  • EDD/How far along are you? 10 weeks 5 days

Age of other kid(s)? 3 years 4 months

What are the biggest differences you're noticing about this pregnancy compared to previous ones?
I was never nauseous with my son and I felt pretty sick for several weeks with this one. Also I’m feeling stretching pains and starting to show way earlier this time around!

    Questions?

GTKY - What's your favorite thing to do as a family? We are taking a lot of walks. We also find ourselves being a family of gamers sometimes. My husband on his Switch or PlayStation, me on my phone, and my son on his tablet. Hopefully someday we’ll be a family of travelers too 😊.
  • @jaclyn0405 I LOVE THAT!!!! Also yay for a girl ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰
  • @name1109 thanks love! It was literally SO fun! And yessss another girl, I’m over the moon! 🎀💕🎀
  • EDD/How far along are you? 12w3d

    Age of other kid(s)? 7 and 5

What are the biggest differences you're noticing about this pregnancy compared to previous ones? This is the worst one so far symptom-wise. I feel like I’ve had alllll the symptoms and they have been much more extreme.

Questions? Anyone else starting to really feel that kind of uncomfortable fullness and awareness of your belly? Like it just feels...heavy and stretched lol. I don’t remember feeling this way quite this early in precious pregnancies.

GTKY - What's your favorite thing to do as a family? We love going to the movies, going to eat at restaurants, going to the park and the zoo. Basically all the things we can’t do right now, lol. We’ve been playing in the back yard a lot, just to get out of the house.
  • @name1109 I’ve been trying to decide what to do! I want to do something small for them so we can announce it in a way that is exciting for them.
@baby-2-due definitely! I didn’t even start showing until like 18 weeks with my first.
  • EDD/How far along are you? 11/16- 12 weeks today!

    Age of other kid(s)? 2.5

What are the biggest differences you're noticing about this pregnancy compared to previous ones? It's actually been about the same if not maybe a little easier. I was really lucky and had an easy pregnancy with DS. I had an easy first trimester with him and then the rest of pregnancy was easy despite being uncomfortable near the end. this first trimester was even easier. I'm feeling so incredibly lucky. I've noticed my back has been hurting a lot more, though. Especially after a long day of running around.

Questions? Has anyone been team green with previous kids and then switched to finding out the gender? I'm really torn. We were team green with DS and it was so amazing finding out at birth. I had to convince DH to wait with him. This time DH is 100% on the team green train and I'm not sure. We've waited a while for this baby already and my patience is gone. Not to mention there is so much uncertainty in the world  right now. Do I really need anymore surprises? When I gave birth to DS our families were in the waiting room and DH was able to go out and announce it was a boy. If they arent allowed to be at the hospital then what am I supposed to do- tell them over the phone? Yuck.

GTKY - What's your favorite thing to do as a family? Play outside! This weekend it was finally beautiful outside and we had a blast finding worms, running around, playing in water, and cooking/eating our food outside. I'm so excited for summer!

+1 to showing earlier. I cant believe how much my lower belly is already protruding.
  • EDD/How far along are you? 13w5d

Age of other kid(s)? DS is 2

What are the biggest differences you're noticing about this pregnancy compared to previous ones? It's been a harder pregnancy in general (more nausea,  fatigue, constipation,  just feeling yucky), and I'm definitely showing sooner than last time! I've been reflecting on how much more real this pregnancy feels too, because I know so much better about what comes at the end. I'm not afraid of labor & delivery now, and I just can't wait to hold this baby in my arms. Not that I wasn't excited before, but because I know what to expect so I can be much more excited!

Questions? I'm starting to think about my registry - TTM+ what are key items you felt like you needed for adding an baby? We still have everything from DS, so I just need to add things that I'll need a second/new one of.

GTKY - What's your favorite thing to do as a family?  Read books, go for a walk to visit friends/family (when we could still do that).

