Re: Week 4+ (12/22-12/31) Check-In 4/26/2020

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/31 (4w3d)

    FTM/STM/STM+: Second Time Mom

    Team Green/Pink/Blue: No preference!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A teeny, tiny crumb from Cookie Monster’s Cookie 🍪

Upcoming appointments: Just finished processing my referral, so I can call the office tomorrow AM to set up my initial appointment!

How are you feeling?: Totally fine! Although DH made a delicious burger for dinner last night and halfway though I had to stop eating it because it was “too rich” for me. That never happens and I didn’t have morning sickness last pregnancy, so we’ll see if this time winds up being different!

Rants/Raves: Rave - Zooming with my lifelong best friend who is currently loving on the other side of the world in NZ to tell her I am pregnant again. I’m so excited!

Questions: None at the moment I guess..

GTKY: What is your favorite family recipe? My mom’s lasagna recipe turns out PERFECTLY every time, and even my husband (who is Italian and his whole family cooks/works in restaurants) says it is the best! I don’t make it often but will definitely make a few as freezer meals for postpartum!

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/16 6w3 or 4d

    FTM/STM/STM+: 4th time mom

    Team Green/Pink/Blue: No preference

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Baby is as tall as a Reese’s pb cup

Upcoming appointments: None until I can get my referral from my pcp

How are you feeling?: Meh. Lots of indigestion. The queasiness hits at night right now. I feel like with #3 my morning sickness didn’t fully hit until week 8 so I’m dreading this.

Rants/Raves: rant: Pregnancy during allergy season. Yuck.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite family recipe? I recently made my grandma’s chocolate sheet cake recipe that I haven’t had in like 20 years. I didn’t even realize that my older kids had never had it before and they loved it.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 4w 5d

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM, I have a 3.5 year old son

Team Green/Pink/Blue: green for now - but we’ll find out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: tomato seed!

Upcoming appointments: 5/21 is my first appointment - I’m excited to see the baby and get an ultrasound.

How are you feeling?: tired and cold!  My stomach has also been pretty rumbly lol.

Rants/Raves: I’m still kind of in shock that I’m pregnant.  My IUD was removed on 2/13 and I thought it would take a lot longer to get pregnant.  With DS we were trying for like 8 months.

    Questions: n/a

GTKY: What is your favorite family recipe?  My grandma’s pork spaghetti.  She always uses chunks of pork shoulder or pork loin instead of meatballs in spaghetti sauce - it’s so good!

Team Green/Pink/Blue: Team pink all the way. I want a little girl sooooo badly!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Size of a sesame seed.

Upcoming appointments: I don’t have my first ultrasound til June 1st. The wait is killing me :( I'm soo excited to see the  baby and have an U/S done. I hope June comes fast.

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling pretty good actually. Just a little bit tired and been having a lot of dull light cramping lately here and there for a bit and mild sore boobs but other then that alright. 👍

Rants/Raves: My allergy season is coming up in May-July so not looking forward to that cause I can’t take much while pregnant. I hope their not bad this year. FX.

    Questions: None at the moment.

GTKY: What is your favorite family recipe? My grandmas chicken noodle soup. Omg too die for. I miss it so much. Homemade noodles and everything. No makes it as good as she does.

@RookieAlert My DH made burgers for dinner last night too. I ate it all lol. It was so yummy.
  • @mindyb2019 I'm taking zyrtec. During my last pregnancy I also used nasonex and that was also fine. No need to suffer!
  • @willashbaby oh ok. I didn't know I can use those safely. Yay! Thank you. My Dr. Said I couldn't use nasal sprays and was only limited to like claritin which doesnt work for me at all.
  • @mindyb2019 nasal sprays like afrin are a no-no but maybe they didn't even think about the RX ones. If anything my previous OB preferred sprays since they don't go through your whole system. I'll be taking my Zyrtec till June and then I'll back off until I need them again in September. If I don't use them I'll def get a sinus infection. I'd rather do this than have major sinus headaches and then not be able to take advil/sudafed. Prevention over misery!
  • @mindyb2019 we're due the same day! I'm also a FTM and my first ultrasound won't be until June 3rd since they're trying to limit people being in their office. I'm so nervous and excited and just want an U/S to calm my nerves a bit. I hope the next few weeks go by quickly. Good luck to you!
  • @mee1537 wow were like the same person lol. Yay! Due date buddies. Your the first person so far that has the same date as me. Thanks. Good luck to you too. I'm also nervous and excited and would love an u/s just to calm my nerves a bit too. Till June is a long time to wait. :(
  • @mindyb2019 at least we're waiting together!
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/27 5 weeks + 1 Day

