Any stroller/carseat recommendations? Looking for a carseat and stroller combo and also a jogging stroller. I'm pretty active so something that's easy to maneuver when I'm out and about!
We really liked our Graco travel system and we still have the stroller and will probably use it again. Do you live near a buy buy baby? I highly recommend going and testing out as many stroller and car seat combos as you can. Make sure you can fold it, lift it, put the car seat on it, etc.
Biggest things to consider is how the carseat fits in YOUR car, and how heavy of a stroller you want to deal with/what features you need. We really need the jogger this go round since my husband runs so much. We're getting the Thule Urban Glide 2. There are several adapters available for carseats, we're just going to use the universal one with our Graco carseat until baby is big enough to just go in the stroller and we stop using the infant carrier (probably around 6/7 months). Sites like Lucie's List and Baby Gear Lab really helped us narrow down what would work and then we went from there to pick.
This is the only “pricey” thing we’re looking at, but we’re going to get a BabyJogger City Mini GT2. We spend a LOT of time at the Disney parks and this stroller seems like it’s built for it. It folds super easily, is lightweight, and I love the hydraulic brake. Having parked hundreds of strollers for guests, the foot brakes are a pain in the butt. Their parent company is Graco, and the new model has a car seat adapter built right into it for Graco infant car seats, or you can get the Baby Jogger one. We’re still deciding on the car seat, since I have serious anxiety about car accidents.
@dreamscapes_ we had that the first time! It's a great stroller, ours is still in great condition and DS still fits in it. We're giving it to my Mom for this one when she has the baby and getting the Thule for ourselves since we need the jogger. We used the Graco adapter and it was super easy.
I’m getting the Keyfit carrier and a little caddy to go with it instead if the full stroller. I don’t want to get the Chicco accompanying stroller that goes with it because I’d rather have a jogging stroller with an infant carrier insert since we go on so many trail walks these days. I’m getting the Bob Rambler because my sister has it and loves it.
I second what @willashbaby said about making sure it fits in your car and fits with what you need. I would also say that with my first, I got a great stroller combo (Britax b agile) but then had a second baby 19 months later! I wound up getting a baby jogger city select with a second seat, and when we had our 3rd I got the ride on glider board attachment. I love it, and I still get moms asking about it everywhere I go. If you are thinking about having more than one relatively close together then I would encourage you to at least consider strollers that have options for two or more kids. If someone had told me that when I was pregnant with my first it would have saved us a bunch of money!
I agree! I loved my Graco combo but my son, almost 4 still likes to ride in the Stoller so we needed a double quickly. I didn't want to spend a ton of money so got a cheap older model Graco double off of a buy and sell but now have 2 stollers sitting around and baby 3 on the way, no option to make it for 3 kids though one usually goes in the basket anyway... If I were to do it over again I would buy a Graco carseat because we loved it and it fit into every vehicle we needed it to, and buy a city select or one that converts from 1 to 2 to 3 (glider board). Graco has one like that now as well.
@readermom1 oh that's def something to think about! I knew mine would be far apart, that's the only reason we got the city mini gt. The Thule that we're getting now can have a glider board so we'll be getting that. DS will be 5 by the time we use it but sometimes we go for very long (3+ mile) walks and he does eventually get tired.
@aqwalters I have the KeyFit and the caddy and I love it! I bought the caddy used at a church sale and it was super handy. It's very convenient, the carseat snaps right in.
