Re: Week 1 (11/1 - 11/7) Check In - Week of 4/14

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: November 3 / 10w6d

Baby is the size of a(n): strawberry / baby sea turtle shell

Upcoming Appointments: April 22nd for blood test for genetic screening and 1st trimester US + NT scan.

How are you feeling?: I feel good, I feel like I have a bit more energy, boobs are sore in the morning and then less as the day goes. I've been waking up early on my own though, I wish I slept more at night. I can't wait for the next US to confirm all is still well in there, still a little nervous.

Rants/Raves: We got confirmation that we are moving early June yay! Depending on the COVID situation then, not sure how much help we will be able to get though... At least we have a month from when we get the new place to when we have to leave our apartment.

    Questions:  None

GTKY: What's a movie (or three) that you can watch a million times and never get tired of?

    The Lion King
    Stepmom
    Grease

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: November 1st! 11w1d

Baby is the size of a(n): Lime (Bump) Poker Chip (Ovia)

Upcoming Appointments: Today! Standard physical, etc.  I am hoping to hopefully hear the heartbeat on the doppler though! And 4/23 NIPT + ultrasound/NT.  SO excited to find out the sex early!

How are you feeling?: I was doing really good and then the past couple of days the nausea has been bad...I haven't worked out since Thursday and feel terrible for it.  My symptoms with my DD were finished by 14w4d so I really hope that repeats itself or ends sooner! Fingers crossed!

Rants/Raves: I am excited for my appointment today! And it is my birthday on Thursday, cheers to 35!

    Questions: None at the moment.

GTKY: What's a movie (or three) that you can watch a million times and never get tired of?  The Devil Wears Prada...I just love it and have to watch it every time it is on TV lol.  I am sure I have a million more, but that comes to mind first LOL.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 10w5d

Baby is the size of a(n): kumquat/strawberry

Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday for NIPT, Friday to see the midwife

How are you feeling?: So much better! I had a couple of bad fatigue days last week (compounded by a toddler who wasn't sleeping well), but otherwise almost all of the first tri symptoms have faded. Nervous for my appts this week, and excited to tell the rest of our friends and fam!

Rants/Raves: My 2 yo is driving me crazy 🤪

GTKY: What's a movie (or three) that you can watch a million times and never get tired of? The Fifth Element, To Kill a Mockingbird, Love Actually, Demolition Man, The Princess Bride, basically anything Studio Ghibli, Its a Wonderful Life, more that I'm not thinking of....

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  11/2 + 11 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): Lime

Upcoming Appointments: May/phone call at 16 weeks.

How are you feeling?: Nausea seems to be slowly going away.  Insomnia is slowly going away. I’m still SO tired....definitely emotional though (thanks DH for being understanding).

Rants/Raves: Then add in emotions and quarantine...I don’t know about you but this isolation has been really hard. I think I break down about it either daily or every other day. We just moved here and I would so like to have baby/mom friends who want to grab a coffee.

Questions: How are you making new mom friends? I’ve started using the peanut app and researching lactation/baby wearing groups.

GTKY: What's a movie (or three) that you can watch a million times and never get tired of? Mr. and Mrs. Smith 🥰
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Nov. 7th, 10w 2d

Baby is the size of a(n): Chocolate truffle <3

Upcoming Appointments: April 29th for NIPT and NT scan

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, my bloating has gone down which is really nice. I have been less moody too, so glad! My poor husband haha. Still can't sleep well at all though.

Rants/Raves: Yesterday was my husbands birthday and even though we couldn't go do anything it was a really nice day just relaxing together. We had his favorite Chinese food delivered and spent the whole day just cuddled up binge watching TV. We both really enjoyed it!

    Questions: None at the moment.

GTKY: What's a movie (or three) that you can watch a million times and never get tired of? Oh man... I love the insidious movies, as well as the Halloween movies! We are big horror fans lol!

@mimser yay for moving! are you staying in the same area you are in now?

@jaclyn0405 hope you have/had a great appt today!! I am getting NIPT on the 29th and can't wait to find out the sex :)

@hedgepig that is awesome you have your NIPT this week!! And most of my bad first tri symptoms have gone away too, so glad.

