@mimser agreed! I am in TN which was one of the first states to begin opening back up and of course my office was all too happy to get us back in ASAP. I worry about catching it while pregnant too.
@mimser I agree! It seems to me that the thing we need most urgently is better protections for the workers who have to be around other people: hazard pay, decent healthcare, childcare, and job security if they have to take time off because they got sick.
I left my job working with elderly and immunocompromised patients because my employer wasn’t going to provide adequate protective equipment and from an ethical standpoint, I just couldn’t be on board with that. I’m fortunate to have that be a choice, but not everyone else is as lucky. We as a society need to do better.
Yea I am terrified to go back to work. I work in the preschool part of a childcare center, and apparently we have 5 pages of guidelines we have to follow when we go back, including the teachers having to wear masks. I’m just imagining how absolutely terrifying it’s going to be for those little ones to get dropped off curbside to a bunch of people wearing masks!! Oh my gosh. It’s going to be really hard for us to comfort them. Plus all the added cleaning and sanitizing...it’s just going to be such a nightmare.
@mimser I completely agree. The pandemic isn’t over just because we’re ready for things to be normal again.
I don’t know if it’s an UO per se, but if a friend sends me a message via social media to sell me their MLM stuff, I usually unfriend them 😬. I don’t want to pretend to reconnect only to have them ask me to get on their Arbonne team or whatever. (I’ll note that I have some friends who sell stuff who aren’t like that at ALL.)
Re: UO Thursday 05/21
We as a society need to do better.
I guess I’ll call that my UO. 🙈
