  • @asf0613 @krystrist2014 these are some of my splurges too! During the week I make coffee at home and we eat dinner at home but during the weekend / work lunch I want to go out for food/coffee.

My splurges are more time related than money. I get my hair highlighted every 3 months and it usually takes 4-6 hours bc my hair is THICK. Exercise is also a splurge - I mostly run outside but get new shoes/gear and also pay for some cross training classes too.
  • @bserena ---an underwear subscription service?!  my first reaction is omg they have a box for everything now, but upon further thought that sounds like such a fun thing!

@allthingscozy I do Stitch Fix! Love getting those boxes every few weeks.
My monthly yoga membership isn't a huge splurge but it's definitely something I need for self care! For products I'm pretty good at finding cheap/mid-priced brands that I like but I did start using RMS Beauty makeup a year ago which is on the pricey side!
Would love to get a massage and facials more! It's been like two years! :(
  • @asf0613 yeah I know, they really do  :D but I love it. It's 13 a month and I get two pairs of cute undies in the mail. I love them!
  • @bserena okay i might add this to my monthly splurging!!!
if i do it, do you have a referral code you can PM me?  credit where credit is due!
  • @asf0613 I can't find a code but it said to give this link: https://prz.io/XDP48bfK
  • @bserena thanks, hopefully it gives you a credit!
  • I am somewhat high maintenance in terms of services, which is ironic since I spend like zero time on looking nice on a day to day basis so I spend a ton of money and still look like hot garbage 90% of the time  :D  I have hair extensions and balayage, microbladed eyebrows, I get Botox every three months when not TTC, I get a mani/pedi every two weeks.I have tried eyelash extensions but they drive me nuts. I would love to get more massages but have trouble finding the time. I really don't spend much money on clothes or accessories or anything like that though and never have time to travel so I can justify the big ticket appearance items as trade offs :)

  • I used to splurge on a lot when I was working.  I got my nails done every two weeks, rented clothes from a service called Le Tote (which I highly recommend - it cut down on my shopping addiction and actually saved me money!), salon quality shampoo/condition (love Joico and Enjoy) and went to Ulta and Sephora on the regular.  Since I've stopped working and had to cut back, my only splurge I've kept is getting my hair done every six weeks.  I also go tanning to help with seasonal depression.

  • I try to get pedicures once a month. I like taking the 30ish minutes to relax and it makes me feel put together, even in the winter when no one really sees. That reminds me that I’m overdue! Going to have to try to make that happen!
  • I also do manis every 2 weeks and @linzrunz I haven't tried Le Tote but I've been doing StitchFix for like 2 years. I love it! I also LOVE Tommy John underwear.... they are pricey but so worth it IMO...I HATE when underwear rides up and these don't move!

    @bows22 get that pedi in!!

  • I used to get a monthly massage, but since the move, I haven't found a great therapist yet.  I am a member at Massage Envy, so all my credits are just stacking up.  I have been getting facials there instead recently.

I get pedicures about four times a year and often my DH will go with me.  He loves the massage chair and the cheese grater for his dry feet.  I also get my hair done a couple times a year as well.
  • @bserena I do bootaybag too!! Their underwear is so so so cute. Anymore I don’t get it every month though, just when something really speaks to me.

Probably my biggest self care splurge is our gym membership. We belong to a fairly pricy gym, but I go literally 6 times a week so it’s totally worth it! Other than that, I’m now realizing that I should find a new fun thing to treat myself to!
  • @emeraldduchess I was thinking the same thing! But this post has inspired me!

I get pedicures through the summer, which I really enjoy...maybe I should do them more often! I’ve also tried StitchFix and schedule those occasionally...I probably need some new Spring/Summer clothes, right?! I think I should schedule one soon!
  • @kpearse99 do it! I just got to pick my choices for the spring box and I’m really excited!
@bows22 pedis every month sounds like heaven!
@bserena I am definitely going to look into that!
@inthewoods23 I had heard similar from my cousin when I was torn between the subscriptions.
@dobiemom11 my husband got me two massages at massage envy for Christmas that place was awesome!

Also a tip for the thrifty ladies I found that at most of our local beauty schools they offer massage therapy. I get a 90 minute massage for 35 dollars there. It is one big room but each table is separated by hospital curtains so it’s still private and they had the same beds as nice massage parlors.
