I just found out that if you update your chart on FF after copying it into the threads here it updates in the thread. I just copy and paste the chart from desktop when I do it and I made changes after taking my OPK and it updated here. Wild. I might be the only one that finds this amusing.

I still don't understand WHY people test THAT early. I see people posting tests that early on... ahem... OTHER forums... and I just DON'T get it.

Also, when you check in on the Peggy's profile to see when their last login is, juuuuust to make sure they saw your responses and therefore confirm they will never respond to your well thought out and informative answer.

@mvt2003 Right? even with a day 5 embryo transfer, the earliest I've ever seen someone get a positive is 4dpo (aka "9dpo"), but it's most often 5 or more.

If you're getting a positive at 7dpo, you're probably not actually 7dpo. I think people take the "test 5 days before your missed period" way too seriously. If you read the stats on the box, it says the chances of getting a positive 5 days before is maybe 60% or something. For anyone that does test at 10dpo, you're probably like, 3 days before your missed period and that's maybe 80% chance of showing a positive?

@inthewoods23 exactly, and the HPT gods are assuming everyone has an exactly 28 day cycle where they ovulate on CD14 and have a 14 day LP. Anyone with a short LP that's testing at like 4-8dpo because the box tells them to test 5 days before their expected period is going to obviously get a BFN. If you think about it, it's kind of brilliant because you KNOW they're going to test every freaking day until AF so it basically sets them up to fail and therefore buy 15823574 HPTs....

ETA: actually the boxes say 6 days sooner which theoretically could be 7dpo if you have a 13 day LP.

From their website:
"In laboratory testing, FIRST RESPONSE™ detected the pregnancy hormone levels in 76% of pregnant women, 5 days before their expected period; in 96% of pregnant women, 4 days before their expected period; in >99% of pregnant women, 3 days before their expected period; in >99% of pregnant women, 2 days before their expected period; in >99% of pregnant women, 1 day before their expected period; and in >99% of pregnant women, on the day of their expected period."

I think my original percentages are more from the digital test. My CV digital box says 51% getting a positive 4 days before expected period.

Also halle-f*cking-luyah that it's warming up because the pressure tank for our hydronic heating system BURST and thank God I was home because DH's desk is on the other side of the wall of our storage/mechanical room and he didn't hear it at all (bad time to have noise cancelling headphones!). I was right above the system in our living room so I hear it loud and clear. Water was falling from the ceiling. Had to run and grab towels and duct tape to plug the tank. DH got a hose hooked up to drain all the water from the system so we can't turn the heat back on at all until we get this fixed. Either we fix the few corroded parts that failed or we just get a whole new boiler system. Something we might just do because the boiler was installed in like.. 1995 so it's nearing that maximum working life.

Not at all how much water was spraying through the pinhole crack in the tank, but sure felt this way when I walked in the room!

In a weird way, I feel for her. I remember the early days of this and feeling that desperation for it to happen.

That being said, we are not her personal google, and there are plenty of other sites that have lots of anonymous humans absolutely thrilled to offer any and all personal experiences they have all while calling her "hun".

just curious if YH's seem to keep track of TWW timing? since we only really HIO during FW, i think there's a clear timeline, but i swear that if i didn't mention testing, AF, or the like at the end of TWW, DH would never ask my status for weeks on end. the only dead giveaway would be when AF arrives and i pull out my trusty bottle of red.

not sure that i would prefer him to be asking me daily about it because i guess that could be overbearing, but somewhere in the middle might be nice? wondering what the dynamic is for you all

@asf0613 MH has no idea on purpose. He says when he starts to think about it it stresses him out too much and then he has a hard time HIO. Plus he knows that I am keeping such close track if stuff. Sometimes it's frustrating for me bc I feel like it's all on my shoulders, but it is what it is.

@asf0613 MH used to ask a lot during TWW. Now we’ve been at it awhile he doesn’t ask as often. But he will still ask maybe once or twice around 11DPO, and I’m usually like “The tests aren’t showing anything” <shoulder shrug> and he goes about his business. He wants to know but he doesn’t want to stress me out.

Where I feel like all the pressure is on my shoulders is with the healthy eating and exercise. I have had to nag him so many times about taking his supplements and getting some exercise. After a year he finally does those things on his own without my nagging. The next phase is for him to improve his eating habits. If we are paying thousands for egg retrieval soon, he better get his diet right and create the best swimmers ever, g**dammit!

@asf0613 yup same, all on me bc he can't or won't. He's usually very proactive about stuff but I've made peace with the fact that he copes differently than I do with TTC. Especially TTCAL. He gets the luxury to stick his head in the sand and trying to get him to do more is always a fight for us, which is why I usually just let it be. At this point I want to see a fertility Dr but he doesn't bc he doesn't want to know a diagnosis. It's very frustrating.

@asf0613 MH mostly just wants to know the "schedule" for HIO, I am sure by now he is aware that I start testing about 10 days after we stop but he never asks about it, he just waits for me to tell him "nope, not this month."

@keikilove I always have to lead the way with exercise and healthy diet in our house. If I get back into the exercise routine, a few months later he'll do it too. Eating habits are hard for both of us! I feel like after all we go through they can pull it together for that little bit!

MH is a type 1 diabetic and over to 10 years we've been together he has put on weight (all beer gut though, everything else super thin). he does'nt work out and i've constantly nagged but gave up recently. yesterday he ordered a bowflex!! it was so random, but i'm so happy because a) i'll use it and b) him getting into shape will be great for his overall health and also a good investment for our collective fertility.

after our loss, he was surprisingly emotional but not as much as i let on that i was. i think he avoids discussions about TTC and TTCAL not to trigger me, but at a certain point it makes me feel isolated IRL (luckily i have you all).

@asf0613 you'd think by now my H would have the hang of it, but I definitely still have to tell him. For instance, we just had our IUI on Tuesday, and yesterday he asked me if I was on my period. The look I gave him was answer enough lol
