April 2020 Egg Retrieval

We are tentatively planning on egg retrieval the week of April 6th depending on how ultrasounds and bloodwork are looking.  Is anyone else scheduled for around the same time?  How are you planning on passing the time?  We have three weeks of birth control and then two weeks of injections/ultrasounds/labs to get through before the egg retrieval.  It feels like such a long time!

    Mine will most likely be April 8th :) so we're super close!
    I have a suppression check on 03/25 and starting stims on 3/28. No BC beforehand, as I don't have natural cycles.
    Honestly, I'm not really even thinking about it yet. The plan is set, and I'll start worrying about it once I start injections  :)

    Our ER is scheduled for the week of April 13th. My bloodwork came back this past week and everything looks good. (FSH at 7.8, AMH at 4.88) Trying to get my medication in order. It is SO expensive! Any way, this will be our first retrieval and will be covered by my husband's work. (1 retrieval and two transfers.) Hoping this is it for us!

    FuzzyDust - I just finished my first IVF cycle and resting from ER today. I was nervous about the shots but pleasantly surprised the needle didn’t hurt. I iced the injections spot after each injection the applied Arnicare.

    You’ll do great!

    Kristenh05110 - it will go by fast! Just had my ET today. Something I did to pass time is continuing with my workout schedule (dancing, cardio, weightlifting). I also made sure I did activities to relax like mindfulness/meditation weekly. I also did acupuncture every other week then weekly during my injections.

    Oh injections... first day, it’s been forever since my last IVF, but I guess it’s like riding a bike, and it feels almost natural now 😄 150 menopure and 300 gonal-f daily. Let the roller coaster begin!

    Hi there, also stimming. Wishing you all the best :)  I'm On Lucrin daily. Was on Pergoveris and Clomid for a couple of days. Now on Menapur and Prednisone. Egg retrieval in two to three days time. 39yrs old, first ivf.

    Hi @lotusblossom13 ! Good luck with the retrieval, please let me know how that went!

    I went for a check up yesterday. All looks good, about 17 follies growing, 8mm leading one size. They said the retrieval will likely be at the end of next week. Next check up on Sunday (04/26) and I’ll probably start the cetrotide then too (to suppress ovulation).
    Ovaries so sore, and I already feel the hormonal wave starting to hit me 😬

    My 17 follies turned into 30+ only 2 days later  :# So I dropped the amount of stims and doing a longer protocol to bring the lead ones up without the rest of the company (I have a history of OHSS which I don't wan't to repeat).
    Today is last day of stims, I'll be triggering tomorrow and egg retrieval on Sunday! Fingers crossed I get some quality eggs and good fertilization/growing rate :neutral:

    just to update the threat. Got a call today about the fertilization. Out of 24 eggs retrieved, only half (12) were mature, and 8 fertilized successfully. So now on to 5 days wait to see how many make it for biopsy and freeze. Keeping fingers crossed! Last time we had 7 fertilized and 3 made it to freeze, so I'm keeping hopes up.

    Got another update today - we got 4 blasts that got biopsied and frozen!!! I'm so happy with these results so far  <3 Based on my age, statistically I'm hoping for at least 2 PGS normal - we'll find out in another 2 weeks. fingers crossed!

    @Fuzzydust that's amazing news. You are coming along so nicely. I wish you so much success. I got my preg test results today. BFN :'( Hubby and I held each other. I cried. It's the end of the journey for us now. In our country health insurance doesn't cover ivf and its bloody expensive. So I guess it's goodbye from me. I will check in and see how you are doing

    Just to update the final results for us - all 4 of our embryos turned out PGS normal (what???? that's a huge amazing surprise!) - 2 female and 2 male. We're going to take a break now, enjoy the summer, and come back for transfer in the fall.

    Those are incredible numbers!!! Are you doing an ERA as well?
    I am on day 5 of STIMs and currently have 11 follicles in the running. I was told to take Cetrotide today and have a follow up appt on Friday. Possible trigger on Saturday for retrieval next week. We are doing PGS testing this time since our previous cycle with 5 embryos did not produce a baby :(
    Hopefully the PGS + ERA will give us a baby in 2021!

    11 follicles on day 5 sounds pretty good so far! you're about half way there to retrieval! Hope all grow into beautiful healthy eggs 🤞
    I feel that PGS test gives some piece of mind, and a better hope. Like if it does take, you're way less likely to have a MC than with an untested embryo. Hoping you end up with plenty of PGS-normal embryos for future FETs!
    I'm not doing ERA, but my doctor wants to do a Hysteroscopy (instead of the usual Sonohysterogram) sometime in June, which scares me a little :# Considering that I had a sonohysterogram less than a year ago (and it was normal), I might be able to talk my way out of it, but we'll see :blush:

    Retrieval went really well! We got 31 eggs, 26 mature and had 18 fertilize. Now we just wait til Monday, Day 6 to see what goes off to PGS testing. 
    I have been in an incredible amount of pain since I've never had this many eggs before. Totally worth it, but man...makes day to day life a little rough. 
    Also, my doc doesn't think I need an ERA so hopefully will be transferring a healthy PGS embryo in July!
