Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing & Treatment w/o 4/6

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

  • @misshelen86 Sending you <3 friend! If I remember correctly, you're an "essential" worker, so sending you all of the good health vibes right now.

@shoogapoff Same, constantly wondering how the world is going to end. :D

@whitealbum29 <3 Happy to see you, friend! Also, so many good wishes for you and SO! It's a nice thing to look forward to!! I also don't blame you for delaying IUI for now. Things are so uncertain, it's sad but probably for the best.

  • @the_road_to_oz Your feelings are completely valid. You are not a terrible person. This is a very tough time for any of us to go through—especially so for you with such a close milestone looming. I’m so sorry. It is so so hard. On a lighter note, as a fellow lover of British period dramas, your wish.com story made me laugh out loud.😄
  • @the_road_to_oz In one of my FB groups someone did a screenshot of a suggestion from Wish that they got. It was some weird like... thing to place over your man bits to relieve yourself. The picture next to that... I don't even know but it was another cover thing for men. That's about as graphic as I'd like to describe them lol

@keikilove that's what I was thinking at this point. The weeks just kind of go by and we're already getting close to calling it mid-April so who knows! The control line is still pretty dark, but I feel like waiting 3 days to test again might make me completely miss it. I certainly almost did back in October!

  • @inthewoods23 @whitealbum29 @keikilove It's all on the honor system - you basically just go for a 3.1 mile run on the appointed day. No timing or anything like that. I'll still use my Apple Watch, but no official time needs to be submitted. A lot of virtual 5ks offer medals etc. but since this one is a fundraiser, they're not really doing swag and I kind of prefer it that way for this one. They're accepting nominations for families that are in financial need that are currently doing one of the following things: IF treatment, adoption, or surrogacy.

Actually, if anyone is interested in the nomination process, the instagram account @therainbowrunaz has a link to the nominations.

  • @inthewoods23 If you're starting to see a line than I would switch to EOD for the OPKs now. I, personally, think it's A-OK for you to have little slip ups once in a while! Especially during these crazy times... anything goes, in my opinion! haha

@keikilove I'm glad you have a big project to keep you focused and your mind off other things. That should really help pass the time for sure!

@the_road_to_oz You are not a terrible person, one bit, for having those feelings. You're allowed to feel them. You are entitled to them. It's impossible not to think about those things, and I think you shouldn't push those thoughts away, but instead continue to let yourself feel them. Otherwise, they will always stay as resolved feelings.

@emeraldduchess yay for finding chicken!! I am still shocked that TP is still out at all the local stores around here too.... and paper towels. Like, HOW??!!! ugh! I hope this happy mood continues for you, friend!

  • Coming back for tags later!

    Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained

    Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): cancelled so trying on our own

How are things going?: Good! Our timing was perfect (-4,-3,-2,-1,0x2). I am currently 2DPO; I plan to test on 9DPO because I am impatient lol. My RE asked me to inform them when my next period comes so they can reinitiate my FET cycle, so I guess I will be less sad if this trying on our own cycle fails.

    Any questions?: natm

  • Will be back for tags, at least this week isn't as insane at work.

    Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained

    Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Like @mvt2003 going old school lol.

How are things going?: Okay, I am resolved to the situation. Relieved to not be going in for frequent visits to our RE where they often have lots of internationals, but bummed that it is just pushing this process out longer.

    Any questions?: Nope

GTKY: What is your favorite way to spend some "me time"? Reading a book!
  • @kpearse99 I think some people are still panic-buying/hoarding, but I know many people are buying for elderly or disabled family members so they don't have to worry about going out. Plus, it's something you WILL use! When I was at the store yesterday, I overheard a customer attempting to give his contact info to a one of the employees. He wanted to be called/emailed about when tp would be back in stock. Props to the employee, she calmly told him no, it doesn't work that way.
@whitealbum29 the shenanigans that our bodies pull sometimes is maddening!
  • @pom9207 That timing though!!! wow!!! I'm impressed and I applaud you! haha

@ramzlau It's okay and natural to be bummed but I am happy that you seem to be at peace with it now. Just breathe and let whatever happen, happen - because that's really all we can do in today's world right now!

@emeraldduchess I mean, to a degree, I get it. But even with the majority of things being "shut down" we are all still able to go out and get the essentials we need. I mean, we are still good on TP and PT for now, but eventually we will need it haha

  • @shoogapoff Hugs to you! I hear you on the wild emotions.. it’s definitely a roller coaster right now.

@whitealbum29 Sorry you’ve had to put your plans on hold but glad to hear you are at peace with it. That’s great news that you and SO are planning to get married  <3 It’s wonderful to have this to look forward to

@kpearse99 As always, I’m so impressed with your optimism and ability to see the positive in a crappy situation. Keep chugging along friend  <3

@inthewoods23 If you don’t have a gluten sensitivity I think it’s okay to slip up a bit on your diet! Glad that you aren’t noticing a difference with the vegan butter. With the OPK’s, I would stick with every other day until either the line starts getting darker or you notice changes in CM.

@keikilove Glad you have a project to keep you occupied right now. The SS is real... I started temp tracking again this month (to screen myself for a fever more than for ovulation purposes) and when it went up a bit, I went back and forth whether it was the virus or ovulation.. or just hot from DH and my weighted blanket.

@the_road_to_oz You aren’t a terrible person. You have every right to feel those feelings and they are SO justified. It’s frustrating to hear people complain about things, when we would give anything to be in their shoes. Hugs to you!

@emeraldduchess Woohoo to O’ing on your own! Your “me time” sounds very relaxing! Hope you get lots of that in over this TWW.

@pom9207 Yay for perfect timing! You get a gold star! Glad you have a backup plan with your RE but hoping you won’t need it!

@ramzlau It’s hard to have patience with this crazy situation we are all in. Hope you find lots of things you enjoy doing to keep yourself occupied and GL to you with going old school!

  • @bluetickgal So sorry about the empty due date. We'll be at 2 years too soon, in July and I can't just believe it. Like really?!
@emeraldduchess That's great that you have everything in place for IVF!! I hope it's just a couple months away!
  • @emeraldduchess it’s crazy how incredibly similar our journeys are! Sending hugs to you too! 💜 I hope we both get the heck out of here VERY soon! That is wonderful news about everything for IVF being in line (although I’m still holding out hope that you won’t need it)! I think that’s a great idea to keep the sex a surprise!!
@whitealbum29 thanks, friend! Ugh, I hate that so many of us have been at this for so long...I feel like our time has to be right around the corner! I’m rooting for a max exodus for all of us!
  • @abarr723 That's nice that your doctor gave you a phone appointment to check in! Glad you have a plan in place for when all this is over, fingers crossed it's soon!
  • @abarr723 welcome back! I was wondering where you were! I haven't been able to connect to the mobile site while at home, either. My insurance didn't require 3 IUIs either which surprised us, too.
  • @whitealbum29 It's very nice to have a plan! I felt lost when they canceled my last cycle. I am most definitely ready for this all to be over. But based on the meetings at work, it seems like this is only the beginning.  :s

@emeraldduchess Here I am! Yea the mobile site doesn't load at all, which is very frustrating. I am glad that she is giving us the freedom to choose, opposed to deciding for us. Maybe she feels bad that we got screwed, who knows lol
