introduce yourself and share as much (or as little) as you would like. Once
you're ready, feel free to jump into any of our daily/weekly threads to

How many months have you been TTC?: Just started 1/1
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Charting, PNV, OPK
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): Hobbies right now are pretty much surviving shelter in place (ha!). I usually read quite a bit, I'm trying to get through Jane Austen's books right now. I'm planning to start running again this week if it ever stops raining. More in the box!
I'm here trying for a sibling, I was part of this community when I was trying for my daughter in 2016/17. She is now 2 1/2. I am a stay at home mom with her.
Three years ago we didn't use spoiler boxes quite as much as they seem to be used now, I will do my best to learn the new culture! This is my first attempt at one and I genuinely apologize if it doesn't work and someone is hurt by the reference to my daughter.
Ages: Me: 32, SO: 32
Months: 2/2
WAYDTGNU: PNV, charring, OPKs (although I don’t think successfully)
About Me: no kids, one pup, avid reader with an Instagram blog, love to run and do Orange Theory (when studios are not closed for pandemic!), am an attorney. Hubs is an engineer. We enjoy home projects too!

I'm actually here because I just can't talk to my mom about any of this. She closes up every time I try to confide in her and I get a lot of "just stop thinking about it" advice which isn't super helpful. Each month so far I seem to convince myself that it's happening, but apparently I can't read my body's signals at all! It makes it harder for me that I'm supposed to deploy in the fall, and my months left of trying feel like they're going to slip right out of my hands. I'm really looking for a community I can go to for some support!
I’m sorry for your loss. You can join us in the TTCAL (Trying To Conceive After Loss) thread if you feel like it would be helpful. Also, sorry that you can’t talk with your mom in a helpful way. This group will hopefully fill that gap in your life! We totally get the pressure of trying to make it happen—it makes sense that you feel this acutely with the deployment looming. Hopefully you can learn enough here that it helps you conceive faster & forget about that deadline.
Thank you very much for *your* support!
We've been doing a lot of puzzles too!
i have a hard time talking to my mom after our loss so i have gotten a lot from this group of ladies here. i will see you over in TTCAL and the dailies
Thank you both so much for being so sweet and welcoming! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better
Ages (you and SO): Me: 32, DH: 33
How many months have you been TTC?: Starting on 5/27 after my IUD removal
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Our plan for the moment is to go with the flow, but we'll see how things work out going forward.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): My husband and I have been married 11 years and are both physicians in pediatric fields (genetics for me, ortho for him). We are the parents to one son who passed away in 2008 from a rare form of leukemia. He was 3 and a half. We have two Corgis and spend much of our free time at our weekend home in the Green Mountain Valley of Vermont. We're very outdoorsy and are avid skiiers, hikers, and bikers. My husband is big into rock climbing as well, but I hate heights! I still get nauseated on certain chair lifts!
Would love to chat with any other mothers who have lost children. I am here on the behest of my therapist (also joined another forum as well under the same username as I wasn't sure which of these message boards got the most traffic!) as I'm working towards being the best possible mother for my future children while still honoring my son who has passed.