  • @kitkatz1990 same with the symptoms! I have had terrible symptoms this time around and to the extreme!! Hang in there hopefully they start to subside! That’s what I’m counting on lol

Age of other kid(s)? DD turns 18mo on Saturday! 😍 and a 9yo SD

What are the biggest differences you're noticing about this pregnancy compared to previous ones?
Same as with DD but add in insomnia and a few random awful headaches plus MH says I'm "aggressively moody". I still can't we're having twins. Also more exhausted - chasing a toddler around is no joke.

    Questions?
Not a question just a statement - holy guacamole batman... How the hell am I gonna juggle a toddler and TWO newborns 😬😱

GTKY - What's your favorite thing to do as a family? Hiking, fishing, camping, movie nights

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts but seriously, what's up with thia insomnia?! With DS I slept so amazing most of the pregnancy except near the end when I was uncomfortable. This time I stay up so late because I cant sleep. I wonder if it's a mental thing because nighttime is the only time I get to ait down alone. Also, congrats on the twins! 2 babies sounds terrifying with a toddler but you can do it!
  • @dumbledoredies RIGHT?! I slept great aside from the waking up to pee thing with DD.  This time around I can fall asleep fairly easily, but then I'm waking up randomly throughout the night and will just lay there for about and hour or two before I can fall back asleep.  WTH?  I've been tracking my deep sleep on my smartwatch and it has been absolutely dismal.  No wonder I'm dragging.  Uffda babies... ease up on your mom otherwise you're gonna the children of a zombie.  Thank you!  2 plus a toddler is a terrifying concept, I'm being an ostrich about it and hoping that if I don't think too hard about it, it'll be okay.  Totally reasonable, right?  Especially considering if I go into labor early (very possible with multiples) I could end up with THREE under two, DD doesn't turn two until 11/9!

  • EDD/How far along are you? 11w5d

    Age of other kid(s)? 5

What are the biggest differences you're noticing about this pregnancy compared to previous ones?
Definitely worse this go round! With DD I was super nauseous but never threw up. This baby has made me thrown up a handful of times haha. Also, now when I throw up a pee a little, so that’s fun. 😒
@kitkatz1990 +1 for having a fuller feeling in my abdomen earlier on this go round! I remember being surprised with DD, feeling like I could still wear my jeans even in the second trimester. This go round I am already loathing jeans!

    Questions? None!

GTKY - What's your favorite thing to do as a family?
Traveling, even for small trips. We usually go to Orlando (two hour drive) many times a year. We love to travel to family - inlaws are a 4hr drive and my parents are in Buffalo, NY plus I have family in California and British Columbia as well as very very close friends in Ontario so we travel a lot. DD is such a good traveler! Seriously cannot wait for this virus to ease up so we can get back to traveling and making memories.
  • @name1109 I haven’t put much thought into sharing the sex with DD yet. She is 5 so I am definitely involving her in just about every aspect of this pregnancy that I reasonably can. Hoping to get some ideas on sharing the news in a super exciting way too!
@dumbledoredies I’m no help because we found out the sex with DD and plan to find out again. I am amazed with everyone who stays team green! That is self control on a level I am not capable of. Lol.
@lurvleybunchococonuts can’t say I blame you - bad headaches make me aggressively moody too! Lol.

  • EDD/How far along are you? 11+2

    Age of other kid(s)? DS1 almost 4 and DS2 18 months

What are the biggest differences you're noticing about this pregnancy compared to previous ones? I have similar symptoms as the other two but a few are much more severe (headaches & insomnia).

Questions? So I actually have a question about DS2 (behavior) that I was hoping to get some opinions on. So he really likes to rock back and forth (I think it's like a comfort, but also boredom thing) and while it isn't usually a problem he's started doing it in his crib and banging the back of his head on the crib rails. I have no idea what to do! We've tried rocking him first or going in when he does it to lay him down but that ends up turning into a game! I've been considering a weighted blanket, but based on most opinions he's too little for one. At this point I feel like I need other parent opinions in addition to our pediatrician.