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue: Can’t wait to find out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: apple seed

Upcoming appointments: First appointment is May 19th

How are you feeling?: Today I am exhausted

Rants/Raves: I loved be pregnant with my first hoping for the same outcome with this little one (:

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite family recipe? My grandma fudge!
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: Dec 29th (4 weeks, 7 days)

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM, though second pregnancy

Team Green/Pink/Blue: Blue? I actually don't care one way or the other, would love either, but...
    **TW Loss**
...my last pregnancy was a girl, and I feel like it might be easier if it's a different gender this go-around.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Sesame seed

Upcoming appointments: May 22nd, first ultrasound

How are you feeling?: Generally fine. I get tired more easily, and kind of shaky when dehydrated (I'm terrible at drinking enough under normal circumstances, so it's hard), but overall I can't really complain. Had some minor pains last week, but those have gone away

    Rants/Raves:
Rave -- Got to do some light gardening this weekend (was super careful, though odds are I already had toxoplasmosis since I've had cats most of my life), which makes me happy
Rant -- there's a nonzero chance that I bought $100 of squirrel food

Questions: None right now. I'm honestly not really thinking about it much this time around...is that bad? I'm excited, but not as over-the-moon giddy & borderline obsessed with pregnancy as I was last time. It's more, "welp, guess I'm doing this again, let's see if it works out"

GTKY: What is your favorite family recipe? Holubtsi (stuffed cabbage) in tomato sauce. My grandmother taught me how to make it, and while I've made some minor adjustments to the recipe it's still largely the same.
  • @mindyb2019 Zyrtec and Flonase are fine. I asked my doctor about those specifically last time because I tend to get allergies in the fall and need the Flonase to breathe at night. Claritin does absolutely nothing for me
  • @akoros ya Claritin does absolutely nothing for me either. I hate it. I’ll have to ask my dr about the Zyrtec and Flonase. I’m feeling the same way as you are too. I’m excited about my pregnancy but not over the moon as last time like I should be. I know this sounds bad but I’m trying not to get too attached to this pregnancy in case it doesn’t work out again. It’s tough so I understand what your feeling.
  • @mindyb2019 same. I try to stay pretty unattached until I see a US. And then the next one, and the next. It get's a lot better for me once I can feel the baby. Of course nothing is ever a guarantee but at least at that point I don't feel like I'm just waiting to go to the doctor all the time.
  • @mindyb2019 Totally agree!
  • @willashbaby that makes total sense. I agree with that. It gets alot easier or better once you can feel something moving in there lol I just feel like I'm in limbo all the time with waiting for appts or to talk to the doctor.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 4 w  and a couple of days.

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue: Green for now, but my three year old is insisting its a girl

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: poppy seed!

Upcoming appointments: I just had my first blood draw today, so going back on Wednesday for the 48 hour follow up. Officially confirmed pregnancy- HCG are at 261.

How are you feeling?: Today I am feeling okay. Tired, but this weekend I felt kinda queasy and had some food aversion issues... Those seem to be a bit better today. Not true morning sickness (I had HG with my son) but definitely a little ick. I think it's the b6.

