Product Spotlight: Gliders/Rockers

And now we are all caught up!

This is a place for FTMs to ask questions about, S+TMs to share their prior experience with, and everyone to share what they're eyeing in the world of maternity, baby and postpartum products. Each week we'll spotlight a new category of product to help streamline and make it easier to refer back. This week we are discussing Gliders and Rockers.

Re: Product Spotlight: Gliders/Rockers

  • We splurged last time and got a dutalier from overstock. It’s a traditional style glider. I love the nursing stool and recline (wish it reclined a bit more but it’s ok). It’s been used regularly for almost 5 years and I’m looking forward to spending more time in it with this babe. This is not the color combo I have.

  • @WishesSheCouldCook that looks so nice! Do you like having the footrest? My feet don't touch the ground in most chairs so I had been thinking about getting one anyway for my home office.

I'm planning on getting the Babyletto Kiwi Power Recliner Glider: https://www.crateandbarrel.com/babyletto-kiwi-ivory-power-recliner-glider/s585126

I had the chance to test it out at Crate & Barrel and it was really comfy and reclined really far. It's pretty pricey, but I've got a "secret" registry at C&B so can use the 15% off completion discount on it. I set the registry up to get the discount for a few decor pieces I'm planning to buy on my own and I set the due date early so I actually already have the code and will probably buy it in the next week or two. I also like that it looks like something I can have in my living room once I no longer need it in the nursery, so that also helps justify that price.

  • @rivercitynik yes! This was actually a little ramp that pulls out from the ottoman so your feet are inclined pointing up. It really helped when I used a boppy pillow at the beginning because it lifts your legs. This one also had large nubs that you could rub your feet on for a massage.

  • @rivercitynik we have that recliner and absolutely love it. I think we got ours directly from the babyletto website. You can watch both places for sales.
  • @roo_baby thanks for sharing! I am so excited about it so great to hear that someone else had a good experience with it. I just bought this week using my 15% off coupon from C&B, but like so many other things it's backordered so it won't be here until approx. mid-May. I know that's plenty of time but excited to get everything set up :)
  • @rivercitynik now I really want that recliner but I’m hesitant to buy it without trying it 😂 and I don’t think I’ll get a chance to try it anytime soon with how things are right now
  • @fitandnerdy I totally get it! After buying a couch online once I swore I would only buy furniture I could test out in person. It's really hard right now to not be able to go to stores and look at things in person. For reference in case it's helpful, I'm 5"4 and found it fit me well with that back rest pillow and it reclines alllll the way back (almost flat). My son's dad is 6"4 and broad and tested it out and width wise it worked for him but I think he wished it was a touch deeper (but he's super tall so I would say 6"2 and under would be fine).
