  • @mamaqdubu oh my word. It wasn't until I got to "I don't even trust her to put the kid safely in a car seat" did I realize that this woman isn't even the one watching your children!

  • @catem07 yeah. she's essentially an emergency backup who we don't even trust in an emergency. Her and FIL might try to come by one of the nights my SIL is there to "help out", but she has literally zero responsibility in all of it!!
  • @mamaqdubu Ew. I'm sorry. That would drive me nuts too. Glad your husband at least stepped in to help you. I hope your trip goes well and that your MIL sees your kids only minimally while you're gone.

  • My BF- I need this sick season to end. My poor preschooler is miserable and we're all struggling.

  • @mamaqdubu nope there is so much nope in that I can’t even. I would have probably been an asshole and told her to google directions 😂😂
  • My BF is why oh why don’t people do their jobs? I can’t handle it right now it’s slowing up my client from getting services and I’m over it
  • @mamaj1220 that's what we did say. she's the only one that doesn't have a smart phone (GPS) or email, the only one who can't be trusted to drive anywhere without getting lost, and the only one who would freak out enough to bring the kids to the hospital if they had like a 100 degree fever for a few hrs. These are all reasons why she's not caring for the kids haha. I only had to glare at my husband for about 2 seconds before he knew i needed to leave the conversation.

  • @mamaqdubu that's a whole lot of ooooof.

    My BF is at Pizza Hut. DH skipped lunch with me so I ordered a pizza. Get back to the office and there are onions. No big deal. I can pick them off. UNTIL there was a piece of raw chicken on my taco pizza. Called the store and they made a new one.... only to bite into onion and uncooked bacon. I'm done. Clearly the universe wants me to eat thin mints for lunch. blech.

    @pourmeanothermocktail I completely agree with you. Apparently the trend at DD1's school is that you get the flu, then potentially the other strain of flu, then strep, then pneumonia. We will pass on the pneumonia, please and thank you.

    Also, second BF. Why in the world would you text less than 48 hours beforehand saying "Hey btw soccer practice starts Tuesday! see you there!" A little notice would be nice. DD1 had a well check scheduled for that day, but I moved it to spring break so she wouldn't have to miss more school since she was out all last week.
  • Second BF I forgot about while complaining, yet again the heat in our office was broke this morning so we huddled in one office with a space heater and when they fixed it they said it was a part of what they fixed last time and they usually go together but the landlord said not to bother doing them both less than a month ago...
  • @bananapanda Good luck with work idiots and daycare. My 3.5 almost 4 year old isn't even allowed to try to wipe his butt yet-it's worse if he tries. Maybe next year.

  • About 2 weeks ago I replaced two different brake lights on my car.  I also had the dreaded check engine light come on.  I dealt with all of this.  Then my key fob battery died last week and I was locked out of my car at the post office with purse and phone locked in the car, for some reason apparently the key does not work in the keyhole in the door, go figure.  Then I discovered a headlight went out.  Not 48 hours after said headlight died a cop pulled me over on my way home because my headlight was out.  I knew it, and fortunately had just purchased a new bulb and had it sitting on the front seat of my car.  Fortunately I wasn’t speeding or doing anything wrong so he had to just let me go, but I am seriously over it.  None of this has amounted to any major car trouble that impacts my ability to drive it, but it’s all been a massive pain!
  • @pirateduck I'm with you on the car troubles.

    2 years ago I fixed my water pump and thermometer. I was going to sell it last summer but it's not worth much and I didn't feel like putting out $5000 to buy a decent vehicle. This was a mistake. Car decided to break on me last month or so. Coolant leak so bad I filled it up, drove 30 minutes home and it was completely empty. Thermostat melted, engine over heated. 2 oil leaks. The smell, holy moly the smell. Dead if winter and I couldn't have my heater on. Which also broke, it only blew out of the hands area so no defrosted window for me. Got to the point I couldn't drive it. Decided to get it fixed. Cost about $2000, and should have had another $800 added onto it but the very nice owner did the fan part for free. Two weeks after all of this fixed... Another leak in the engine. That terrible smell is back. It's in the shop again now. Stupid thing is going this summer. I'm pissed, I should have just sold it.
  • @jess09lynn it’s hard to know sometimes when it’s worth fixing an older car and when it’s time to sell. In the past I have done both, keep a car until it’s virtually worthless, and another time I sold in lieu of doing $4500 in repairs.  You never know what will happen next.
  • Thanks everyone!

    @mamaqdubu that sounds insane!

    @pirateduck @jess09lynn ugh car troubles are the worst!

  • @mamaqdubu Ugh your MIL sounds terrible. I hope you’re able to breathe a little and get excited for your trip. It sounds like you have the opportunity for a great Babymoon if everyone behaves

    @m6agua You know your body, if anyone says that your very healthy breakfast isn’t good enough, then tell them you will top it with cake frosting to meet their standards! 😂

    @bananapanda Hie the hell do they expect a 2 yo to wipe herself?!? That’s ridiculous

    @pourmeanothermocktail Hopefully everyone starts feeling better soon

    @mamaj1220 Damn cheap landlord

    @TattoosandLace Ugh so sad about your pizza debacles... hopefully you enjoyed your thin mints

    @jess09lynn @pirateduck Hopefully no more car troubles! That’s enough for both of you for a while
  • @jess09lynn Just a friendly heads up-it's not uncommon for the entire engine to blow up within 10-15,000 miles of a major overheating event like that. Car troubles totally suck.

  • @pirateduck you inspired me to change the battery in my key fob. It's been saying replace battery for a couple weeks and I had finally bought batteries but not gotten around to putting it in. I'm so sorry for all your car troubles - they are miserable. We are dealing with similar for MH's vehicle. $2500 later...
  • @rachelg777 yes!  Maybe it should be a regular chore like changing smoke detector and CO2 batteries!
  • @shamrocandroll agreed!  Fortunately I’m still at the point of minor, but annoying, stuff.  I think now In the past year I have replaced ALL headlight and brake light bulbs and a turn signal bulb.  I guess all I have left is the other turn signal  :D
  • @pourmeanothermocktail yeah MH was pretty worried but it seems to be fine.

    @shamrocandroll also agree. Unfortunately it wasn't all in one go. Little things kept happening if I knew it would cost this much we never would have put any money into it.
