Healthy Habits Check-In w/o 4.6

What habits, goals, or resolutions do you have for yourself this year? Or which goal(s) are you focusing on this week?

How's everything going?

What has you motivated or struggling this week?

What questions/help do you have/need to help you achieve your habits, goals, and resolutions?

What's a "small win" you have from last week?

Re: Healthy Habits Check-In w/o 4.6

  • What habits, goals, or resolutions do you have for yourself this year? Or which goal(s) are you focusing on this week? Original goal was to move my body 4-5 times per week. This week I’m focusing on losing 1-2 pounds.

How's everything going? Just fine. I’ve been dragging myself off the couch everyday to get a walk in, or sometimes two.

What has you motivated or struggling this week? All the time in the house has me feeling lazy. It’s been a struggle the last few days to force myself to get out.

What questions/help do you have/need to help you achieve your habits, goals, and resolutions? I really need MH to do some exercise w me. We were going to the gym together before this world chaos started. Now he hasn’t exercised in 3 weeks & all his hard work is going to mush.

What's a "small win" you have from last week? It’s another big win! I exercised all 7 days last week (even walked around my livingroom & kitchen for 30 minutes doing a figure-8 pattern while I watched trash TV one of the nights). So that makes 21 days in a row that I’ve been in stay-at-home mode and managed to keep my sanity through fitness!

  • @keikilove I feel you on the getting YH to move as well! But he’s been doing loadsssss around the house and yard so I can’t really say much 🤷🏻‍♀️ Well done exercising all 7 days last week!

What habits, goals, or resolutions do you have for yourself this year? Or which goal(s) are you focusing on this week? I wanted to lose 5lbs a month because I figured it was easy and simple enough but still making progress but that isn’t going so well to be honest.

How's everything going? I’ve started working out again this weekend after stopping because of my suspected COVID. I couldn’t even walk up the stairs (or even just lie in bed tbh) without losing my breath so exercise was out of the question lol and then I just got lazy 🤷🏻‍♀️

What has you motivated or struggling this week? Just want to get back on my goal. Especially now that I have the time. I have no excuse really since I don’t do the gym even when this isn’t happening sooo I really need to get back on it!

What questions/help do you have/need to help you achieve your habits, goals, and resolutions? Hoping posting here will give me some accountability

What's a "small win" you have from last week? Uhmmm none lol if the weekend counts as last week then I started a new free trial of an app called 8fit. It does a meal plan and exercise plan for you and I snagged a 3 month trial! I recommend it so far! Maybe the 3 month trial is for every new user? I got the code from a separate app so not sure.

  • @keikilove haha I love your "small win". I did something similar towards the end of a walking challenge through DH's work. We needed a certain number of steps to beat the challenge and I was behind since I didn't always get out and away from my desk for short walks in our parking lot. I was walking back and forth in the living room while watching TV, doing the loops through our living room, foyer, dining room, and kitchen. I was even running in place to get extra steps!  :D I accomplished the goal though!

@jackie_dunny oh no! did you go get yourself tested? Hopefully you get some good use out of that app to kickstart your weight loss!

What habits, goals, or resolutions do you have for yourself this year? Or which goal(s) are you focusing on this week? Keeping to the DF and GF diet, yoga 2-3 times a week

How's everything going? I fell off the bandwagon on the diet this weekend. Just needed to get some stuff out of the house (RIP Hamburger Helper meals). Totally failed at yoga so hopefully I can get into that - starting today!

What has you motivated or struggling this week? Mental health seems to be a little all over the place the last few days. Not sure how to feel so that makes it difficult to want to do the yoga

What questions/help do you have/need to help you achieve your habits, goals, and resolutions? How do you gals like to keep to your goals when your routine changes?

