This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. Diagnosis: MFI

Status: TWW

What are you doing this cycle: (Testing? Treatment?): NTNP.. but DH and I decided we will start trying again next cycle. It’s been 2 months since his surgery now so FX..

How are things going? Things are going well, although I found Easter really hard yesterday.. just so many triggers. Other than that, I’m coping well.. doing yoga for 20 minutes almost every day and re-reading my book Conquering Infertility (which I highly recommend!).

GTKY: Maybe Amazing Race? I love to travel! When I was in my teens, I really wanted to be on TLC’s What not to wear lol.. not sure if that counts. Just looked like so much fun getting a new wardrobe and makeover!

How are things going?: Fine, had a nice weekend with SO. We're doing some kind of HITT workout video together tonight so that should be fun (and not fun!).

@misshelen86 FX that YH's surgery did the trick! I'm sorry Easter was such a trigger for you. I for one was happy to avoid church, but agree that social media didn't really help too much.

@whitealbum29 I'm sorry about your IUI. It's nice that you and YH can work out together. I always enjoy having a buddy!

How are things going?: I am almost a week late at this point. I've taken several tests, and all are BFNs. Maybe it's the stress of all the changes? I'm frustrated with my body, but it's not like I'm missing out on treatment or anything, so it's alright.

GTKY: If you were going to be on a reality TV show, which one would it be and why? I agree with @misshelen86 The Amazing Race. I love to travel and am willing to try most things, so I think it would be fun.

Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained IF and RPL

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW. I can test now but I am too scared. Since I've been SS I know I am just going to be disappointed.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): BBT, OPKs, checking CM

How are things going?: Since we couldn't see DH's family yesterday, we did a "virtual Easter dinner" and *TW* it just emphasized that DH and I are still without a LO an it sucked. Seriously. Everyone was dressed up and had their cameras set up to show them sitting around their tables with their kids and there we were, me in my yoga pants and him in a hoodie. It was like we weren't even there at times. It may have felt worse if we were all together in person, though, so there's that. If I am not KU by Thanksgiving, I may just excuse myself from the holidays because I can't take this anymore. End TW* Other than that, I really am doing OK. I just keep telling myself that every day is another day closer to the pandemic ending and restarting treatment. I ordered some yarn online and I can't wait for it to get here so I can start some new projects.

GTKY: If you were going to be on a reality TV show, which one would it be and why? One where they completely re-do my house because I don't like my house.

@emeraldduchess I'm so sorry that you had to deal with that Easter dinner. I think you're 100% justified in not wanting to go through that again, although I'm hoping for you that you are totally KU by Thanksgiving and it's a non-issue!

Diagnosis (if you've been): MFI

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): We're going to try naturally this cycle, just for my mental health. I can't feel like I'm not even having a chance, you know?

How are things going?: We got an email that as of last week our clinic is restarting FETs and some other services (no ERs etc.) since it's a freestanding surgical center and not part of a hospital. MH asked me to call and get us started back up in a cycle, since this thing does not look like it's going away anytime soon, we're both in the house for the forseeable future and can self isolate. I spoke to the nurse, and was told that they're only starting medicated cycles back up, not natural, since that way they can control the cycle. Either way, however, we need to have a teleheath appt with our RE because we technically cancelled mid-cycle last time so we need a new treatment plan on the books. We have a phone call with her tomorrow.

@shoogapoff thank you. It's been hell the last two Thanksgivings/Christmases. Ironically, if I DID get KU this cycle, my EDD would be December 23, so we wouldn't be seeing anyone for Christmas. I am so sorry for all the BFNs and frustration. There's nothing worse than your body being a witch all of a sudden. I really hope your ute gets its act together soon.

@mvt2003 that stinks that you get that email but found out they're not doing natural cycles.

I hope that your tele-appointment goes well and it helps you feel more in control during this crazy-out-of-control situation that we're finding ourselves in.

@whitealbum29 enjoy your workout! It's been crappy not going to the gym. I found a few YouTube workouts but nothing I really like to do on rainy days when I can't walk. So free weights and planks, it is.

@misshelen86 I'm sorry you had a lousy Easter. You can come sit with me on the "holidays suck right now" bus.

I agree, so many triggers. I'm glad your DH is doing well and you can go back to trying next month! FX his surgery helped!!