GTKY - What's your favorite thing to do as a family? We like playing outside! (When the weather cooperates!) We have a playhouse/swing-set and trampoline in our backyard so there's plenty to do!

@dumbledoredies We were team green with our first 2 and it was awesome! We've decided to find out this time and while I'm excited to know early, I also feel like I'm cheating! One of the main reasons we've decided this is to help DS1, we both think that because he's older this time that we will be able to help him prepare for another sibling by knowing if it's a boy or girl. He already thinks the baby is a girl (and honestly with 2 boys already I kinda doubt it will be a girl) and I would rather have him be disappointed or excited before the baby is born.

@hedgepig I got some neutral long sleeve onesies, pants, and fleece sleepers because DS1 was born in May and DS2 was October. I also got a baby k'tan wrap carrier because I wanted a way to have both hands free to help DS while also being able to take care of the baby. I honestly think that was about it!

  • EDD/How far along are you?  due Nov 17, currently 12w6d

Age of other kid(s)?  21 months

What are the biggest differences you're noticing about this pregnancy compared to previous ones?  I'm having a hard time making it feel real. I was so excited the first time around that I spent my first trimester reading everything I could about pregnancy and babies, but this time, I'm like "eh." Learning the gender should help with the connection and visualizing an actual son or daughter will allow me to get excited about registry items, nursery decorations, etc.
and @baby-2-due and @kitkatz1990 I'm definitely "fuller" with much more of a bump, I just don't know if I can blame it all on baby or the quarantine snack stash that I have at my desk all day...

Questions?  @name1109 I think we're going to get a cupcake filled with blue or pink icing and have our daughter dive in. She didn't get super messy on her first bday, but I'm hoping she'll get into it, even if she doesn't know what it means!

GTKY - What's your favorite thing to do as a family?  Pre-COVID, we loved our trips to Disney. Now, it's lots of time on the swingset in the backyard or reading together before bedtime
  • Late to the May STM checkin party!
EDD/How far along are you?  due 11/12 15 weeks 4 Days

Age of other kid(s)?  DD - 15 mo

What are the biggest differences you're noticing about this pregnancy compared to previous ones?  I found this thread to share an article I just found after googling some first time symptoms. (Link at the bottom) Per DR. Google I’m experiencing some round ligament pain. It feel like I’m being kicked by a 1 year old in my uterus. WTH.  I was Nauseous at night with DD, but only threw up once. This time I’m throwing up a lot and nauseous all the time.  I thought I was done with it, but I guess not. I also have crazy acne this time. Thankfully I haven’t been as tired this go around or starving, with DD I could sleep for days and hungry for 2nds all the time!

Questions? Is anyone else having round ligament pains this time and didn’t in the first?

GTKY - What's your favorite thing to do as a family? We go to BBQ cookoffs all the time and compete. They have all been canceled, but they just got a green light to start them back up in Texas. Hopefully we are finally getting back to normal!

@dumbledoredies I think team green would be very exciting, but not if this covid is still affecting everything. My sister is team green and due any day. We were hoping to go and have it announced to us waiting in the hospital waiting room. Now, I guess we will get a call. This whole thing sucks, plus her SO is real douche!
If the kids were further apart in age I could also lean more towards team green. If I find out it’s a boy, I can de hoard!

  • @potofgolden yes on the round ligament pains! Didnt experience it with DS but it has been awful this time around. Ended up asking the doctor at my appointment earlier this week to make sure it was normal. He put me at ease - I hadnt mentioned which side bothered me most (left) and he said it was normal, and typically its felt more on the left side. Not sure if I should expect this the rest of the pregnancy, the round ligament paint and lower back pain are my dominating symptoms right now!
  • @kerriec93 yes round ligament pain, back spasms, and now the leg cramps are starting up at night. I’ve drank more water than I ever did with DD and I’m eating pickles like crazy, so I don’t know what’s up with the leg cramps.