@name1109 so funny, I have never heard anyone mention the Peanut app until you just did but I recently found it about a week ago. I like it so far! I joined this group on there called "Group of Kindness" where there is a list of everyones Amazon wishlists and people just gift each other. It is the coolest thing!
  • @bserena we will be moving 2km away so not exactly the same neighborhood, but it's still walking distance. We currently basically live in front of a farmers' market and are surrounded with nice coffee shops and restaurants so I will definitely miss that, but I'm trading this for a bigger home, a backyard... plus we'll be so close so we can still enjoy these things, especially in the summer
  • @bserena thanks love! I ended up getting a surprise ultrasound today that I posted on that thread, so that was fun! But the pain that I am having on the left side that I assumed was RLP my doctor doesn't think so.  She did the exam and the ultrasound and said nothing internally looked off, everything was perfect.  I did have blood in my urine so I may have a UTI that isn't presenting with any symptoms, who knows? I think I need to lay off the core exercises for a minute because I may have actually done it to myself.  I do core 5 days a week and that may not be the best idea anymore.
  • @mimser that area sounds amazing! I.love farmers markets and coffee so it sounds like heaven lol! I had to Google how far 2 km is 😂 but yeah definitely still walking distance! We are trying to get out of our apartment and into a home soon too, it'll be so nice to have a yard and more space. Excited for you:)

@jaclyn0405 I saw your u/s post! So awesome :) I. So glad everything looked great and hoping they can figure out the pain soon and that its nothing serious!
  • @mimser Congrats on the move! Your neighborhood sounds beautiful!
@jaclyn0405 Congrats on a good appt! It must be such relief!
@name1109 I'm sorry that the isolation is hitting you so hard. I'm an introvert and would be happy as can be at home if it were just me, but being cooped up with DS is starting to get to me. I also want to go see our mom friends and just go places. It's really hard, especially as we move in to... week 5? Sending support your way 💜
@bserena Glad to hear you're feeling better! I hope sleep gets easier soon...

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 11/5 10w+4

Baby is the size of a(n): Strawberry/Mini Cocktail Sausage

Upcoming Appointments: Friday 11/17 for NT + NIPT

How are you feeling?: Still pretty tired and nauseous most of the day, but maybe I have a little more energy? Not sure. Been getting some RPL which is normal, I know; but also keeps freaking me out. I'm mostly so bored - I spend the entire day laying around not doing much since we are still on lockdown (and will be for the foreseeable future). I miss my friends and family and being able to go outside without fear. Most of all, I miss restaurants and am DYING for an everything bagel.

Rants/Raves: Finally got MH to watch Buffy with me - which he is enjoying. It's one of my all-time favorite TV shows, so it's fun to share it with him. Also, I've noticed a decrease in the volume of ambulances I've been hearing (I live near a major artery in Brooklyn, so we hear them all day) which is giving me hope that maybe we've turned a corner and will be on the other side of this pandemic at some point in the near-future.

Questions: What's the Nuchal Translucency u/s like? Is it usually done transvaginally, or abdominally? I heard somebody mention that the techs have to shake their uterus to get Baby to move position! How the heck do they do that?!?!

GTKY: What's a movie (or three) that you can watch a million times and never get tired of? Breakfast at Tiffany's (albeit, I have the racist portrayal from Mickey Rooney) is hands-down my very favorite movie. I also love, love My Neighbor Totoro, Clueless (don't judge), and Clue.

@mimser So nice you know you are definitely moving soon! I was chatting with a mover the other day in my building and he said people are still doing it and the moving companies are still working - so I guess that's good to know!

@jaclyn0405 Happy early birthday! Also, I saw your u/s - so great that your appointment went well and baby is doing great on the inside!

@hedgepig I think you and I also have a bunch in common (as well as our husbands, lol).

@name1109 What's the Peanut app? I've been looking for some quality pregnancy apps, but not sure what worth it!

