GTKY Monday 5/11

What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?

We've all got skills of some sort of another. It doesn't have to be jaw-dropping, just something interesting. Weither its painting, playing a musical instrument, whatever. Let's hear about it?

  • @cheers28 I’m always telling my family and DH that I wish there were older teams. I would love to still stunt. It was my favorite part of cheerleading! Keeps you in such amazing shape running through routines!

@dreamscapes_ wow that sounds amazing. I want to see a picture too

@bearmomma1 I wish I knew how to play the piano. I always wanted to learn and so jealous of people that can. I was never musically inclined haha

For me, I'd say most impressive is that I can tap dance. I have been doing it for almost 10 years now and I'm pretty good at it. I enjoy it so much!
  • @conni0205 - An all star gym in my area actually has an open adult team, so maybe look around your area! My assistant coach and I were actually going to look into joining it this upcoming season....but I'm pregnant now so that's not going to happen, lol.
  • @cheers28 I have, unfortunately right now in my area there aren’t any. Hopefully there will be in the future!
  • @willashbaby I’m so jealous that you can figure skate. I can’t even ice skate. Last time I tried, I came home with a giant blister on my ankle and I will never do it again 😂
  • @bartonolivia. Those portraits are stunning.  I painted for like ten years during school, but mostly stuck with landscapes.  I still paint now, but mostly paint by numbers.  I love how relaxing the activity is, but just don't have the mental bandwidth to be creative.
  • @bartonolivia ouch! That's par for the course though. My feet are basically destroyed from only 6 years of competitive skating. When I do skate now I still use "good" skates. Nothing you get from a regular shop will actually be good, you have to go to a skate shop and be fitted. My current skates I had to oven/hot sock mold about 10 times before I had a decent fit, lol! They still aren't very broken in since I don't even have 30 hours in them.
  • @willashbaby. That is bringing back so many memories for me.  My sister was a competitive speed skater and they had to do the same thing with her boots.  She did it on a roller rink for many years, but then did figure skating in high school for one season.  She was so tiny compared to all the other girls, but dang she was fast.
  • @bartonolivia wow your portraits are amazing. You draw really well. I’m impressed.
