Anyone suffer from serious itchiness late in pg?

I am going crazy over here!  My wrists, my hands, my lower legs, ankles.... I am just super itchy and can't stop scratching.  I tried using unscented lotion and it isn't helping.

I vaguely remember being itchy at the end of my pg with Alex... but it seems worse this time.  Or maybe I forgot how bad it was.

Has anyone else had this???

Re: Anyone suffer from serious itchiness late in pg?

  • yep. i switched lotion and it still didn't let up. i was waking up at night scratching because it got so bad. benadryl is a no-no while pg, so i mentioned it to my ob looking for a rec for lotion, etc.

she ended up running some tests, but i was always having to have blood drawn, so it didn't seem like a big deal at the time. my itching was related to my thrombocytopenia, which was causing some other issues as well.

  • Nope not yet, but hope you get some relief soon!
  • Just on my belly, because it's dry and stretching. This dry weather is not helping at all!

  • Oh man, I had crazy itching when I was pg. with Sam!  It started around month 5 or so, and continued through his birth.  I had like 3 back scratchers stashed around the house, not including DH.  :)

  • I had crazy itching too. The only thing that helped was Burt's Bees Baby Apricot Oil.
