Re: Week 2 (11/08-11/14) Check-in w/o 20/04/20

  • Est Due Date/ Weeks + Days: 11/10, 11 weeks today 🥳

    FTM/STM/STM+: This baby #3 🥰

Team Green/Pink/Blue: we were thinking of team green, but I don’t think I can stand it. We will probably find out.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Baby is the size of a hummingbird, macaroon or plum 💜

Upcoming Appointments: April 28 for phone panel appointment

How are you feeling?: Tired, STARVING and emotional. I cried over ice cream. 😑 Also, super bloated. I know showing sooner with subsequent pregnancies is normal, but I just feel blah.

Rants/Raves: We built a firepit in our backyard! Very simply, from cinder blocks, but it is so much fun! We’ve done marshmallows, s'mores and just talking. DH and I used to go on highschool camping trips together, so it’s like reliving it...only with 2 sweet babies laughing and playing in the background. 🥰

    Questions: Nothing right now.

GTKY:  What is your favorite flower? 🌺 Daisies and carnations. Our DD is named Daisy 🌼

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM!

    Team Green/Pink/Blue: Team finding out!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Baby is the size of a baby seat turtle shell, cardinal tetra fish, tootsie pop candy top  <3

Upcoming Appointments: Waiting to see if insurance approves NIPT or not. If not, I don't have anything on the books until a phone call appointment on 5/20!

How are you feeling?: Tired today even though I got plenty of sleep. Unmotivated too. I'm blaming the overcast and chilly weather. I'm excitedly waiting for a baby bump to start showing!

Rants/Raves: UGH! The update to the bump app! Took me FOREVER to find where they moved community too. I honestly only use this app for the community because I like another app for baby updates and such, so this really frustrated me.

Questions: What are people's thoughts on a doula? I'm being cared for by the midwife team at my hospital. I brought a doula up to DH last night, and he seemed very against the idea. It's our first, and I guess I'm nervous he won't know how to support me through everything/will jump on the idea of medication even though I want to try my hardest to go unmedicated.

GTKY:  What is your favorite flower? 🌺 If I'm being honest, I don't like flowers in the sense of "get me flowers as a present" BUT if I have to choose the prettiest - carnations or forget-me-nots.

I filled out this whole thing then realized this isn’t my week 🤦‍♀️ Sorry!
  • @lovelee3 same with the bump app. 😡😡
  • Est Due Date/ Weeks + Days: Nov 12/10w6d

    FTM/STM/STM+: 3rd time mom!

    Team Green/Pink/Blue: Finding out!

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: I’ll go with the 11 week size since I’ll be 11 weeks tomorrow...plum. That seems huge!! Wasn’t it just a sesame seed???

    Upcoming Appointments: May 11

How are you feeling?: SO terrible still!! The last two days I really didn’t eat anything all day until dinner, and yesterday I could tell it was affecting me because my blood sugar dropped big time and I felt horrible! I’ve had no energy to even get up and fix myself anything to eat, it’s been horrible. DH went to the store on the way home from work this morning and got me some quick, easy grab breakfast stuff so I can get something in my system first thing and I already feel so much better today after having a small breakfast. I’ll be happy to move into the 2nd trimester.

Rants/Raves: This time at home has been great to work on some life skills with my kiddos. They can each now make their own PB&J, my 7-year-old is able to make a bowl of cereal for him and his sister, and pour his own juice, and my 5-year-old is able to shower almost independently. It will be great to have some self-sufficiency in them when the baby gets here! I’m very proud of them.

Questions: See I know I had a question last night and now I can remember! I may come back and edit this later if it comes back to me.

GTKY:  What is your favorite flower? 🌺
Calla lily 😍 I love flowers but I’m not great at keeping them alive, lol.
  • @lovelee3 my thoughts on a doula are if you want one, you should have one! All due respect to YH, he’s not the one giving birth so his opinion on the matter is null and void lol. Unless maybe he is wanting to be that person for you? In which case he needs to get to studying lol.

@1MommyRunner we have a fire pit in our back yard too, and I LOVE it! So much fun.
  • Est Due Date/ Weeks + Days: 11/9

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue: I suspect blue but we’ll see

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of:

    Upcoming Appointments: 5/20

    How are you feeling?: exhausted

Rants/Raves: it took me forever to find community in the app too!!! 😂

    Questions: none right now

GTKY:  What is your favorite flower? Wildflowers!

@lovelee3 I had a doula for DD and it was a waste of money because my husband was the bomb. Also labor and delivery nurses are usually phenomenal. You get the nurses A team until the baby comes out, then you get the nurses C team and they suck but the doulas usually peace out after the baby is there anyways so if it’s postpartum you want maybe but If your hubby is planning on going all out to support you and really learning how to do that and about pregnancy, my experience was that the doula was not helpful.

Team Green/Pink/Blue: Team finding out, but I’m not sure if we are waiting until week 20

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: Baby is the size of a baby sea turtle shell, strawberry 🍓

    Upcoming Appointments: 5/5 💃🏻🌶🌮

How are you feeling?: Tired & Unmotivated!

Rants/Raves: I think I’m ready to go back to the office.. working from home takes 12 hours to get in an 8 hour billable day 😩 I am enjoying the sweatpants though.... which also freaks me out that when we do go back to work... it will be a shocker normal clothes won’t fit.

    Questions: None right now.

GTKY:  What is your favorite flower? Magnolias and BlueBonnets!

@lovelee3  Thoughts on a doula, I never thought about having one and never really heard of one until recently. My husbands my rock and helped deliver DD, so Maybe he is my doula 😂. If he is unable to be there because of this covivid nonsense I will have a nervous breakdown. ... and I want the meds!

@1mommyrunner fire pits remind me of crown and coke yumminess. Oh how I would love to partake in all this quarantine day drinking! 😁
  • Est Due Date/ Weeks + Days: 11 weeks and a few days

    FTM/STM/STM+: first time!

Team Green/Pink/Blue: I don’t want to find out.

Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is size of: a fig

    Upcoming Appointments: Saturday morning

How are you feeling?: Great! Last night was the first night in weeks where I got ~6 hours of sleep. Plus, the nausea has pretty much gone away.

Rants/Raves: I am REALLY enjoying food these days. Drove 45 minutes to a brewery for a specific sandwich the other day. When the guy told me they were only selling beer I almost became violent. Not really, but I was severely disappointed.

Questions: How much money would I have spent already if stores were open?

GTKY:  What is your favorite flower? Zinnias!
  • @csardaszz I know I’m saving a ton, by staying home. Plus DH has been doing all the grocery shopping and we do separate checking😈. I’m ready to splurge when it’s all over.
  • Sorry I’m late on my replies everyone! This week has been busy! We closed on our first home and have been excited about getting into it!
@kitkatz1990 🤣 that’s how I see it as well, but if having a doula is going to make him feel pushed aside then I don’t wanna do it.
@govanalyst86 honestly this is where I’m struggling. My best friend LOVED her L&D team, so she felt super supported the entire time. Ugh, it’s so hard to know though. I guess I just need to have a serious talk with DH to see if he’s gonna want to try to step up or not.
@potofgolden first, if COVID is still a thing that’s controlling our lives when we give birth, I’m going to lose it! I want my family to be able to come visit!!! Also, I love that YH was awesome! Mine seems to freaked out, but he might surprise me when the day comes 😂

@csardaszz I know I am for sure saving money!

  • @lovelee3 I highly recommend Penny Simkin's "The Birth Partner" for you and YH, especially if you're interested in going unmedicated. It will give YH a sense of what he would to expect/do during a labor, and what a doula would do.