Diagnosis (if you've been): Blocked tube, unknown secondary infertility

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): We were supposed to start clomid, but the doctor never (still) got back to me. So I started a few supplements, we'll see if that helps.

How are things going?: Things are okay. Weather is disgusting here. It warmer, but so wet and windy. I randomly have a really good feeling about this month, so we'll see. It's always more of a letdown when you *think* this is the month, rather than being a pessimist though, lol.

GTKY: If you were going to be on a reality TV show, which one would it be and why? Ugh. Honestly - probably hoarders. And it would be because I called it on my husband. He is SUCH a clutter bug. I opened our shed to get out my bike, and it was PACKED with things we were supposed to be getting rid of. His nordic trac he has used once in the six years I have known him... a bunch of size M and size 29 mens shirts / jeans. My husband is a size 42 in pants and a XXL. Darling.... let your highschool things go, accept they will never fit again. And if you happen to lose a hundred plus pounds... I will buy you new clothing. Promise.

@misshelen86 Our easter was depressing. We tried to do a virtual dinner and it was just... not the same.
@emeraldduchess Our only buyers remorse is the lack of storage! Which isn't so much an issue for me.... but see above. I tend to be a little more "Love it and display it, need it and use it, or lose it." - Hubs is "But I really NEED this unopened radio shack cord to an electronic I don't own!"
@mvt2003 That's great news! We are in a bit of a hot spot, and under full stay at home orders, so I am sure we'll be longer.

@the_road_to_oz we plan on doing the genetic screening on our embryos (highly recommended by our RE due to my history of loss and our ages). I definitely look at the stimulus check as "how many embryos will that cover?". It used to be "how many car/student loan payments". Now I look at all money in terms of how many embryos we could test. The things IF does to you.

@the_road_to_oz Oh no! I'm so sorry your RE hasn't gotten back to you! Especially since you got a bill from them! I feel like my dr's office is similar, in that, they're very timely with things that involve them getting money and not always so timely about addressing my concerns.

How are things going?: not so well... I think we tried too hard and now I have mild UTI. I haven’t messages my doctor for antibiotics yet... just been drinking a lot of water and hope it will go away on its own. This morning I was wake up to a terrible mid-lower back pain. I immediately messaged my doctor and ask if it could be caused by ectopic pregnancy. He said 9/10 dpo is too early for ectopic pregnancy to cause pain, which comforts me a lot! I guess I just twisted my back while sleeping.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): HIO EOD, OPKS, and vitamins

How are things going?: I got a text from my RE finally, first I have heard from her since I sent the negative HPT text over a month ago. Last Thurs she said the clinic should be back open in 2 weeks, then she called on Saturday and said strike that, looks like middle of May. They are only doing ER for cancer patients. I completely understand needing to keep everyone safe and healthy, just wish there was a way to keep doing tests or something. I used my last HPT last week, it might have been super early because I am not sure when I ovulated this cycle, so now I am waiting for AF or Amazon delivery, whichever one comes first.

GTKY: If you were going to be on a reality TV show, which one would it be and why? I always liked the thought of going on Amazing Race because I love to travel, but I never liked how much they portray all the couples fighting. These days it would probably be a home reno show or love it or list it. Especially if I didn't have to pay $$.

@pom9207 Ah I feel you with the back pain! Hope you feel better soon. And try cranberry juice for the UTI if you can get some, but like others have said, don't wait too long if you don't see improvement.

@the_road_to_oz I hope your optimism isn't disappointed this month! And blasted for stupid bills that keep coming when everything else is shutdown!

@mvt2003 At least the clinic is starting some treatments backup, hopefully that means they will be fully open sooner than later, but so disappointing to get that email and then be back to waiting.

@misshelen86 yay for getting back into it! I'm also a fan of makeover shows. I'm always curious what their opinion of my wardrobe or look would be.

@whitealbum29 I'd love even just a room makeover in my house too! Especially if the show pays for it 😅

@shoogapoff were you tracking ovulation to see if that got delayed?

@emeraldduchess buyers remorse with your house?? oh no!! I do sometimes too, but that's because I see all the money we'll need to spend to fix things, or even just update style.

@mvt2003 would you possibly entertain a medicated FET? At the same time that's more expensive having to buy the meds...

