this is the recliner we bought (well me, H had no opinion  :D I got it on sale as a closeout on the color, I think it ended up being ~$200 altogether. It is SO soft to the touch, and so comfy. Right now I have it covered and shoved in the nursery closet to be protected from the animals, but can't wait to really bust it out and use it.

My sister bought a bigger sized chair, has cupholders, heated, massager, recliner. It is SO NICE. but was too much for me (money, and all around extra) But she wanted something that her toddler could sit in with her as well as she BF the new babe. I'll try to find the link because it is SUPER nice. and I'm super others may enjoy it.

DH and I actually purchased one over the weekend. We wanted one we’d both fit comfortably in (not at the same time lol) because we’re both on the taller side, especially him, and I was getting worried reading amazon reviews for a lot of nursery chairs because several that I liked said some people don’t really fit in them? Who knows if that’s true or not. We wound up getting a “normal” recliner (that swivels also) from a local furniture store. For as money conscious as DH is, I was surprised that he really wanted to spend $$$$ on this damn chair (with the idea that we could keep it forever). Fair point I guess. Anyway, sorry for the novel, here’s the chair we got but it’ll be a charcoal grey! I can’t wait for it to get here in like...8 weeks so I can curl up and read in it.

Eta the pic from the website

  • @nursejenn5 I'm a fan of your chair. Was that the one you really wanted? I feel like you mentioned a chair a million years ago lol.

We just used an ancient lazy boy recliner hand me down that I was inches away from throwing out because it's so god awfully ugly lol... kept it because it matched the room (colour-wise, not in ugliness lol) and turns out it was great. It rocks, reclines, and had low, very wide, plush arms, which I found great for nursing. super comfy and we spent tons of time in it. I'm debating if I should move it to the new baby's room or get a new chair for the nursery and leave that one in DD's for story time and what not. I'm leaning towards leaving it in DD's room because the chair is quite bulky and the nursery will be much smaller than her room is.
  • @mrsdrez Yes! I'm 99% sure its the same chair my sister has, and I spent many 3am's with my niece in it, and her and my BIL have slept in it alot and so I searched for it. When I first went to buy it, the color was discontinued, but after finding another chair that was "okay" i checked one more time and they had 2 more in stock again so I jumped on it.
I also used another glider with one of my nephews, and knew I didn't want one myself, so I was SUPER excited for this recliner/rocker  :D
    • Any specifics that may differentiate your preferences (height, home size, multiples, etc.): Our rooms are kind of on the smaller side so we didn’t want a gigantic chair.
    • Link/picture: I can’t get above out of the spoiler, y’all can figure it out  :#
    • Cost (either actual dollar amount, or just $, $$, $$$, etc.): $$
    • What you like about it: the swivel and rock are very nice, it moves smoothly so I can get in and out with a sleeping baby and keep them asleep
    • What you don't like about it, if anything: I wish it reclined!! I didn’t want a recliner when I was pregnant because I was afraid of falling asleep with a newborn in the recliner. Now that she is a toddler and I’ve spent a few nights holding her in the chair while she is sick, I wish it reclined. I just wouldn’t have used the recline feature when she was little bitty and I worried about me staying awake.
    • Is there a [glider/rocking chair] you don't have but are considering? Why?: I’m thinking of leaving the one we have in DD’s room, and getting a new one that reclines for little dude’s room. But I can’t decide if I should just suck it up and use it and get a beanbag or something for DD’s room. Either way, I want a place that I can sit and snuggle (preferably both kids at one time) in each kid’s room.
    • Is there a [glider/rocking chair] you've tried that you absolutely hate? Why?: I do not like the typical “nursing glider” that is a wooden frame and pads. So many hard edges and I could not get comfy in it while trying to nurse. I like having a nice, wide, fabric arm rest to rest baby’s head on when nursing. Because when they cluster feed, the pressure from there little head will make your hand fo numb when you have been nursing for hours on end! I would lay DD’s head on the arm rest to give my arm a break.
    • Additional thoughts on [glider/rocking chair]?: The foot rest may or may not be comfortable or helpful when trying to nurse a newborn. I had to use a different foot rest at first because DD was so small and needed to be up so high. If it isn’t working for you, get a different one!
