There's a thread called "ask a BTDT (been there done that) Mom", check it out and ask any specific questions there.

  • First time here too, although I have been a nanny for several families over the last 7 years. Not sure what kind of advice you need or if you just want a friend to talk to, but i'm here if you need

Also an FTM here! I personally thrive on research and learning - it makes me feel prepared. I’m 33 and a lot of my close friends already have kids, some starting kindergarten, and so I’ve learned A LOT by asking close friends about their fave products/resources. What to do/what not to do, etc. my best friend is literally helping me build my registry to ensure I don’t add useless things or waste $$ on expensive impractical stuff. Also ensuring I register for the stuff I’ll need right away so my house isn’t overtaken by 12 months of baby stuff all at once.

Recently read through the book Newborns 101 which also gave some really great advice on how to prepare (I.e. what to buy, what not to buy, and what to expect in the first few months I.e 4th Trimester). Also I’ve completely bought into the Happiest Baby movement - although I have NO idea if the methods will work with our baby, but I’m willing to give it a shot.

Agree with @willashbaby the BTDT thread is a great resource, but also thinking we should probably have a FTM thread for all of us to bounce stuff off of each other!
  • @shelmcclel this is a zombie thread :) go ahead and start a FTM chat thread!
  • Also a FTM my husband has not been supportive and I am looking to talk to anyone in a similar situation. idk if anyone else here can relate but if you do message me.
