This is Spock. He weighs 80 lbs. This bed is made for 10-25 lbs dogs. He thinks he fits.
Barley is our mini dachshund. He's 10 years old and 10 lbs. They are an odd couple, and quite lazy most of the time.

This is Winnie (after Winnie the Pooh). She's a MUTT 😂 (2/3 golden, 1/3 poodle) and she just turned 1 yesterday. She's a very good girl. Very gentle with DS (it's him we have to worry about ) and doesn't bark. She chews on everything though and that makes me insane, but at least it forces us to keep the house relatively clean.

Here is DD taking a snooze on our boy Tucker this morning because she wasn’t quite ready to wake up and get dressed. He’s so sweet and loves her even though he looks like he wants to run away.
And this is Leo. His winter coat makes him triple in size and he looks like Elizabeth I. He's an asshole but he's a terrific mouser and has expanded his rodent murdering territory to the golf course, so you're welcome, golfers? He does not like dogs or toys, just a clean litter box and freedom to hunt.
@soprano19 Oh yeah! At least one long walk a day, if not two, plenty of rowdy wrestling and playing time, and she spends a lot of time running circles in the backyard when it's sunny out; summer is her favourite because DS spends hours outside with her. When she doesn't burn off enough energy, she's liable to dig or find something to chew (like shoes or a remote), so it's like checking on a toddler constantly when she's outside and it's rained recently.
But she really is a good girl and is pretty chill when she's gotten all her zoomies out. Like right now she's sound asleep on the bed and has been for most of the morning, in between a few yard laps and playing fetch in the house.
@pirateduck I'm so sorry for your loss. Even when it's the right time, even when it's not a surprise, there is never enough time with a beloved pet. I hope that you'll be lucky enough to have another wonderful dog again when you are ready.

Thank you ladies. It's hard, no matter how "prepared" you think you are. I do have another dog who is 8 and has lived with Sunshine since she was 6 weeks old, so I'm still not sure how she'll get on as an only dog. I'm sure she'll adapt, especially considering that I will be home all the time with baby for the summer and we'll have lots of time together. I don't know if I can do puppy and baby at the same time, please talk some sense into me because my boss has a litter of golden retriever puppies that are ready for new homes right now, and it's definitely tempting.
@pirateduck I might not be the best person to talk sanity...we adopted Spock when he was 6 months old and I was pregnant with my second. He was just a year old when she was born. We did have our older dog to help train him. And my toddler (oldest) had a great time chasing puppy around happily when I was hugely pregnant in the nasty part of the summer, lol.
Wasn't 'easy exactly, but it was right for us. Granted, older puppy, and earlier in pregnancy, and it was my second baby, so I had a better handle on how things would go with a newborn.

@pirateduck Don't do it! We got our dog basically the day I had a positive pee stick, he was 1. So there was time to train him and stuff. It was fine for a while, but it was hard and then when my health started to go haywire postpartum we just could not give him the home he deserved. You have no clue how your body/health will be postpartum, so I highly suggest waiting.
This is Nigel. He’s a fancy tuxedo cat and he’s 8.5. We rescued him a few months after we got married. He’s the goodest boy.
And this is Nora. She’s a 7 year old calico. She was the runt of her litter and is still smaller than the average adult cat. She’s a little sassy pants and I am her favorite human.
This is Bean, who has been awfully suspicious about my bump as of late.
And these are Lance (brown) and Arthur (black and white). They're pretending they haven't been pulling at their fence, trying to escape (note that the corner is out of the connector, so despite their butts facing the fence, they're lying).
The cat is Rubble (DS was really into Paw Patrol when he was born) and he will be three in July. He’s an interesting creature to say the least, we hand raised him and his siblings after their mom broke a screen out and was hit by a car. The chiweenie is Pebbles (again rethink allowing your kids to names pets 😂😂) and she is almost 2 and naughty haha. But she thinks she is a big dog and protects DS like no ones business and is so sweet when it destroying my house.
I love all of the fur (and furless) babies! Here's Sheldon, soon-to-be 5-year old Tabby. She has way too much personality for a cat, I hope that she adjusts once baby is here.
@pirateduck Recent golden mix puppy adopter here.... I would also highly suggest waiting. We adopted Winnie after my 2 losses, and she definitely helped to get me out of my funk, but then MH broke his ankle literally the day before we we picked her up, and I had to do all of the middle-of-the-night puppy wake up calls by myself, and it was so much work. Way less work than a baby or a toddler, but I wouldn't want to do a puppy and a newborn at the same time, personally. And only being ~2months out from baby time won't really give you a lot of time to pre-train. And then having two baby creatures demanding all of your attention would be a lot. There will be more puppies!

Thank you ladies. I don't even think I am ready emotionally for another dog yet... it's really only this opportunity that exists where my co-worker happens to have a litter ready to go of the same breed of dog I just lost at the same time I lost my dog. There's a part of me that feels like it's fate or something, but the rational part of me knows it's not a good idea right now.

Being as she's a Husky in the south, she does not know what to do in snow. She just tries to eat it, and then goes back to bed.
@thepretzelchick I want a husky lab mix so bad! She probably needs a lot of exercise though, right?
I want to show off my kitties, but I need to go searching back through my phone. Stay tuned.