@the_road_to_oz my FIL needs to be on hoarders. At their old house, their garage housed his old Camaro that had so much junk on top of it, a motorcycle that I didn't even know existed until they built their new house a few years into DH and I dating, and just tools and machines galore. There was a small path to walk through from the garage door to a back door to the backyard. Just oh my goodness. There was a show called Clean House that I would have loved to be on because it helps people get rid of so much junk, they sell some of it in a yard sale and then use that money to remodel some of the rooms. Sort of a lesser shocking version of Hoarders. Hope things get less windy and wet for you soon. We had a pretty crummy Easter weekend with rain and cold temperatures.

@pom9207 I think I've sometimes had that lower back pain with a UTI. The Azo stuff works really well at relieving the urgency to pee if you have that.

@ramzlau I have a love/hate relationship with Love It or List It. Such a good show, but sometimes you look at these people like omg why did you decide to stay??? And sometimes the host's banter is a little obnoxious.

Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained, low morphology

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO still

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): natural HIO for a few months before going back for FET #2

How are things going?: meh, OPKs are still light as hell. Just enjoying time at home with DH. Now if only we could get into a habit of working on things in the house. We updated our lights in the room we're working from home in, and now the reno bug has bit me a bit and I want to buy more things for more house updates.

GTKY: If you were going to be on a reality TV show, which one would it be and why? I'd love a home reno show since our house is 50 years old so there's lots of old things or just really awkward aspects of the house. Also our landscaping could use an update. This is what happens when the previous owner basically doesn't live here for 3 years before selling the house so the weeds are obnoxious. I used to have to deal with 3ft tall THISTLE WEEDS yuck. If I had the muscle I'd totally do American Ninja Warrior with @pom9207

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW but really just WFAF now.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): NTNPish with Letrozole (5mg) and Progesteone.

How are things going?: Even though this was supposed to be a more relaxed cycle, I had still gotten my hopes up slightly. Was brought back to reality with a BFN this morning. 😒 Had a good cry to DH...I know this process is wearing so much on both of us, but he has been and continues to be my rock! On to the next cycle I guess...we need to discuss if we are going to try another relaxed cycle or what (I’d say we’ll probably do the relaxed approach with meds still). I’m really hoping we can start IUI after that though!

How are things going?: Pretty good except I've had these little headaches every day for over a week now as well as lower back pain... I'm not sure if it's how I've been sleeping or the chair I've been sitting it but it's annoying! Other than that things are going good! We had a lovely Easter and this past Saturday night we had a big zoom call with my family.... we all usually get together on Easter Saturday so we did a zoom gathering instead this year! It was fun to see everyone

Hey friends! It’s been a hectic week, gonna try to get involved & caught up today. Hope everyone is doing well!💗

Diagnosis (if you've been): RPL,
Elevated NK cells & activity, blood-clotting disorders, AMA

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Going to try Letrozole again. No idea when we might get to move forward with egg retrieval or IVF so this is the best we can do right now. I have another birthday next month so really feeling the time...

How are things going?: Fine. I’m super focused on a very intense work project that is due soon, so it’s great to have that distraction.

Any questions?: Has anyone had an extremely heavy flow after Letrozole? That’s my current situation, not sure why it’s so heavy.

GTKY: If you were going to be on a reality TV show, which one would it be and why? Amazing Race with my brother, who is super mellow, adventurous, but also a nice level of competitive. I enjoy puzzles & am crazy competitive, so I think we’d be a good combo & have a lot of fun.

@misshelen86 So sorry Easter was hard for you. Yoga every day is great! I've been doing hour-long classes a couple times a week but if I were doing shorter sessions I would probably be able to commit to every day like you have! It totally seemed to change my overall mood when I used to be more committed.
@shoogapoff Sorry your body is being confusing and frustrating! Ugh.
@emeraldduchess I'm so sorry about Easter. I hope it's a non-issue for you when the holidays roll around! SO found this video series called BodyFit by Amy on Youtube that he likes and I joined him (although TW, I think a lot of her stuff is geared toward postpartum...I don't think she said anything about it in the cardio video we did though. [and no, couldn't tell ya why my guy is doing postpartum workouts, LOL]). But yeah just doing planks on your own is great for you too!
@mvt2003 That's great that the clinic is starting up again, hopefully you can get a plan in place for soon! I wish that it meant this whole thing was going away soon but clearly not. Anyway good news for you!

