.

  • I decided on the Fisher Price Sweet Little Lamb cradle 'n swing mostly because I like a certain aesthetic and I hate the look of a lot of baby gear. Also, I know a bunch of mom's who love this swing, so that works for me.

Not going to get a bouncer since we have limited floorspace and I'm getting the bomb activity mat that will probably take up half my living room.

  • @hedgepig I personally do not, but I saw one for sale on Mercari the other day, brand new in box for cheaper than the list price.

STM here: my advice is don't spend a lot of money on a swing or bouncer. My first wouldn't let us put her down in ANYTHING for the first few months, it didn't matter how fancy it was. My second would occasionally sit in a simple bouncer but not enough to spend big bucks on something.

  • @mimser our babies have loved a baby bouncer with a slight vibration function. It helped with gas and so forth. If this weren’t our last baby I would so get the bjorn bouncer. Mainly because I like the way it looks. Our nanny with #2 had a bjorn as I recall and baby #2 loved it.
  • @name1109 yes! Make sure your bouncer/swing has the vibration function. DS struggled with constipation the first 6ish months and the vibration always seemed to help him.

I second the point about not spending tons of money. You can get a lot of swings and bouncers used and in like new condition which a.) speaks to how underused they often are and is b.) a good safeguard if your LO doesn't like something. If you absolutely want new, wait to get it until after they arrive. It's not the kind of thing that's necessary during the first few weeks when all they do is sleep. And then you can bring them with you to the store and see if you can get some ideas by their response to being put in them.

@laurenmicheley I have that swing. Not quite the same theme, but Fisher Price and the same functions. DS enjoyed it pretty well. Again, like my first point, I got it used and it was practically brand new so keep your eyes out on Facebook Marketplace and such!
