For FTMs:
For the third trimester, I'm also interesting in books about things like Hypnobirthing.
- Expecting Better, a more science based approach to all the restrictions placed on pregnant women, most of which boil down to women being given a blanket restriction because the system (patriarchy) doesn't think they're smart enough to understand a nuanced restriction, or to make their own informed decisions based on facts.
- If you're interested at all in medication free birth, Ina May's Guide to Childbirth. I found it super inspirational.
- The Birth Partner by Penny Simkin. Geared for your partner to read, I found it super reassuring and helpful for both of us. She leans toward low intervention births, but I liked that she gives information and pros/cons for all aspects of birth so you can make an informed decision.
