Re: Fit Friday 3/6
How did you do last week? Great in terms of exercise. Yesterday was the only day where I didn’t exercise at all. Every other day I’ve been active. Somehow I managed to have cupcakes three days this week, though...
Any goals for next week? Keep it up!
GTKY: What was the best thing you ate this week? Healthy, just plain delicious, or both. (But if both, you'd better share details/your recipe!) other than the cupcakes, I got some Thai curry flavored cashews from Whole Foods that are just amazing.
How did you do last week? Did well. My half went great! I did give myself an extra rest day Monday but I ran Tuesday and Thursday and I have a 2 miler and 10k race tomorrow morning. I also made it out to my HIIT Bootcamp twice this week.!
Any goals for next week? I’m switching to HIIT 3x/week and dropping a run (still hoping for 2-3 runs a week). My pelvic floor has been so good to me so I’m gonna give her an extra break.
GTKY: What was the best thing you ate this week? Healthy, just plain delicious, or both. (But if both, you'd better share details/your recipe!) Mango. So juicy and amazing. I ate 3 😂
What are you doing to stay active? I just went to my class this week, went on a few walks and I took my toddler swimming.
How did you do last week? I decided that I was better to let my ribs heal than push it and prolong the healing time.
Any goals for next week? Now things are getting better, I've booked a few personal training sessions with the lady who runs my class, so she's going to design me a few 2nd trimester workouts that I'll do a few days a week. I'll also go my class and maybe I run if I can wear my sports bra again.
GTKY: What was the best thing you ate this week? Healthy, just plain delicious, or both. (But if both, you'd better share details/your recipe!) I made Chinese pork belly boa buns last Saturday when may parents came to visit. They were great!
I’m having SO many issues with this APP 😖
How are you feeling this week? Physically I’m feeling Great! Mentally I’m a bit stressed!
What are you doing to stay active? My job keeps me active most days but I also workout at home.
How did you do last week? I only managed to do a couple at home workouts. MH had his week off from work that kind of put a damper on my usual routine!
Any goals for next week? Beyond what I do at work, I really hope to become more physical with workouts at home. Now that the weather is turning out to be nicer, I can get back into going for my Long walks!
GTKY: What was the best thing you ate this week? Healthy, just plain delicious, or both. (But if both, you'd better share details/your recipe!) I’ve been craving mostly healthy foods! Any sort of sweets I’ve had is just my sweet tooth I’ve always had. I love my strawberry, blueberry, granola mixed in vanilla Greek yogurt. Treated myself to a Carrot Cake smoothie from Booster Juice. It was pleasantly refreshing. Tonight I’m making a pot of “Lightened Up Cheddar Cauliflower Broccoli Soup” - can’t wait!
@cornichonmam So glad you're feeling better, and that's great about the personal training sessions! I can think of few times in life when you'd get more out of customized advice re: both "what can I safely do" and "what should I be strengthening."
@tyrion_ Well done on the half! I'm so glad you mentioned pelvic floor -- just earlier today I was thinking about your half and how much I'd like to sign up for one next winter/spring, but baby one did a serious number on my bladder control where running is concerned and I'm scared about where I'll be after this next kiddo. I guess there's not really a question there (I know everyone's experience in this area is very different), just a comment that you make me hopeful and yes, kudos on that pelvic floor of yours
@gomillis What a perfect week for you! (and yes, I'm including the cupcakes in that analysis). Those cashews sound dangerously good.
How are you feeling this week? Good - lots of energy, sleeping better, finally in a workout groove which is feeding itself and helping so much with my mental game.
How did you do last week? Great! DH is on crutches, so I've taken over morning dog walks and it seems knowing I have to get dressed and outside every morning, no matter what, has magically made me able to do it a half hour earlier and get in a workout, too. (I used to be a morning workout person exclusively, but that felt impossible while breastfeeding DS and almost a year later I still wasn't back in the habit.) I did a 20 minute cycling workout 4 mornings this week and an extra long dog walk the day I took off. And pilates this afternoon.
Any goals for next week? More of the same!
GTKY: What was the best thing you ate this week? Healthy, just plain delicious, or both. (But if both, you'd better share details/your recipe!) Last Sunday, we did a diner brunch and I - a fairly dedicated savory breakfast girl - switched it up and ordered the chocolate chip blueberry pancakes. Pancakes are so good. I forget about them.
How did you do last week?: I did pretty good, I hit 30 minutes of cycling for 5 days, most of those days I got pretty close to that 9 mile mark. I also managed to get my booty back on the yoga mat this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday.
Any goals for next week?: I'm doubling down on my yoga practice. I've been getting anxious about the world and I need to ground myself. I'm committing myself to practicing daily again, so step 1 is every day this week.
GTKY: What was the best thing you ate this week? Healthy, just plain delicious, or both. (But if both, you'd better share details/your recipe!): Oh gosh... I ate some crab and shrimp ravioli with a homemade marinara that was earth shattering (I've been craving sea food).. and I also had an amazing late night treat last night, a slice of sour dough toast with a very light coating of butter and a healthy topping of fig preserves. It wasn't very healthy but it was so tasty. I'll probably have another slice tonight.