I usually have fairly light periods following Letrozole...but I think that has just become my normal. Did you do progesterone too? Maybe that contributed to the heavier flow more if so. Sorry you are dealing with a really heavy one, regardless!

@kpearse99 DH is feeling pretty good but there’s still a lot of things he’s not up to doing yet.. he can’t work out other than walking and short yoga classes. He has some discomfort from time to time. Hoping that he feels back to his usual self soon! Glad you had a good Easter. I hope you feel better soon.

@keikilove Glad that you are able to try again with letrozole. I have a birthday next month too and not really looking forward to it. Glad you have the work project to focus on!

@whitealbum29 I feel so much more relaxed when I stick to doing yoga every day. I’m noticing a decrease in muscle tension as well, which is great since I can’t get a massage any time soon!

Update: I just got a phone call from my fertility clinic and we’ll be doing a phone appointment with my Dr on Monday.. I guess just to discuss our plan from here.

@bluetickgal we still need to finish a few things in our small bathroom that has been a work in progress since August. Other than that we'll probably upgrade the lighting in our laundry room. It's that old fluorescent tube lighting with a grid ceiling and we found these fantastic LED ones that have made the light so much better for our work room that has our desks. Are you able to do an IUI at this point or does it have to be just meds with the state of the world right now? Either way, GL!

@kpearse99 cooking/baking competition shows are definitely one of my favorites! I'd probably be on Nailed It. I'm not a horrible baker by any means, but making that fancy Pinterest stuff, yeah I'd probably fail.

@keikilove if only I were more fit for Ninja Warrior! I barely get through 20 minutes of flow yoga! lol

@misshelen86 hope your call next week goes well! It's crazy how we're already at the middle of the month and cycles may be starting back up soon for us!

If you haven't been following me in the WTO daily today, my OPKs went from almost nothing on Tuesday to positive today! How the heck does that happen so fast! I remember doing OPKs twice a day for a few days before they would turn to a true positive and now it's a matter of 48 hours?? Thank God DH and I DTD late Tuesday night to start us off!

@inthewoods23 that’ll be nice to get the bathroom complete! Sounds good on the lights...that’s good you already found some you like too! We have bright white lights in our laundry room, and I love them in there...just seems so appropriate for that space! Yay for positive OPK and already getting some timing in!! I had honestly just assumed that IUI would be out this cycle too (although we cancelled the last one, I think I it would have been anyways), but it might not hurt to call and ask once AF arrives! I’m not sure how I feel about going to the hospital for monitoring & IUI right now though, so we may just stick with meds only for another cycle regardless. Definitely something to think/talk about if it is an option though!

Well, I just sounded like a total moron on the voicemail I left at my RE's office. They told me to update them on my next CD1 (which is today...wompwomp) so they could update their records. I wanted to add a thank you in appreciation for all they do as nurses and it came out "uh, thanks for...everything...I'll talk to you later". WTH am I such an awkward weirdo?

@pom9207 ugh, I hope that UTI goes away soon!
@keikilove glad you have the work project to distract you. FX the Letrozole does what it is supposed to this cycle!
@ramzlau so many hugs to you, friend. I don't think any of us realized just how much and for how long this pandemic would affect IF treatments. Hope those tests arrive soon. That reminds me that I need to order OPKs today.
@inthewoods23 woohoo for a +OPK!! That happens to me all the time. They're super-light for days and then BAM positive.
@bluetickgal I'm so sorry for the BFN, friend. So many hugs to you. Cry as much as you need to. This sucks so so so so much. I'm glad that your DH is so supportive.

@bluetickgal we're all about the bright white too! Both DH and I can't stand the warm white.

@emeraldduchess was it also a minute long voicemail? Because I seem to do that all the time and I'm always in my head like "omg why didn't I stop talking, they're never going to listen to a minute of my rambling 😳"

My OPK in the evening went straight back to negative. And I mean like super negative. Not even a close in color to the test line negative. And no temp bump this morning so idk! Maybe it was a false surge?? Going to keep testing once a day until there's a temp bump just to be safe.

@inthewoods23 yes, it probably was a rambling one, too. Oh well! They called back and I have to go back in for CD3 bloodwork. My labs from when I first started treatment will expire at the end of May, so I have to go in tomorrow morning to get them done again.
