What number are you trying for? #3

    Month/Cycle? 12/11? 10? Forget ATM

WTO/TWW? TWW but benched this cycle

    Ages of other child(ren)? 6, 3

Any thoughts about this cycle? Benched, had a CP last cycle and with the current craziness in my area (NYC metro) just wanted to wait a minute.

Any questions? Any one else WFH and home schooling with a preschooler? How are you doing it? We seem to be settling into a routine a month in but I feel like I'm always falling short in every area lol.

Rant/Rave? We got a grocery pick up today and I feel like we have so much food now!! We've been stocking up on "easy" food in case we both get sick at the same time and need to still feed our kids. Also kind of freaking out about what happens if we do both get sick, we don't have any one around that would step in with our kids so hoping if/when we get to that stage it's mild enough we can function.

GTKY: How are you keeping yourself motivated as we move into spring?

Well the only time I get to myself is when I'm out running so I've been exercising a lot. Being outside and moving helps my mental state sooo much and helps keep me moving forward.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Actually.... feeling hopeful. FX!
    Any questions?
Rant/Rave? Working from home with a very active little dude, who is trapped inside since the weather is terrible. I feel like I have gotten nothing done today.

@_orchid_ FFMC? I just pulled him from Pre-k. Like... actually unenrolled. My plan is to have him repeat pre-k3 if he needs it. He only makes the cutoff by a two weeks, so we had been toying with redshirting anyway.
So. I am coping with it by... not.

@the_road_to_oz that's coping with it! My 3 yo is entertaining himself with toys so I'm not really doing too many educational activities with him.

No FFMC with redshirting! ODS missed his school's K cutoff by days, and the year he was 4 we got a lottt of unsolicited advice about what to do about it. He's the oldest in his class and I feel like his emotional maturity that he gained in that year really helped his transition. OTOH, his K bff is like your son and 2 weeks before the cutoff (so youngest in the class) and he's transitioned very well too, so 🤷🏼‍♀️.

No advice, just commiseration! When he would start K was a topic of frequent conversation his whole life (my EDD with him was the cutoff date so EVERYONE had something to say about it)

@_orchid_ To make things even more complex in my state it varies by town - so if we moved in state the cutoff might be up to three months later.
I am a July baby, and I definitely felt being almost a year younger.

@the_road_to_oz oh man! Wow that is a big range. So interesting - I always thought it was a state decision.

@_orchid_ So sorry about your loss. Take as much time as you need. I'm doing grad school from home and I'm homeschooling my kindergartener. We have somewhat of a routine, but things change day to day. Just do the best you can and don't feel guilty if you can't do it all.
@the_road_to_oz Fingers crossed so hard for you this cycle! I hope the weather this week has gotten better and you've been able to get out.
Both of my littles are summer babies and we didn't redshirt my oldest so he is the youngest in his class. We might redshirt my youngest because of his medical needs, but we'll see as we get a bit closer.

What number are you trying for? 3
    Month/Cycle? 5/5 (3 unbenched)
WTO/TWW? Pretty sure I'm in the TWW but I haven't gotten an accurate temp in the last couple of days because I apparently don't know how to sleep like a normal person.
    Ages of other child(ren)? 1.5, 5.5
Any thoughts about this cycle? If I am in the TWW I had pretty good timing. We'll see.
    Any questions? Nope
Rant/Rave? I got my drafts of my term papers in and we're now in midterms week. I've been super on top of my assignments and I'm getting my work for my drug and alcohol counseling class done which is awesome. I do have some choice words for whoever made the decision to put the start date for a continuing education course at the same time as midterm exams but such is life. I also realized when looking at my course calendar today that I don't get a break between spring and summer terms. End date for spring term is 5/30 and the start date for summer is 6/1. I'm pretty unhappy about that.
GTKY: How are you keeping yourself motivated as we move into spring? Hahahaha I kind of find it hilarious that I came up with a question I don't have a good answer for. Sheer willpower, I guess?

@_orchid_ being in or around NYC would be so surreal right now. A mom from my first BMB lives in NYC with twins! There is no schooling happening here but just sticking with a routine and switching off who is with DS and who is working has helped immensely.
@the_road_to_oz we also have a very active little guy! His early intervention specialist said he is "sensory seeking" I'm pretty sure his $500 stimulus has already been spent on stuff to keep him happy and entertained at home. The real winner is his Nugget Comfort play couch but they are shut down right now so not shipping any orders.
@ashaislurking I think it makes perfect sense to post a GTKY that you don't have an answer for, you can get some new ideas from everyone else! That sounds like a crazy schedule!

What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 5/5

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? He will be 2 in a month and a half 😭

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not good. You're always normal until you're not, right?

Any questions? I need to start temping if this cycle doesn't work out. Any tips for temping with a toddler that wakes up anytime between 3:30-6 am?

Rant/Rave? I am really looking forward to getting back to something that resembles normal. I am currently feeling like I am not doing enough in basically every aspect of my life. Not doing enough to get pregnant, not doing enough parenting, not doing enough work, not doing enough house work. We have gotten into a good routine with both myself and MH WFH with the toddler but it's really freaking hard!

GTKY: How are you keeping yourself motivated as we move into spring? Spring? What is spring? I'm in MN and we got 6" of snow on Sunday and it's been pretty cold since. Staying motivated is something I need help with...

@krash_ there was a period of time that I used to temp at 2:30am every day then I'd just go back to sleep. This is a good option if you can go back to sleep once you've woken up. If you're NOT one of those people, my suggestion is to just temp as soon as you wake up every day and accept the fact that you might have some more fluctuations because the timing isn't perfect. You won't know until you start temping how your basal body temperature reacts after ovulation, but mine is significantly higher than pre-ovulation and slight fluctuations from the timing of the temperature don't make as big of a difference. Also, I'm in Iowa and we got about 6" of snow on Sunday here too. Spring isn't a season unless you will it to be one. I'm willing it to be one damnit! Good news, it's supposed to maybe warm up this weekend... maybe?