What's a "small win" you have from last week? Mmmmm none  :# it's hard to feel bad about the diet when there's no FET to keep me accountable with eating right. Maybe a small win could be that I have 130lbs on the scale in my sights. I'm generally around 132 when I weigh myself in the morning, but I did catch a 131.8 the other day so I may break into 130 soon. Would be even more exciting to see below 130, but that may be some time. I haven't been this weight since my college days!

@inthewoods23 no we won’t be getting tested. DH and I developed symptoms when COVID was fairly new to the UK (very end of feb-first week or so of March) and it was before the NHS and government had a steady plan on how to handle it. At the time, testing was only done for the elderly and those who have travelled or had been in contact with a known confirmed case and we weren’t any of those so we’re just told to isolate. We had friends and family do our shopping for us. I didn’t leave the house for the entirety of March, like at all - not even for walks - which was awful 😆 I’m sorry your mental health has been all over the place! Maybe the yoga will help lift your spirits a bit. Yay for being so close to your goal! How exciting!

  • @jackie_dunny oh my goodness, never left the house?? How did you not go crazy?

I did a Yoga for Beginners video that was about 20 minutes and it was great! I should probably do these videos in the morning because now I have all this energy at 10:30 at night 😅

  • @jackie_dunny I had to start the week off right and get session 1 completed! My plan is to do 20 minute videos in the evening and/or 5-15 minute videos if I decide I want to use a workout as a break in the work day.

@jackie_dunny You make a great point about how much YH is doing around the house & yard. Mine is doing the same. So I guess I can let him off the hook a bit.😊 It is amazing that you’ve recovered so well from having the sickness! Thank goodness! And yes, what a miracle you’re ere able to keep your sanity😆Don’t be too hard on yourself with the losing weight: it’s probably fairly tricky with being indoors most of the time. I said I was aiming to lose 1-2 pounds this week, but then I realized that 1 pound is much more realistic—if I lose anything at all! Extra motivation is great: I will check out the app you mentioned, thanks!

@inthewoods23 I Laughed out loud at your “RIP Hamburger Helper” hahah. Hey, sometimes we slip.🤷‍♀️ Good for you for starting the week with yoga! The more you do it daily, the more of a craving you’ll have for exercise. Sounds crazy until it happens lol. And congratulations with the weight loss! Regarding your question with how to keep to the goals when the routine actually changes: I exercise until it feels like part of the routine (takes 3 weeks to form a habit, so I think I’m there this week!) Then, if I think about skipping a workout, it feels really weird & the only way to grab onto something normal when everything else is out of whack is to start exercising again. Also, I love the serene/ high feeling that the exercise endorphins give, so working out is basically my mental health therapy.

I had a super busy workday and sat at my desk all day yesterday. It felt yucky to not move all day. So, I was walking around the livingroom & kitchen for more than 30 minutes again last night, but my Fitbit didn’t log it as exercise😳 Gonna manually enter it today—I refuse to break my streak now that I’ve got going!😄 I love the short workouts I found with Lucy Wyndham on YouTube. If you guys are interested, here’s a super easy 7-minute/1,000 steps workout to do at home: https://youtu.be/Cp1_j8JkOTg

  • @keikilove I’ve heard of this “3 weeks to form a habit” and then you’ll miss working out but I’ve never experienced it 😆 maybe this time will be my time 💪🏻

  • @keikilove Our favorite is the Deluxe Stroganoff Hamburger Helper! Often I add onion and mushrooms to it. It is a fantastic substitute for a real stroganoff recipe. Definitely a comfort meal that's quick to make. I definitely really enjoyed the ease of yoga! And 20 minutes is about right with how long I want to do something so chill for exercise. After that I fall into the "when is this ending" camp wanting to check how much time is left in the video. I can definitely get into this habit by starting with beginner yoga videos. The one I did yesterday from Yoga with Adriene focused more on stretching type poses and it felt so good. I really love the feeling of being flexible so I'll probably rotate a few similar videos for a while before going into the harder poses/flows.

Also with the weather we're having today, I'm dreaming of yoga on a blanket in our backyard!
