Flame Free Friday Confessional 5/15

Forgive me Bump, for I have sinned....or something...

I spend a ridiculous amount of time lying still and trying to see if I feel baby movement.  As a FTM I really have no idea what I'm feeling for, and at only 17 weeks I know it may still be another few weeks, but I can't help it.  And sometimes I *think* I feel something.
Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

When I got pregnant, my MIL created a board for the baby on Pinterest and added me & MH to it, so I created a separate private board for the baby for stuff that I actually like, lol.

  • @kboydbowman I'm a STM and have felt movement already, and I still spend a ridiculous amount of time doing this too. Something about this point in the pregnancy when I haven't had an anatomy scan yet and am not feeling anything regular is a complete mindf***. I'm certain when I feel movement, but an hour later, I'm back in my head. Hoping for movement for you soon!

My FFFC--Quarantine has been kind of great for my healthy diet. Since I'm home all the time, I always know I can eat when I'm hungry, so I actually am eating much less overall. I tend to overeat less and not get as crazy hungry before I eat when I have more control over my schedule I guess!
  • @kboydbowman my dr. told me that if you *think* you're feeling movement, then you're probably right. I have totally felt some movement, but not a ton and I have been doing the same thing laying around just trying to convince her to move 😆

I hate that my state is opening up, I have to go back to work next week and I am dreading it. We are requiring customers to wear masks (providing one if they don't have one), which is scary because I know some people are going to freak out... and I also don't want to have to wear a mask for 8 hours a day.

I’ve only been working 2 days a week and while it’s bad for our budget, I’ve loved having 5 days off (though my 6 year old is stressing me the eff out). I go back to full time next week and I really don’t want to.

DS2 likes looking out the window so sometimes I’ll put him in the circle of neglect and put him in the front door. I can’t decide if I’m a genius mom or a bad mom. Lol
  • My husband gets moody and grumpy when he's tired... I had a bad nightmare the other night (I have always had vivid and life like dreams) and woke up to my dog growling (which is unusual) I was already freaked out by my dream so I woke up H and asked him to go check on her. Everything was fine, she had just forgotten part of her prebedtime routine and decided 3am was the time to do it, but he was grumpy ALL day. Finally at 6pm I looked at him and asked if he was mad at me, he isnt, just tired and annoyed that he has to move his hand built storage area due to the addition we're putting on our house. Moral of this story though... WTF IS HE GONNA DO WHEN WE HAVE A NEWBORN SCREAMING AT NIGHT!
  • I've been getting McDonald's once a week while stuck home working with a toddler. Sometimes pancakes for the toddler for breakfast, sometimes a happy meal for lunch. It's one less preparing/cleaning up after a meal and she's happy so I'm good. And yes, I get food too. 😂

You will receive no judgment from me @MJDsquared. One of my pregnancy cravings has been McD's chicken nuggets with BBQ sauce, and a few weeks ago I caved and got a cheeseburger happy meal with a side order of nuggets. It was divine.

This is both me and MH. Neither of us are morning people, and I need silence while I have my first cup of coffee. This is legit one of my worries about when the baby comes.

  • @MJDsquared all the McDonalds in England are closed and I want a cheeseburger so bad! No judgement here!

My confession is my toddler is watching so much TV right now and I don’t even care.

  • Mine will be real controversial, but... I’m going to visit my family at the end of the month (they live close to 1,000 miles away).
  • @mckjacks enjoy your family time!  My mother just went into the hospital yesterday because the triple bypass she had last year is failing.  Once she’s released she’s going into hospice care.  I feel horrible I can’t go see her and if she does pass away I can’t take the risk of flying home.  She’s in IL which is a complete hot zone for the virus right now.   The Navy has also placed travel restrictions on us as well and I may not even be allowed to fly back even if I wanted to.  I had a long talk with her, and she understands why I can’t fly home as does the rest of my family.   It breaks my heart but I’m afraid to fly to a state that’s definitely not got the virus under control.  IL is a complete shit show in general anyway.
  • @anitamargarita_82 My sympathies to you and your family.

  • @anitamargarita_82 I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. I also will not be flying— we’ll be doing car handoffs to get me there and back. If only option was to fly I definitely wouldn’t be going.
  • @profmcgonagall Looots of screen time for the toddler here too. Mostly Peppa Pig; she's obsessed and will randomly just start telling me what happened in episodes throughout the day. Lol.

@anitamargarita_82 I'm so sorry, that's so tough. I feel for everyone who has to deal with a loss during this time and isn't able to say goodbye.

@anitamargarita_82  I'm sorry to hear about your situation.  It breaks my heart knowing that people are being forced into these situations where they can't be with loved ones during difficult times.  I'm in a situation where I don't know if I'll ever get to see my father in-person again; his health has been poor for a long time, and he just keeps getting worse.  I feel like coronavirus is stealing so much precious time away from us.

  • Thanks ladies.   It’s been a tough heart breaking pill to swallow.   I always worried it would happen when I was on deployment and not able to come back stateside.  It’s an entirely different feeling of guilt not being able to fly home now.
  • @anitamargarita_82 I'm so sorry that is just another way this virus is disrupting lives :( sending you a big hug!

I’ve gotten addicted to 90 day fiancée. It seems kind of gross and exploitative and I feel like I morally shouldn’t watch it but I’m hooked 🤷‍♀️

  • @Kurtni I used to love that show when it first came out.   I watched the first few seasons because it’s such a train wreck you can’t not watch it.   I always wonder how naive are some of these people!!!! Like they’re clearly being used for money and access to the US. Have you seen the first few seasons?  With Danielle and Mohamed?  And the girl whose desperately trying to marry Azan in Morocco.  What a mess!

@anitamargarita_82 I’m on season 1, I started at the beginning. It’s definitely cringey. One of the girls straight up said “I got denied for a work visa so that’s when our relationship started” 😅

@Kurtni @anitamargarita_82  I definitely watch 90 Day Fiancee because it is a train wreck.  Usually DH makes fun of me for watching what he calls "garbage TV," but I have gotten him hooked to this show.  It's funny because he will ask me for updates if he misses an episode.