@bserena Happy birthday to your husband! Honestly, just spending time together and hanging is such a nice way to spend a birthday!
  • @laurenmicheley I think we have a lot in common too! No judgement on Clueless - it's a great choice, and Totoro and Clue too! Also, maybe I already noticed this, but we're Friday appt buddies! As for NT scan, I didn't have one, b/c my doc said that it's basically redundant if you do NIPT (unless there's another reason to want to double check).

  • @laurenmicheley thanks love! And OMG Clueless is one of my favorite movies ever.  I quote it with my husband all the time, I also LIVED for Buffy growing up lol.  Also for the Nuchal Translucency test, I remember mine being transvaginally the 1st time because I have a retroverted uterus.  And yes, I did have to move around a lot so they could get the right pictures. She also pressed on my belly on different sides to get the baby to move. For some reason though I remember being further along last time and this time I have it next week.  Based on my u/s from yesterday, I am not sure how they are going to see what they need to see, I guess we will see.
  • @laurenmicheley the peanut app is a free app that helps connect moms. It’s swipe up to wave and potentially start a conversation and ultimately play dates/coffe/whatnot. It’s a way to meet other moms. For me, we moved a 10(?) hour flight from our last home so for me it helps make friends in new areas. The other app I’ve used in the past is meetup.com (site and app)...it’s a way to find stroller running moms, first time moms, play dates, book clubs etc. I’ve found that meetup.com is more active in larger cities.

    @mimser Thank you! :)

Feeling so, so nervous - MH isn't going to be allowed into the imaging suite with me so won't have him to keep me calm (I'm a naturally anxious NYer).

    @bserena @jaclyn0405 Thank you, both! <3
  • Just had my Nuchal Translucency and it went well. The doctor said I couldn't have had a better US! I'm so happy and kind of surprised because I'm always anticipating the worst. nPosting pics and whatnot on the Ultrasound thread.

  • I had a good appt and heard a good heartbeat, but my bp was measuring a little high, so she started me on baby aspirin and there's a possibility that I may have to be induced early and/or get extra monitoring. Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but hopefully not too bad either. I just hope it doesn't get any worse...

  • I had a renal ultrasound today as a follow-up to the blood in my urine on Monday.  Got to see the baby as a surprise since I normally can't see the baby this early abdominally because of my retroverted uterus, so yay for that! The impression from the radiologist said "mildly dilated extrarenal pelvis of the right kidney."  I have no idea what that really means, but Dr. Google seems to think it is common in 10% of the population and no need for alarm.  So for now I will just consider myself special lol.  I have a Telehealth appointment on Monday at 3:30pm to discuss the results with the urologist and fingers crossed it isn't anything.  I still believe the pain I am in to be exercise injury related, so I switched my program yesterday.  A brand new boxing program may not have been the smartest thing to start at 8 weeks pregnant, basically I am an idiot ugh!
  • @hedgepig Glad to hear that your appointment went ok. Hig BP isn't what you want to hear, but it's so common and manageable. Hope the baby aspirin helps!

@jaclyn0405 So glad you were able to see Baby! That's a great surprise! Hoping your teledoc goes well (though it does sound overall positive)!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 10/29 - 12w2d

Baby is the size of a(n): plum

Upcoming Appointments: first actual appointment on Tuesday (4/21)

How are you feeling?: finally starting to get some relief from the nausea! It's amazing. The exhaustion and heartburn are still hitting hard, though.

Rants/Raves: I am always so late posting on here! I am terrible at using message boards. I am trying to check in a post more so I can get to know everyone better :)

    Questions: N/A

GTKY: What's a movie (or three) that you can watch a million times and never get tired of?
Pride and Prejudice (Kiera Knightly or Colin Firth, love both), I love you man, Dirty Dancing, Dawn of the Dead. My husband and I love movies and have a huge digital collection, so it's always so hard for me to choose!
  • @jaclyn0405 happy late birthday! I just celebrated mine today! Everyone keeps saying how boring it must be to celebrate at home, but honestly I would have been home either way lol
  • @sjomomma right?! We would normally have gone out to dinner, which would have been stressful since DD doesn't leave my side OR she is up and running through the restaurant.  So honestly it was THE best birthday I have had in awhile.  I hope you had an amazing birthday as well! <3
