Really bad day =( / warning- long B!tch fest

Woke up really early this morning because between the cold/flu and general discomfort I hadn't slept that much anyways.

So I move to the recliner sofa and after watching some tv and nesting a bit I manage to get a few more hours of sleep.  Decide that I will be sleeping on reclining sofa until baby comes, way more comfortable than bed.

Woke up about 2 1/2 hours before my dr.s appt and went to shower and get ready, when Im almost ready I leave my bedroom to find that my dog has thrown up all over the hallway,  I mean ALL OVER, she is a little dog I have no idea how so much stuff was even in her stomach!  And her face was just covered in foamy puke.   I was really worried because I didn't know what was wrong with her, also I was worried because I didnt think I would be able to clean everything up and still get to my doctors appointment on time.

So, I grab some rags and the oxy clean and go to town scrubbing the carpet meanwhile every time I get one pile cleaned up my dog throws up again so I decided to put her in her kennel and just deal with any mess she makes in there later.   While putting the dog away I see that the reason she got sick was because my cat went potty on the floor and the dog decided to eat it. Sick.   So now I know that I'm not only cleaning up puke, but I'm cleaning up poopy puke. Double sick.

After I get the hallway all cleaned up I go into the Media room to find that the stupid dog has thrown up all over my side of the reclining sofa.  Keep in mind she is not allowed on the sofa period.  She has never been allowed on the sofa and up until today she has never gone up there, at least not that I knew of.   But today, not only did she go up on the sofa she threw up all over it.  I was pissed.   Grab more oxy clean and steam cleaner, go to work on sofa.  So much for sleeping on sofa until baby comes.

Realize I am really late to my appointment.   Call them to let them know I am running late.

Speed. Get to my appt 15 minutes late, beg them to still see me.

Blood pressure really high 134/98, Dr. talks induction, has a hard time finding baby's heartbeat.

Wants me to be put on the monitors for a while to make sure heartbeat is ok.

1/2 hr on monitors,  baby's hb keeps dropping she wants me to be monitored longer.

1hr later, same thing.   2 hours go by, doctors office is closing I get transferred to L&D for more monitoring.

Listen to other woman in triage vomit loudly several times, the whole time I am there.

1 hour after being transferred to L&D I get wheeled down to ultrasound so they can check for cord problems and check fluid levels.  Hospital decides that now is a good time to let a student try her first ultrasound on her own.

After a very uncomfortable 40 minutes laying on my back the student leaves, actual tech comes in and tells me that they will be doing the ultrasound again since no one was sitting in with the student and they need to make sure everything was done correctly.  30 more uncomfortable minutes go by and I am wheeled back upstairs.

Some time in the hour and ten minutes I was in ultrasound, my shoes go missing.

Hooked back up to monitors until on call doc can come talk to me.

Doc comes in, tells me that everything looks great and I can go home!  (I'm still confused why if everything looked great the whole time I was there for 6+ hours...)

Luckily shoes were located by nurses.

Painful cramping the whole drive home (I live over an hour from the hospital)

Almost run out of gas on Maple valley Hwy, can't find gas station.

Run over poor little kitty who runs in front of my car when I'm going 60 mph.  (sorry kitty! Sad)

Finally find gas station just in the nick of time, sputter in, pump gas in front of several other people who are undoubtedly wondering why the huge pregnant lady is bawling her eyes out while pumping her gas...

Finally make it home, burst into tears again while telling dh about previously mentioned kittty...

Bad day.

I'm sorry you had a bad day. ?I hope tomorrow is better, and that you have that baby soon!

  • You poor thing!  I hope your DH cleaned up the rest of the puke (were you alone in L&D?) and kitty...well, maybe it was a giant sewer rat.
  • Now that is a bad day.  I'm sorry.  :(  Tomorrow will be better, it can't get much worse, right?   Sounds like you need a virtual drink, a very strong one!
  • O.M.G. I'm sorry! ((HUGS)) Just the lack of sleep and poopy puke would make me lose it. Are you able to get the recliner sofa cleaned up enough to sleep on?

  • Oh I'm so sorry! What a nightmare of a day... I ran over a mama and baby duck last spring and I felt so awful!?

How could so many things go wrong? I mean it's unbelievable! The poopy puke, the lost shoes, the poor kitty ... you deserve a big hug and a bowl of ice cream.?

That said, (and please be mad or think I'm mean and horrible) ?I am laughing so hard I've got tears rolling down my cheeks. I feel so bad for you but I swear someday you'll find it funny in a horrible way. Print this out and put it in your baby book!?

DO you have any waterproof sheet type things you bought for the baby?  Maybe you can put that between you and the couch??   or sleep on the other side of the couch?

  • Dh was at work for the first part and then at home cleaning for the second part.   I kept telling him not to come to the hospital because I didnt know how long I was going to be there and with traffic it would have taken him at least an hour and a half to get to me.  I didn't want him to drive all the way there just to turn around and go back.

  • You poor thing. Go put your feet up and drink some water! Try to get some sleep before you have this baby (ya right) because you won't be getting any for a while after he comes. Good luck and hopefully sooner than later.
  • OMG, Jen. ?I'm so sorry. ?What a seriously shitty day. ?I hope you're sleeping soundly now. ?Tomorrow will be a much, much better day.
