Product Spotlight Series: Bath Time

The Product Spotlight Series continues! Remember, the community is welcome to comment on threads like these throughout your time here, not just when it's their week in the spotlight. Big thanks to everyone who participates! Thanks for providing links and pics when you feel they are helpful!  For this week, we've got Bath Time!

One note: Here are all TB's Bath time articles.

STMs:
What types of products did you find to be essential for baby bath time, and which are your fave brands & why?

What types of products are non-essential, but you would recommend for bath time--which are your fave brands and why?

Which types of products/specific brands/brand products would you NOT recommend?

FTMs:

What bath time essentials/non-essentials are you looking at? What's topping your list so far & why?

Any questions (other than the above) for STMs?

We don’t really have a logical storage space for a tub (I mean, we could put it in our tub and then just take it out every time we shower, kind of annoying but fine) so I was trying to find a collapsible infant tub. So far I haven’t found any that have overwhelmingly positive reviews other than an Oxo brand one but it looks like they took that off amazon 🙄

@b_1029 some people never use a tub... they just kind of lay them down in the tub with a tiny bit of water. That's always an option too!
My friend also has/uses a Puj Flyte b/c her baby just grew out of it.... so maybe that's an option to get you through until the baby's almost sitting up. (it says good up to 6mo and 17lbs)
  • I did have a baby bath for the other kids, but to be honest, it didn't last very long, and it was easier to bathe them in the sink. I ended up buying this for the sink off of amazon for for this LO. Plus, saving space is nice!

  • @modoodles I thought of getting this as well. But read reviews of people never being able to get it to fully dry and it getting moldy. So then I got worried lol.
I put a regular baby tub on our registry. We will be able to just store it in our guest tub for the majority of the time (because we never have guests😂)
I think the one I ended up picking says it “grows with baby” and can last quite a while. But we’ll see if that’s actually true. 😂
  • @nursejenn5 oh no! I didn't read the reviews! LOL!
  • @modoodles I was also thinking of that but decided against it after reading the reviews. Our dryer is down in the basement, so I would be trekking water across the house to try and get it dry. But even a dryer isn’t successful in getting that thing dry according to the reviews. I bet if you ran a spin cycle first and then put it in the dryer it would help, but that’s a lot of work for a baby bath.

I think I’m set on the Boon soak 3 stage tub. I can use it on the sink and transfer it to a regular tub if I like.

@amygray725 after the previous comment about reviews I went to check them out! Thankfully my laundry room is right off the kitchen- if it's too much of a plain I will just bathe baby without it I guess 🤦‍♀️

We have one full bath but it's on the second floor, and the main floor has just a half bath. I'm definitely looking for convenience here haha!
  • @modoodles I’ve heard good things about the lotus from a few friends! I was going to put that on our registry but I’m not sure if any of our sinks would be big enough for it honestly. Our laundry sink is dilapidated (I mean honestly it’s probably 100 years old. We’ve never used it) and in our basement and our kitchen sink is split in half.

@blaf322 good to know we don’t necessarily need a tub! Maybe that’ll just be the only time I bathe myself too and I’ll sit in there with her 😂