Rants/Raves: Rave - I have a TOUGH time finding a pre-natal I can safely take. Like... brutal. I'm allergic to carrots, so anything that has "vegetable sterate" I have to call, "Vitamin A as Beta-Carotene" is a no - go (it's usually derived from carrots since it cheaper than sweet potato) and "black carrot juice for color" is a nope. Like - I'm anaphylactic.
I found one I can safely take!!!!!!! It's made by Noor vitamins, and BONUS it has iron, (I'm constantly anemic) and double bonus - it has ginger and extra B6 to help with morning sickness. It hasn't made me ill at all.

Questions: did anyone have HCG draws yet? I'm trying to put into scope where mine fall. PGAL brain is killing me, and as much as I am trying to be optimistic, I'm stressing, lol.

GTKY: What is your favorite family recipe?
My mom makes the best quiche.

  • @the_road_to_oz I haven't had any HCG draws but would like some to calm my nerves. I'll be demanding them from my doctor tomorrow at our appt. Lol PGAL brain is killing me too girl. I feel ya. I'm trying to hard to keep postive but I just feel stressed out and have anxiety lol

  • @mindyb2019 I am so worried I am truly pregnant, but after finding out my tubes were blocked....
I had them opened in march, so it should be good... but you know.
@BmcD2016 Ugh, I had the worst morning sickness with my son. I'm dealing with kinda mild queasieness, and just feeling like. Yup. Here it comes.
    @akoros Isn't 4 weeks 7 days... 5 weeks?
@RookieAlert I think my family's lasagna is the worst. No cheese! Yuck! Just a little bit of mozzarella on top and some parm through it.

  • @the_road_to_oz if they were opened up you should be good. You got this mamma.
  • @the_road_to_oz  How do they taste/how is the after taste of them? Vitamins are disgusting and the after taste is even worse, pill or chewable. I’d love to find something that isn’t gross af.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:
    12.22 6wks

    FTM/STM/STM+:
    9, ages 1-16

    Team Green/Pink/Blue:
    team whatever.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:
    A sweet pea.

    Upcoming appointments:
    May 14

    How are you feeling?:
Terrible. Always sick, always tired. The usual.

    Rants/Raves:
I’m so over this online schooling. I have 7 kids in school and they all seem to have zoom meetings at the same time or one after the one. One Monday’s and Wednesday we have one every hour from 9am to 1pm. So done.

    Questions:
    Nope.

GTKY: What is your favorite family recipe?
Nothing that was passed down, sadly. I mostly just look at a bunch of recipes and come up with my own.

  • @helleebellee they taste a little sweet (they use caramel to color) and the after taste is ginger

  • @the_road_to_oz It's what the app said and I couldn't be bothered to count it out myself. I thought it sounded weird too, but figured that I'm too tired to think clearly. I'm 5 weeks today ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: Today I am 5w + 5d. Due date is Dec 24, although I havent had a scan yet for dating purposes.

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM...I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter

Team Green/Pink/Blue: I am team either! I already have a daughter so on one hand a son would be great, on the other hand I adore girls!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Baby is the side of an orange seed.

Upcoming appointments: My first appt is May 7, so about 9 days from now.

How are you feeling?: Honestly not great! I feel like I have a hangover...mildly nauseated all the time. Does anyone else feel bad at this early stage?

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions: Nausea-fighting tips anyone??

GTKY: What is your favorite family recipe? My mom makes a really good pasta with broccoli and she is a great baker too!

    Upcoming appointments: first u/s 5/20

How are you feeling?: Tired. Almost hoping for the not so great symptoms just to solidify that there’s actually a baby in there

Rants/Raves: I’m a little bummed not only about having another winter baby, but one so close to Christmas . We had planned on trying in a few months. The women in my family are just SUPER fertile. I was tracking my ovulation and just didn’t realize that my ovulation was happening 2 days after we DTD. Rant over. I’m thrilled about another baby. Everything happens for a reason and I’m super excited that the last 2 will be so close in age.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite family recipe?
My great grandmothers Whoopie pies. I never make them but pregnancy seems like a great excuse to whip out that ratty old index card
  • Does anyone else have symptoms that seem to come and go? Two days ago I was SO sick, and today I'm very functional. Even my boobs aren't super sore anymore.
