if you are spreading out vaccines...

...what are you doing about the bundled ones?  We plan to spread DD's out based on the Sears alternative schedule, but I know it is sometimes hard to get the vaccines that are typically bundled as separate shots.  I will discuss with pedi at next week's appt (we have already told pedi our intention to spread them out, but this never came up), but was curious to see what others have done.

Re: if you are spreading out vaccines...

  • we asked our pedi to procure individual vaccines.  her practice isn't backed by any pharm company or anything so she will get what we request.

  • My pediatrician said they still had the ones that were split up.  The bundle ones are newer (at least the one they are offering at my practice) but my doctor said the 'old' ones will always still be available.

  • We had to call ahead to see if they had the HIB alone vaccine.  They said that they sometimes run out.  I would call to see if they have what you need in stock.  If not, reschedule to when they will.

I'm pretty sure ALL practices receive incentives from pharmaceutical companies; even those that use the old forms of vaccines. Most all come from the same top pharm companies anyway.

But to answer the OP, all pediatricians should have the individual vaccines. Just ask and if they don't have it, they can get it.
