Re: Weekly Workouts & Mindfulness 5/8-5/14
Running when the weather is nice, walking when it isn't. Also power yoga. I used to be a big gym person, but everything is closed around here. And it's not like I want to be the first person back at the gym when they open...
What are you doing for your mental health?
I've basically been "on strike" at work this week. Doing the bare minimum needed to get by. Homeschooling + working + dealing with everything was getting to be too much, and I needed something to give. I'm feeling a lot better now than I was at the beginning of the week when I had a total meltdown about a broken printer (which was just the last straw with everything going wrong).
What mindfulness practices are you doing?
I've been meditating for awhile now. ~175 days in a row, according to Headspace. It makes a big difference.
Do you have any questions for the board?
Does anyone have a meditation app that they love? I've been using Headspace but wonder if there are others that are better.
What physical workouts are you doing? Sticking with Peloton, I've been sticking with 30 minute classes and just going for music I enjoy. I'm trying to stick to every other day and at least do a 2+ mile walk on days I don't spin.
What are you doing for your mental health? Just trying to maintain a balance, worry about what I have control over and forget the rest. I think I'll feel much better after my first scan Monday. I'm either going to Costco after to stock up or coming home and getting drunk if it's not good. Keeping it real!
What mindfulness practices are you doing? I'm really focusing on being as patient as possible with my 4YO. I know this isn't easy on him either and he's just being 4.
Do you have any questions for the board? Not today.
Toning 3 days a week (arms and booty).
Walking on my lunch break.
Yard work on the weekends.
What are you doing for your mental health?:
Meal planning healthy meals and eating them! I have been slowing down in general. Doing things without music or the TV on, embracing quiet.
What mindfulness practices are you doing?:
I listen to Eckhart Tolle audio books, focus on things I appreciate, I'm also working on letting go of judgment and excessive, repeative thoughts.
Do you have any questions for the board?: Nope. Just hope everyone has a great Mother's Day weekend!!!

being kind to myself. I’ve worked very hard all my life to stay in shape and although I’ve only gained 2 pounds so far my body is already drastically changing and sometimes that’s hard!

im still weighing between buying the bump method prenatal Pilates or Hannah bowers healthy mama healthy baby’s guide! Anyone wanna do one with me? I’m leaning towards the bump method because it’s one video a week to ADD to your routine and helps with diastasis recut, birth, and post partum!
I’m trying to do my Peloton workouts more often/again. Today was the first day I have been able to workout since finding out I was pregnant. I’ve been dealing with awful nausea and horrible dizziness. I’m hoping to get back up to 4-5 times a week like I was pre pregnancy.
